Ham Orchards is a peach farm, market, BBQ joint, and MUST VISIT destination in North Texas. It's…read morebeen over a decade since my original visit, and a fun road trip with friends on a beautiful weekend in May resulted in an experience that made me question why it took over 10 years to return. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Pro Tip #1 - try to get there before 11:30 AM and plan your visit in May. Ham Orchards gets really busy at noon, and Texas gets really hot in June. There's plenty of parking (dirt lot), tons of people (and families), and you'll hear a musician or two playing on the guitar. 1 Star. Service - The staff is super nice. There's a market with dedicated peach soft serve lines as well as a separate building for BBQ. The two are separate, so you don't have to eat the BBQ at Ham Orchards if you only want to shop at the market. Upon entering the market, a very friendly and helpful staff member will help answer questions and guide you. 1 Star. Food - Ham Orchards is a peach farm, so I recommend you order anything that is peach infused. I went with the Peach Pulled Pork. The pork was very tender, the buns were lightly toasted, and the Peach Pulled Pork was sweet and tender. But the star of this trip was the Peach Infused Pickles. Wow, this condiment turned my "meh" potato salad into a peach infused bite that was peach sweet, pickle tart, and potato creamy. I also bought a full-sized Peach Pie from the market home. It was very good (and perfect for my Instagram feed). Pro Tip #2 - if you want to buy a pie, purchase it from the market before you eat lunch, otherwise they may be sold out. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Next time, I won't let 11 years pass between my visit to Ham Orchards. The road trip was super fun, the BBQ was tasty, and the pie I took home was a great reminder that some of the best destinations are a short road trip outside of Dallas. 1 Star

I had never heard of Ham Orchards prior to a group of Yelpers setting up a UYE here recently. It's…read morea nice little spot to have some fairly good BBQ and as others have mentioned, shopping for a lot of goodies containing peaches. I'll go ahead and get this out of the way: You can't actually pick peaches here, presumably due to legal. But they do have times where berries can be picked, although we didn't do that on our visit. Upon arrival, we were hungry, so we headed to the BBQ window, operated by area BBQ provider Eddie Deen. The sandwiches themselves were quite good, with a special nod to the peach pulled pork sandwich, which was outstanding. A generous portion of distinctly peach infused but not crazy sweet pulled pork was piled atop a fresh soft bun, it was a delight to eat. Unfortunately, the side dishes were very pedestrian and almost seemed like they were prepackaged or from a foodservice provider. But definitely get that sandwich. Moving into the store, there are tons of products available, including the incredible peach pickle slices that were served with the BBQ (great way to market the product), we picked up a package and have been loving them at home. But the best product we tried, hands down, was the peach soft serve, and I mean, it was fantastic. Impossibly smooth, delicious flavor, definitely on the sweet side. If anyone from Ham is listening, though, let me offer a bit of advice. You are seriously missing the boat by not offering a smaller serving of this stuff. GLP-1 and other factors are leading many to try to eat less and keep the treats to a manageable level; offering a "small" that's literally half the size of the current smallest offering, at 2/3 of the price, would help people with their portions and help you guys print money. Seriously, this would be a great addition to the lineup. Bottom line, it's a cool place to take the kids and most of the adults, and if you want to get your peach on, it's the place to go.

They also have a restroom in the back, and it is a one-room bathroom for all, and a one-seater. They do accept credit cards, and even give you the option to add tip. There is one good-sized table where you can sit if you want to "sit & sip" or try stuff, but it's not big enough for a huge group to eat in. Most of their stuff is made for takeout orders. Their menu seemed really intriguing, as they seemed to have a lot of juices and ice cream (more like the "paletas", which are popsicles with frozen fruits, but these are served in cups). I had a large cup of watermelon juice (delicious & refreshing!), a cup of "Mangonado" (mango paletas mixed with some chili powder & a tamarind-wrapped straw - wowza!), and a cup of "Corn In A Cup" (like corn on the cob, with some butter, Parmesan cheese, & hot sauce or mild sauce - but I chose hot sauce & loved it!). They even offer some sample cups or spoonfuls if you want to sample something before buying it. There are so many good choices - plenty of which are vegetarian-friendly - so I will definitely need to return to try more!

We ordered the jackrabbit (suppose to be cookies and cream ice cream, double Oreo in waffle cone), we also ordered one that said "strawberry cheese cake". All the flavor was highly artificial, didn't look like the photo or even come with the menu had listed. The jackrabbit was suppose to come with Oreo and to my surprise there was some milk chocolate type cookie power. It was all terrible. So thankful they were able to give us a refund after the one bite because it was very disappointing.

As we pulled up we noticed the lights were off but saw two people working inside which was weird since they weren't supposed to close until 10pm. (Got there around 9pm) I sent my daughter up to the door to see if they were actually closed. The young man working in there came to the door and told her" SORRY we are closed!" and she walked back to our car. Before she could get back in the car, another car pulled up and a woman and 3 little boys jumped out and ran towards the door. We started to drive off and my husband stopped and looked in his rear view mirror to see if they were let in and guess what???? YES he let them in. We turned around and went in to confront the man about it!!! Yes! I had to! Witnessing your children go through discrimination is not something any parent looks forward to. How do you answer them when they ask.... "How come they let them in and not us?" What do I say as a parent?! I'm tired! I'M TIRED! I'M TIREEDDDDD!!!!

We went straight to the back of the shop to watch the production kitchen where the gentleman was actually starting a process (what we learned later) of brittle making. Intrigued, and so satisfying to watch. They have free samples peanut brittle and pecan brittle. We both agree that this is some of the best. It's not the "bust you tooth" brittle (meant your candy got too hot), it's the airy, nice crunch, full of flavor, not too sweet, hint of burnt butter brittle. Yes, yes! They nailed it. It's the brittle you start to eat, and boom the package is done. Of course we had to get brittle, and white chocolate covered nuts, too. They sell a variety of sliced pies, milkshakes and cold drinks. I bet this is the place I will be in the summer, especially for ice cream. Their storefront has not been open long, but Grandma Cleda's been making brittle for generations. You can find out more about their story when you visit their shop. Two things they do amazing: they love what they do, and do what they love! Oh and they have fabulous brittle! Love in every bite.
