    the receipt for the restaurant

What a ridiculous experience! I ordered a large blizzard and a small blizzard. Both were over-filled by employee, and each was dripping. I asked for a tray, he had none, I asked for a cover he had none. Blizzards spilled on me and car's leather seats. He was nice enough to give me a few napkins partially full of the blizzards. I have to clean the car and my shirt from the blizzards. First and last time I go to a place that sells frozen ice cream in late June and doesn't have covers or trays so the products drip on clothing and interior of causing damage.

Pretty new, clean Dairy Queen. The service was great and had a full menu of food and ice cream.

Unfortunately my husband order the 10oz NY strip (an eye popping $28!) He thought he was playing it safe by ordering it medium. When the waitress brought his meal out she said she was waiting for him to cut into the steak to make sure it was to his order. Good thing because it was the rarest piece of meat we'd ever seen! Raw inside! She took the steak back and had them put it back on the grill (her words). Unfortunately when it came back out nearly 20 minutes later after the rest of us had already started, it was still barely medium rare! She offered to take it back and put it back on the grill (again!) but he was so frustrated he told her to leave it and he'd take it home and cook it himself. Sadly after cooking the next evening the majority of the meat was either fat or gristle so the 10oz steak ended up to be about 3oz of edible meat! We've been to other restaurants where an entree has been l poorly cooked, etc. and in each case the restaurant has always comped the meal. The salt in the wound was the waitress only offered to comp our dessert (just my husband and I!) Instead of rightfully comping the $28 meal they comped a $4 dessert. Our experience wasn't bad enough to keep us from going back but we'd definitely recommend to the restaurant that, if they're using a special menu they should've made sure to advertise that or let us know when we made reservations. Additionally, in an obvious screw up like this, always comp the meal!

I stop here whenever I'm in upstate NY to pick up bottles of this scrumptious sauce to bring home. This trip, I was delighted to find they had deep-sixed the "meh" buffet & now offered a full menu, including appetizers & desserts. A half chicken dinner ($19) includes their salad bar, a loaf of their homemade bread & one side. If you're not into chicken, which is what they're known for, they also offer ribs, brisket & other charbroiled meats. The salad bar had a good selection & everything tasted fresh & crisp. Their bread loaf is soft, white & served warm with whipped butter. We also ordered an appetizer of hush puppies, which were delicious with the whipped cinnamon butter that came with them. I chose baked beans for my side dish. Tasty & a good complement to the chicken. The chicken... perfectly charred, smoky, tender... wow!!! So delicious. Now for the weird part... we had leftovers & asked for take away containers. Our server brought us each a plastic box for the chicken. I asked for a small covered cup to take the rest of the beans & was told they don't give those out in the dining room. That was part of the meal I was paying for, so I asked her to please ask management if I could have a container. She came back with one but said, "We made an exception this time, but don't let it happen again." What?!? If it hadn't been for this, I would have rated it 5 stars.

Each chair has a name engraved on the bar in front of it. From this, I knew this would be a friendly place. This is a family owned and operated business. The dad greeted us warmly and manned the bar. The mom was the chef who made wonderful, homemade food like you'd expect from your grandma. Their son was helping out in kitchen. We met and chatted with them all. The food - yummy!! Local, fresh and made with love. I had meatloaf sandwich. Great taste. My fave was my son's BBQ pulled pork which was smoked for 12 hours behind the restaurant. The side of mac and cheese out of this world I had potato wedges topped with cheese, bacon and scallions. So good. Best part - I had rented a hotel that was 45 Min from Cooperstown. Oops. The dad and two other locals eating at bar helped me tremendously in finding new lodging. They gave me Many options. Turns out I rented a beautiful house on the owners' property up a small Hill. They said I could pay them after my stay. I'm from Detroit so this small town trust warmed my heart.

Food 3/5 Service 3/5…read moreAmbiance 4/5 I went into Sloan's as part of a business trip - and I certainly wanted to splurge with my plus one. The atmosphere looked promising - rustic, simple - all the signs of a good, comforting restaurant. I took one look at the menu and something truly stood out - a 3 pound tomahawk steak. Perfect for sharing with a friend or two! When the steak came out, I was in shock. I have never seen that much meat on a single platter, let alone a single tomahawk - it was truly a big steak. The steak itself was done nicely - I have no complaints. It's meat, grilled - and to the doneness I expected. My problem was the sides, which honestly could have been a bit better. The potato didn't really come with much more than a slice of melted cheese and bacon (would have liked chives or sour cream, or even a noticeable amount of butter), and the onion rings were fairly lackluster. The "seasonal vegetables" that came with the steak were also a very modest portion of... carrots. Just carrots with a sweet glaze. Not necessarily bad carrots (maybe slightly underdone), but I expected... at least one other vegetable. I think some more variety to the veggies (plus just more to eat alongside this monstrous steak) would have made this much more of an enjoyable experience. I definitely walked out that night feeling full, but not truly satisfied. My partner-in-crime and I did finish almost the entire steak, after all. Next time, maybe I order less - but I'm still going to be wary of the overall quality of the food coming out of the kitchen.
