The worker called out my order AND THEN SET IT ON THE COUNTER!!! I was so stunned at the size (how small it was) that I didn't get the chance to ask why it was set on the counter before she closed the window. The worker saw by my face expression that I was going to ask/ say something but proceeded to close it. The girl mixed up the blizzards my son and I ordered, then asked if it was ok. I said I would take my incorrect one but she remade my son's. That left one extra blizzard that had been incorrect. Service here is TERRIBLE. There were SIX (I actually believe it was seven because I heard another voice from the back) kids working and the line was out through the parking lot because nothing was happening. Don't ask me how I got hooked on this stuff since I never ate much sweets while I was younger, but this Dairy Queen was one of my frequent stops in the summer of 2011 after a tiring shift.... Chocolate ice cream with either Reese's or Snickers was what lured me in often... But they have plenty of other creations to try....burgers, fries, hot dogs, chicken finger, and other stuff... I was just there for the ice cream... They've remodeled the exterior over the Fall and Winter.. The place looks great now, not that it looked bad before.. The prices are cheaper than the ice cream truck that comes through my neighborhood daily.... My kids would love to have a Dairy Queen in the town that I live in... As far as Dairy Queens go, this place deserves a 5. DQ is DQ. Another reviewer complained about DQ being fattening? Are you surprised? Why did you go out for ICE CREAM and think it would be fat free? Anyone complaining about what DQ is, is using Yelp to make some political statement, because why else would you go to DQ but for cheap, fast, junk food? It is not homemade, nor gourmet, but it has an awesome junk food taste we sometimes crave. When we crave it, we find reason to make the 30/40-minute trip (each way) to Aston to go to this specific location. KoP's DQ or Springfield are closer (used to be one on route 3 in Newtown Square many years ago but it's gone). KoP and Springfield both charge higher prices and give you smaller portions. It is a total ripoff compared to Aston. We spend more in gas to get there, but I'd rather patronize a business that works hard to do their best, and takes pride in their output. The business at the Aston location is flourishing, and it's probably because they treat customers right. Reasonable prices, and great portions relative to competitors. A sign of their prosperity is a recent renovation. Exterior facelift, new electronic sign, new menu signs, and new seating out back. Parking lot was also recently resurfaced and new parking lines painted. (One comment about the parking lines, though, the first space on the right when you enter is impossible to park in, and never gets filled, and in the back two corners, the 90-degree angles they painted for those spaces are also impossible to fill both at once, so it was not completely thought out but fresh and new just the same.) For a DQ, it looks nice, and is kept very clean. The staff is always down-to-earth and friendly. The lines are surprisingly short when you hit them at the right time (just before dinner rush or mid-afternoon). When the lines get long, they normally move relatively quickly, and the staff seems to be really good at opening new registers as needed. Yes, a Little League team, or a rush of people who look like they crawled out from under a rock, can sometimes happen, and in those cases, it's not really worth staying. But if you time it right, this place is totally worth even a trek as long as we make to get here! read more

From a former customer of the "old" family run DQ- all I can say is stay away! There were over SIX employees just standing around. The smell of weed coming from inside of the business was overpowering!! One young lady was taking orders, collecting money and making the ice cream. The wait was long.... Really long! My son was given his blizzard-with no spoon. We had to wait longer for the girl to come back to the window.... For a spoon! We ordered a chocolate shake, the girl just handed us a vanilla one. If I could give this DQ negative stars, I would. They are the SLOWEST working DQ I've ever seen in my life. If they were any slower they'd be stopped. If they get any sort of crowd at all the lines instantly grow a mile. Without a doubt, we pick the wrong line Every. Single. Time. Never go with the line that looks shorter because 100% of the time it takes longer. On many occasions we are standing in one line and people that were probably still at home when we arrived wind up coming, get in the other line and are leaving with their ice cream while we are still standing in the slowest line. Notice I said "slowest" because they are both slow. I think they should consider having one line that wraps around and around the center space that is typically between the two lines. Think of how a bank line works...like that! If they did that, the people that arrived in the line first would definitely be getting serviced first because they would be going to the next available window versus being stuck in the slower line and waiting an extra fifteen minutes. The last two times we went it literally smelled like a trash dumpster out front and spoiled milk inside which leads me to believe that they aren't that clean. They should probably put the tip jars away. Tips are earned and they're certainly not earning them with slow, typically unfriendly service and an unsanitary work environment. We live five minutes away from this location. We could probably drive to the Springfield location and be home with our ice cream before we even made it to the window of this location. Maybe management should consider dropping by for once in their lives. I have NEVER seen a full fledged adult working here...or supervising...or managing. Wait in line for about 5 or so minutes when young girl comes out and says the man in front of us would be the last customer, they couldnt serve anyone who pulled in after 10. Couldnt believe it...we walked away with everyone staring at us line it was a joke..a couple saying it wasnt right. This location really sucks at it's job. They are only staffed by young kids with no adult supervision. We were in 1 of the 2 lines. Both windows had people taking orders. 5 or 6 kids were working. They do online orders for grubhub. One of the lines continued to be served. The other was full of people but the kid disappeared from the window. I asked the girl working the other window were he went and she said online orders. The man behind me asked if the other line was now closed and another kid says yes. They lost all of those customers as they were pissed. They have lost me as well. read more

I would have to agree with the review from August 2019. The service is extremely slow. I went and there were 7 people in front of me (thought I would pick the shorter line). The other line went much quicker than the one I was standing in. I waited 40 minutes (all because I wanted a blizzard). This location smells putrid. Every time I go, the smell is a mixture of garbage and rotten milk. I love ice cream, so I hold my breath when I order. However, I was served not only a stinky smell, but stinky service. When I ordered, I asked to have my Blizzards to go. When my order was ready, two cups with spoons in them were placed on the counter; no body let me know that they were mine. I kind of figured they were mine, so I asked Jess, the cashier for lids. She threw 2 lids at me. When I told her those lids were the wrong size, she tossed two lids frisbie style in to my direction. No acknowledgement what so ever from Jess. Bottom line, this place smells foul, customer service is poor, and I question the cleanliness of the kitchen. Being new to this area, this was my first visit to this location. I was seeing the lines stretch out to the highway driving by, so we stopped by last weekend. The lines were long once again, but they moved fast. We went with the Blizzard, which is my favorite thing to get here. It was excellent! The tables on the outside of the building were you can sit and eat needed some cleaning, but I can imagine it is hard to keep up with that when its busy. The teens working at the place turned off all the lights prior to closing time to deter people from coming in but whatever a ton of people including us still came ‍ the girl running the counter literally looks at my mother and I with daggers in her eyes and seems like super pissed that we need lids and want a copy of our receipt. We went to Dairy Queen tonight! Very excited because it is national ice cream day and after waiting in line. Had to bend down to tell the cashier what we wanted. Ordered the new royal Oreo blizzard, the ultimate chocolate blizzard and Reese peanut butter cup blizzard. After asking for lids, we left. All of them melted and leaked on the five minute drive home and got all over the inside of cup holders. Once we started drinking them because they were so melted I learned mine was not the one I ordered with fudge in the middle, it was just a regular Oreo blizzard and the ultimate chocolate blizzard had a little dot of fudge at the bottom and the Reese peanut butter cup was the one that melted the most all over the car so we haven't eaten that one we put it in the freezer to get back to solid state.. also, the workers never once flipped the ice cream over before handing it to us, presumably because it would have ended up all over the floor.
