We walked in and were the only couple in the place other than a table that was already eating. I asked about the meal they used to have that came with a blizzard. The cashier explained they used to be 7 dollar meals but minimum wage went up so they are 9 now. Expensive for fast food but tasty. Blizzards are my guilty pleasure. I came here for free cone day and walked in since didn't have time to go through drive through. (The line was around the corner) I had my disabled mother with me so she had to wait in the car and she was feeling sad she might not be able to get her free cone. Alas, I took the handicapped plaque with me and went inside and got in a short line. A nice girl came out and said "if you're here for your free cone I can help you over here!" And a few of us moved over. She was quick and friendly! I showed her my mom's handicap placard and asked if I could get a cone for her too which she obliged. "I got you" she said. I was super happy and so was my mom! I will be back next week for a butterfinger blizzard. The only thing less than stellar is having to make a right turn on the street to get out of the parking lot and it's hard to get to the far lane to make a u turn at the light after getting on to the street. I know the lines are very long as it is drive through only and I am not sure why a medium mint Oreo cookie blizzard is a dollar more than a regular Oreo blizzard when the cookies cost the same those are not my complaint. I have gone to the Manteca location on 3 occasions to rule out any particular staff member or whatever. On all 3 occasions they had put maybe 1 cookie in the entire mix. The last time I went there were 3 of us and we all ordered different blizzards but were basically eating vanilla ice cream with a hint of a topping. I worked close to the Dairy Queen in Modesto, and I had good food with no mistakes and felt I paid a fair price for whatever I ordered. Manteca should be avoided unless you want to wait a long time for vanilla soft serve. I come to this location and I order a strawberry banana blizzard with extra graham base and the guy who made and handed me my blizzard (Gurpreet) took a long time to open the window and take my card which I understand, things get busy. When I saw my blizzard in Gurpreets hand it was not even filled up and there was an inch still empty. When he flipped it quickly, it didn't look like a blizzard, it was more like a milkshake! I returned to the store within 2-3 minutes and as soon as I walked in Gurpreet looked annoyed and said "what's wrong". I just ignored that and asked if he could just remake it. Gurpreet then dramatically holds the blizzard up in the air and drops it in the garbage in front of me while looking at me. Rude but okay. He rudely then asked his coworker to finish the blizzard he was working on so he could make mine. The coworker goes up to me and apologizes lowly to me which was kind of her. When Gurpreet is done remaking my blizzard he then dramatically holds it up and flips it... which part of the blizzard still falls on the floor from being milkshake consistency still.. then rudely puts it on the counter and walks away. First time ever comming to A Dairy Queen. I have to say I am impressed. I am not sure what's up with the negative reviews because I had a great experience. I came in around 1:30pm it wasn't busy at all. The place had maybe 4 people sitting down & eating. Very clean tables all bussed right away. The guy up front was super friendly & greeted us on arrival. I told him we never been to a DQ & he made me feel like I made the right choice by comming to try it. He was funny and made good small conversation so it wasn't a bland interaction. Also, he was wearing a bear net which looked totally hilarious lol but he wore it with a big fat smile on his face & was very cheerful.... employees like this are hard to find. Even the employees at other nicer places don't even wear these.
