My wife and two granddaughters visited Dairy Queen in Manteca for lunch. There were three other groups in the restaurant. The restaurant was very clean. We all ordered various burgers and fries. The young lady who took our order was very friendly and proficient. We sat down for about 10 minutes. One of the cooks brought our food to the table, which was a surprise. We dived into our food and it was absolutely delicious. The burgers were perfect with good flavor, a fresh bun, and very fresh veggies. The fries were to die for. They were steaming hot and cooked perfectly. We all decided to have an ice cream dessert. My Peanut Buster was a masterpiece. My wife had a Strawberry Sunday which she really enjoyed. Worst customer service experience ever! We've been going here for over 20 years and this guy with a beanie was the worst. He just looked at us stone cold! Did not say any word at all. We patiently waited. He went back and forth from the drive thru window to the freezer on the other end of the cashier area 3x without saying a word. Just intensely looked at us like we are not welcome there at all. After almost 10 minutes, we left. Time was close to 8 pm. We went to Baskin Robbins and enjoyed ice cream there. We walked in and were the only couple in the place other than a table that was already eating. I asked about the meal they used to have that came with a blizzard. The cashier explained they used to be 7 dollar meals but minimum wage went up so they are 9 now. I ordered a double burger by itself (no meal) and then a number 5 meal with an additional sandwich only. 35 dollars! I get home (a 15 min drive) and I have to double cheeseburgers plain! If you took the time to tell mw about minimum wage, perhaps you should ALL take the time to be sure you are turning out correct orders! Such a disappointment. Expensive for fast food but tasty. Blizzards are my guilty pleasure. I came here for free cone day and walked in since didn't have time to go through drive through. (The line was around the corner) I had my disabled mother with me so she had to wait in the car and she was feeling sad she might not be able to get her free cone. Alas, I took the handicapped plaque with me and went inside and got in a short line. A nice girl came out and said "if you're here for your free cone I can help you over here!" And a few of us moved over. She was quick and friendly! I showed her my mom's handicap placard and asked if I could get a cone for her too which she obliged. "I got you" she said. I was super happy and so was my mom! I will be back next week for a butterfinger blizzard. The only thing less than stellar is having to make a right turn on the street to get out of the parking lot and it's hard to get to the far lane to make a u turn at the light after getting on to the street. Ordered these after my usual #6 chicken combo sandwhich did not come grilled. *This location only has crispy chicken sandwhiches. * For certain desserts, this location did not have the shakes or blizzards. So you might want to look up the menu of the location you are traveling to before you go. I know the lines are very long as it is drive through only and I am not sure why a medium mint Oreo cookie blizzard is a dollar more than a regular Oreo blizzard when the cookies cost the same those are not my complaint. I worked close to the Dairy Queen in Modesto, and I had good food with no mistakes and felt I paid a fair price for whatever I ordered. Manteca should be avoided unless you want to wait a long time for vanilla soft serve. First time ever comming to A Dairy Queen. I have to say I am impressed. I am not sure what's up with the negative reviews because I had a great experience. I came in around 1:30pm it wasn't busy at all. The place had maybe 4 people sitting down & eating. Very clean tables all bussed right away. The guy up front was super friendly & greeted us on arrival. I told him we never been to a DQ & he made me feel like I made the right choice by comming to try it.
