I went through the drive thru today for a hamburger and a small blizzard which first of all cost 14$ second it was by far the worst burger I've EVER had!! The meat was so dry and then the bun was straight out of the microwave, tasted hard and rubbery, couldn't even eat it...not sure how in the world you can screw that up so bad!! I think this place has an unnecessarily bad wrap. Yes, it's outdated, and service is slow due to minimal staff, but it has a cool atrium and the kitchen is tidy and clean, despite the outdated decor. After you get past the curb appeal, the ice cream is just as delicious. read more

One of the dirtiest restaurants I've been in. My kids entertained themselves by killing ants in the eating area while I waited approximately 20 minutes to get to order my food (with only 2 customers in line in front of me). Then only to find out on free cone day these owners require you to purchase something to get the free cone. This was not posted anywhere that I saw and is in stark contrast to every other DQ free cone policy that I'm aware of. Will not be going back and saw multiple other people walking out as well. I left a sorely disappointed Pekin-ite as I feel this reflects poorly on Pekin as a whole when people try to visit here. read more

Where do I start?! I would not go back here if everything else was closed. First thing, they made our salad wrong. We asked if they had a "grilled chicken blt salad ". We were told yes. When we got to the window, they started to give us the next persons blizzards. They asked us to pull up. One of the workers came out to ask if we wanted ranch dressing, after we ordered French and ranch. Then when they finally brought our salads out, there was no French, and the chicken was crispy, not grilled. I went back to get French and left. After we drove all the way back across Pekin to our hotel, we find that the salad consisted of crispy chicken and lettuce...nothing else that the BLT salad has. And the last straw was when my daughter opened her French dressing and it looked nasty. I checked the date and it expired in 2018!!!!! Do not go here. read more

Has this place changed ownership? We got 2 $7 meals and overpaid greatly. Kudos on the good chicken strips. The Coke they served wasn't drinkable. The fries were undercooked and my carmel drumstick blizzard was missing carmel. My wife also said the dairy queen soft serve tasted different. Buyer beware, and proprieter ... good luck. Went in to get an ice cream cake and none of them were labeled so I just picked the best looking one and once I got home after having my boyfriend try it realizing it was a peanut butter cake and I am allergic to peanut butter so we called and told them what had happened and they agreed to give us either a refund or another cake for free, once we got there they told us we could not get a refund and that it was our fault for there cakes not being labeled. We also got told that they don't have them labeled because they have "pictures of the cake" which look absolutely nothing like the one I had got. If you are highly allergic to anything, I recommend going somewhere that has LABELED cakes that tell you the ingredients!!! read more

Service alone almost makes me want to rate this Dairy Queen 5 stars. The cashier was the only worker in the restaurant for over a half hour. And she did an amazing job with friendliness, helpfulness, and preparing the food. Although it was a Sunday night and this Dairy Queen seemed less busy than others I have been to, there was a steady flow of people coming in and out. The wait time was quite long given the circumstances and it was awfully cold in the small restaurant. The gender-neutral restroom was a single toilet and it was disgusting. When the food came out, it was excellent although the fry portions were smaller than usual. I would not return to this Dairy Queen nor would I recommend it. Sadly, the single worker was amazing and did the best she could. Unfortunately, wait time, portion size, and cleanliness of the restroom ruined my experience. read more

We stopped in here for a couple burgers today before an appointment in Pekin. The place was okay for cleanliness as far as the dining room; just needed some tables cleaned off. The bathroom needed some attention but I understand public restrooms are difficult to maintain. The sweetest couple of people took our order and the young man brought it out to us. Food was good. We've been a fan of DQ since the original Pekin store on 8th by the old high school. When in town we stop for lunch to celebrate special occasions by getting take out and eating down at the foot of court Street. For awhile it seemed run down and service not too friendly. The last few years it was back like the old days. We love the DQ sundaes and milk shakes. read more

Let's just start off by saying this Dairy Queen is my daughter and mine's FAVORITE place to go eat we love to get our five buck lunch and then upgrade for a dollar instead of the sundae we get a blizzard because it's a dollar upgrade charge but you get full and it's great and the new owners are awesome I love them as if they were family because I've gotten to know them alot and they are a down to earth great family!!! The new owners though bought the pekin illinois Dairy Queen a little over a year now but they bought also the laundry mat next door too because original owner owned both always but anyways the new owners have done ALOT of repairs and renovations while having it opened and they keep it very clean and they are fast with service for sure!!! But definitely check it out and eat and see if you like it but I am 99% sure you definitely will love it and keep coming back and ummm ohhh also they have a special at this Dairy Queen only they have if you buy 9 blizzards/slushes or 9 meals(five buck lunches are included) then you get the 10th free so make sure you get one and kids 16 and under can get a booklet every year for a voucher no purchase necessary and they can get a free small fry or a free small cone and they get one per weekend every weekend of the year for Saturdays and Sundays only..... but definitely stop in and see it for yourself I'm sure you'll love it too!!! read more

Worst experience EVER very disrespectful. Our whole order was melted even though we asked for blizzards

This was by far the WORST Dairy Queen I have ever been to. We ordered a cherry float and a blizzard. The cherry float was basically slushie water, when we said something to the girl about it, she argued with us, saying that is what the Mistys look like. Ummm I've been to a lot of different Dairy Queen's, and all of the Cherry Misty's are bright red, not white with streaks of pink in it. Then when we asked them to make another one, they blamed it on the cherry flavoring and asked if we wanted to try another flavor.  We got blue raspberry, it looked just like the cherry except it was white with streaks of blue in it. Then their idea of making it right was to make a blizzard to replace the nasty float. Both blizzards were runny and more like thin milkshakes than Blizzard's. They definitely wouldn't have passed the test where you tip them upside down. We will definitely drive past this Dairy Queen to go to one in a different town with better service and a staff who know how to make the menu items. read more

On the afternoon of 6/27/13 as I went to work, I stopped at DQ to have a "Cool Treat". I entered the DQ and was the only patron in line. I was greeted by the server and returned the greeting and scanned the menu. As I was preparing to order in walked two gentlemen who were in line behind me. The server didn't take my order or even asked was I ready at all and proceeded to help both of them as if I weren't standing there. I was very displeased with the service and walked out. I returned to the store and asked for the manager. The server pointed me in his direction. The manager was seated in the restaurant across from the patrons that were helped before me. I asked him if he was the manager in which he replied yes. I asked him if he had a minute, he replied I'm eating my lunch and licked his ice cream cone. I realized he wasn't giving me a private moment to speak with him so I voiced my complaint amongst his company. I told him what happened and his reply was okay, can I help you? I told him he needed some better service here and his reply was yeah, okay, again as he licked his ice cream cone. Obviously he had no time for me and my issue so I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and DQ corporate office. As I explained to corporate that Pekin has a racial history and it didn't help the fact that I'm a Black man and was basically cast aside to serve two White men. Don't know if that was coincidental or not. Either way it's not good service or practice. read more
