My rating of one star is only because ZERO was not an option. Let me first say that I have visited this DQ for years and it has continually been deteriorating and after my recent visit I will NEVER go back. When we arrived my wife asked me to order for her as she went to the restroom (I'll get to these later). As I stood in line waiting, for what seemed to be a long time for the number of people there, a woman behind the counter was having issues with a register and was grumbling quite loudly about the "P.O.S." and then her and the employee that was taking orders felt having a discussion about that was more important than taking orders. When my turn came, I ordered my wife a small cone with sprinkles and my son and I placed our orders and I paid. After my son and I received our items, an employee advised me that there were no sprinkles and asked what I would like to do. I stated I needed to wait for my wife. When my wife came I let her know that there were no sprinkles. The employee asked her if she wanted "crunch." My wife stated she would just take the cone but then asked if I had paid for sprinkles and I stated yes. At this point the employee that was grumbling about the register, came up and stated that there were no sprinkles. My wife stated since I had paid for sprinkles what were her options. The woman then stated, I'll give you your 30 cents back and proceeded to tell the employee at the register, "Why is everyone having an attitude today." Stunned my wife stated she simply wanted to know what options were available and the woman stated bluntly, "You could have asked nicer." My wife asked to speak to the manager, to which the woman replied abruptly, "I am the manager, you can leave now," waving her hand at my wife as she walked into the back by the griddle. Completely shocked, my wife asked to speak to her and was totally ignored and we left realizing there would be no reasoning with this individual. Now for the restrooms, I don't know if I have ever been in a more poorly kept restroom in a restaurant in my life. I'm not certain which was more filthy, the sink or the toilet. Thank goodness I didn't have to sit down. I am amazed that DQ even keeps their trademark on this establishment. As I stated at the beginning, I will NEVER return. There are much better options in Payson that have similar offerings with much better service. After reading the review written by Mat P. from Gilbert and seeing the photos he had attached, the manager in the photo was same, extremely rude, individual my wife and I encountered. read more

Horrible, hot (no AC on August 1st when it is 100 outside), really old and out dated! The only DQ in town, though. Cheap owners don't really care about their customers. Chicken Strip Basket has no toast, watery gravy and yes...the employees look unhappy and snap that the AC has been broken for many weeks. The single most miserable and unfriendly young lady operating the drive thru this evening that I have EVER met in any place of business. I realize that I do not know her struggles, but we all have them and as a business owner I would never allow such miserableness to represent my business. We came to celebrate a milestone of my son's, but quickly realized that happiness is not welcomed there and won't make that mistake again twice. She did make a good blizzard though and that was the ultimate goal in going there so she can't take all our happiness away. read more

We went through the drive through and after we had ordered we sat at the window for about 5 minutes before anyone came. Our blizzards had been sitting there and were melted. There had also been a mess up and they made a blizzard instead of smoothie. The girl doing transactions gave a lot of attitude and was very rude about having to remake it. When the blizzard was melted, we asked for it to be remade and she got upset, did not blend it well, and did not fill it up all the way. As we left she slammed the window. The restaurant is a mess! I think the only things that get cleaned are the ice cream machines since that is what drives their sales in the summer. EVERYONE stops for ice cream after a long weekend camping. However, if they came inside they would notice the nasty sour smell, dirty ventilation ducts (black above dining area)' filthy windows, dirty aprons, smudged walls (check out the area around the drive thru) and the same dead bugs disintegrating in the lighting fixtures (above the dining area)for the last 6 months. Yum! The owners clearly do not care. And it is very difficult to find a recent post from the county inspectors ( last I found was 2001). Sorry...last inspection I found was 2011... read more

As much as we love Dairy Queen, this location has unusually unfriendly staff. After waiting in line at drive-through for 15-20 min., we made a comment about the long waiting time. In response, we received "You can go somewhere else", followed by "We're not going to serve you" after making a comment about their poor service. Sorry, but this is not how you treat customers. read more

Me and a friend and his 10 year old sister were finishing our blizzards when this woman turned the lights out on us because she wanted to leave it was only 15 minutes past 9. She scared the little girl, by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced! read more

We walked in to get our kids some ice cream and walked out without ordering. The place was filthy. Both the dining area and behind the counter was absolutely disgusting. There was actually a pair of used surgical scissors on the floor by the front counter. We went to McDonalds instead. read more

Waited a half hour in the drive through during a 3PM Saturday rush. Ordered a hamburger combo. So disgusted with the burger. Soggy bun. Slimey limp lettuce and onion. Thinking it had been sitting there for HOURS and they thought they could save a little time to through it in my bag. I'll go elsewhere for a burger. So gross. read more

This Dairy Queen is by far one of the dirtiest ones I've ever been in. Had I not promised my 3 year old ice cream on our drive home to Phoenix, I definitely would've left. I came in around 630 and the place was a disgusting mess, the only thing I can compare it to is a dirty hospital bathroom. It smelled terrible, the floors were covered in gunk and the lack of cleanliness from the staff was shocking to me. They were too busy breaking down and doing their closing duties that they had the customers behind me wait til they were done with what they were doing (there were at least 3 employees working at that moment). The lady behind me even asked if they were already closed and the employee said "No, we close at 9". I'm giving it one star because I don't have the option to give it zero stars. Needs a major update, and needs to get their shtuff together. Ordered three chicken basket meals and they forgot to give us the gravy for each meal. That's basically sacrilegious for any self respecting chicken eating human. read more

Went with family to enjoy blizzards and we were treated with awful customer service. If you don't want customers, just say so.

This Dairy Queen needs a major overhaul. Needs to be closed, demolished and rebuilt. It is filthy! My husband loves the soft serve which is the only reason that I will go there. Previous reviewers commented on the absolutely filthy "uniforms" worn by the employees, and I can only concur. The walls, floors, tables, and food prep area are visibly cruddy. I will not even walk into the bathrooms. Rumor has it that this franchise is owned by a local Doctor. If this is true, he ought to be ashamed of himself. read more

I'm sorry but I had to do this. For all of you who say that it is a disgusting place, let's review a couple of minor details here. As a current employee at this Dairy Queen, I do get where you people come from, but here's some things you should know. We are constantly busy. There are no moments that we get during the summer that aren't crazy. Sorry that there's a bit of a mess. Which leads to our walls, floors, etc. it is an ice cream place. People constantly spill so walking on it would cause dirty floors. Would you rather see a clean floor or get helped? You don't eat on the floor. You step on it with your muddy camping shoes. And our work shirts? There filthy. Not because we don't wash them, but because for hours we are constantly blending icecream that flings out off of the rods that mix icecream. It's a messy job. Would you ask a mechanic to have a clean uniform? So why ask us? At least we're doing our job. We keep everything sanitary to a complete extent. Never will you find that there is anything odd in what you ask for. We try our best to make others happy. It's a pretty dirty job. As for our cleaning job, needless to say we are held to high expectations. It's a very old building and very beat down but we try our hardest. If you don't like it then choose somewhere else to go. I'm not asking you to come see us. You chose to. And you spent your money on it. There's a door you could of turned and walked out of. read more
