The food is made right the first time and served in a timely manner by smiling faces. We were warmly greeted when we walked in. Not a half-hearted effort, they sounded sincere. Service was so so terrible. White guy in front of me got a plus service & I literally saw the young-ish lady with glasses change her smile to the worst b face imaginable when she noticed me politely waiting my turn. Then she doesn't bring everything out to us & stares us down for 3-5 seconds when we asked for the rest of our order. Then begrudgingly brings us melted ice cream sandwiches that were stained all over the outside like they had been refrozen after melting. On top of ALL that, there was a hair in my mouth as I was chewing the fries. Disgusting place & service. If you're white, they'll at least be polite, if you don't mind the hair in your food. So I'm not usually one to review a DQ or any other "fast food" restaurant however, I truly love this DQ. I have been there twice and in those 2 times we of course have gotten ice cream of some sort. This DQ took my order no matter how crazy it was. Yep I ordered a banana split with peanut butter and chocolate with whip cream and peanuts. Yummy!!! My hubs and I are traveling out of town. Every other place was full we mapped Dairy Queen. It was a bit off our route but it was Dairy Queen. We pulled up to the drive thru. No cars, no line, awesome right? We placed our order, pulled up to the window started the routine. Got drinks, we paid, sassy short lady cashier closes the window. Now to give it some time for our food to get to us. 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 7 minutes, well maybe they forgot. 10 minutes, 12 minutes... we peek inside, one customer, 3 workers. 15 minutes, rushed gentleman opens the window, "hey man, what did y'all order?". 20 minutes later we are driving away, now off schedule with our travel time. Honestly, I think Dairy Queen has the best fast food in Madisonville. And the blizzards are always great especially when in the middle of a mild existential crisis on a cold windy night. Texas tacos are surprisingly good for a fast food burger joint. Jalitos Ranch is probably the best burger in town. And the chicken strips are also the best strips in town in my opinion. The only real issue is that the drive thru is so short it tends to hold up traffic on the highway! read more

I would give zero stars if that were an option. We stopped by to get 5 ice creams. The person prepping our soft-serve wasn't wearing gloves or a mask. When we pointed this out, she offered to remake the ice-cream. We said ok. She put the mask on and gloves, but the mask was under her nose and then she kept touching the mask with the now-gloved hands, followed by touching the ice-cream cone. I saw two other workers. One was not wearing a mask and the second had his mouth covered, but not the nose. We told them "never mind" and drove away. read more

if i could give 0 stars i would. i hate to be "this" person but y'all need to do better. i personally will tolerate a lot because i've worked in the food industry before, but my mom has been disrespected multiple times now coming here and that's where i draw the line. one of the girls there is extremely rude. i think her name is bianey but not entirely sure. she walks around like she hates the place, talks to people like they're lesser than her, and in general has a terrible attitude and demeanor. my mom and I went through the drive thru, ordered a belt buster, all the way, no cheese. not only did they put cheese on it anyway after asking us TWICE to clarify we didn't want cheese, but when she brought our food out to us she rudely shoved it in my moms hands and walked off without saying a single word. i had to go into the facility to get them to correct the order at which i was not spoken to either. prior to this visit, my mom went through the drive thru at which the same girl rudely cut her off while ordering to say "is there anything else i need to get you? i'm trying to get peoples orders in quick so i can get the cars out of the road." one of her co workers came out to apologize on her behalf. moral of the story, the service is terrible, that girl shouldn't be working in any type of customer service, and it's not the customers fault that y'all don't have enough room for the drive thru to not lead into the road. i don't think i've ever been to an establishment that has been as disrespectful as this girl was. hire people who actually care about their jobs. read more

Nothing was open on the way back from Denton to Houston on Sunday. The service was so good for a little place and the food came out hot. The shift manager was attentive and even offered to keep my blizzard in the freezer while I ate my meal. Nice to have friendly people in a fast food place. read more

This Dairy Queen is the finest classical DQ I've been in, Madisonville is where you call it Texas, especially when you wanna eat here. Kid friendly, Drive thru, indoor car space :O it's perfect, when I entered I felt like I was in the 50s. I ordered my blizzard, and my father asked a Carmel ice cream, when we tried it, it was very, and I mean VERY good. My father tried it and it was really good. Terrible service! I ordered a number and was asked if it here or to go, I said to go. When it arrived it for here, I said can you put that in a bag. She said yes, and I said thank you. She gave it to the cook and he put it in a bag and the she asked him to give it to her, so I could get it. He refused and and she looked upset at him. It's nice and old school. Some of the food is a little bland. I had the steak fingers with a sundae. The steak fingers were bland and tasted like velvet. The sundae was good though. Definitely more of an ice cream spot than a food spot. read more

I called in an order at 8:13 p.m. they told me it would be ready in 20 minutes. I got there at 8:45 p.m. I walked in and stood at the counter for about 5 minutes while everyone was in the back talking. I could clearly see my food sitting on the counter getting cold. I finally got the attention of a manager who has short red hair. I told her I was there to pick up my to-go order and she started to make my drinks. Then she all the sudden just stopped and went on to take other orders. I finally asked her nicely if she could please get my stuff together because I was in a very big hurry. At that time she decided to take out the time to sort through all the tickets and not finish making my drinks. I finally caught her attention again and asked her if my stuff was ready and she said "oh yeah let me get it together" I'm guessing she forgot that I was standing there in front of her waiting on food. She finally got my 3 drinks made and another girl got the order in the bag and handed it to me. I went through the bag and there was absolutely nothing that I ordered in there. So they literally had to do my whole order over again. I called in the order at 8:13 p.m. it is now 9:15 p.m. and I'm just leaving the parking lot of Dairy Queen. There was 4 or 5 people that were working and only about 3 customers. The only ones that were working were the cooks. Let me just start off by saying that I love this DQ and I go here very frequently. However, today, I ordered the Belt Buster with the meat, cheese, and mayo only. The receipt said that the burger was mayo only and the waitress who brought it out to me said the same thing. When I opened it up, though, it had the lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions on the with NO cheese. I didn't make a big deal out of it, but I'm a little disappointed that there was such a big screw up. I'll still be coming back, though. read more
