Hello, I will start by saying that I go to five guys a couple times a month. But I think after this trip it's just gotten too bad. The new "manager" lady (older, Hispanic, glasses, short) has let this location go even further down hill. At least before the only issue I had was they wouldn't let me do two patties in a bowl without paying the cheeseburger price. Now it seems to be getting worse. My fries, overcooked. My burger, dry. I always ask for three of each (mayo, mustard, bbq, pickles) condiments and they used to actually fill them up. Today I got my food and they had literally put a 1/4" amount of bbq sauce in each cup. If I combined them it would not fill one sauce cup. My wife and I get all our food plain and get sauces on the side. The Riverbank location never has an issue with this, but the Manteca location always has. They give me the wrong sauce. Forget one of them or all of one type. They have never functioned well but now it's the worst. I won't be coming back. Skip the Manteca location and go to riverbank. They're good people. read more

Really good cheese burger and French fries like usual. Me and my family came here to eat and the service here was really friendly and quiet in Lathrop. I'm from the city so the only place is in South San Francisco. The ambience is like any other five guys which is covered in red and white tiles which is a really nice look they have two soda machines on the right side but everyone here was really friendly. read more

Got my usual bacon burger in a bowl. It was good. Five Guys standard. This review is more experience based. Two boxes of empty peanuts. I eat these rather than fries. We asked them and ten minutes later someone got on it. Went to get peanuts and there were no containers. Asked about those and got a strange look from the employee and he handed my a paper bag. Okay I can make it work. Went to get ketchup, none out there. Asked about it and they said they would refill the tray. 5 minutes later packets refilled but there was a sticky liquid all over the packets like something spilled on them. Needed a straw asked about them because they were out. He sighed and put more straws out. Finally eating and I notice the worker roll his eyes at this huge family walking in. So my family and I had the most bizarre experience last night. First off, it took a few minutes after we walked in to be greeted and for someone to take our order. The atmosphere felt a bit off, so I looked around and noticed about 3 parties were waiting watching the kitchen. None of them had their food yet. After about 10 more minutes all of the employees except for 1 walk out. Without saying a word. That employee turns to the customers and asks, "Did they just walk out?!" The table next to us tells her yes. That employee starts freaking out and closing up the shop. She explains to us that she's from Stockton and just went to Manteca to help them out. Turns out Manteca Five Guys had an audit yesterday and they FAILED. They must've gotten the results right then and there because apparently even the restaurant manager walked out. Maybe they quit? Maybe they were so upset they failed? Who knows. But RED FLAAAAAAG!! DO NOT EAT HERE. Thankfully the employee that did not walk out was sweet and offered to still cook our food or just offer a refund. We got the refund. I wouldn't want to eat anywhere that failed an audit. When we walked out to the car we noticed all of the employees hanging outside next to their car talking to each other and laughing. Very clean. Food was great! Mason, Angel, Quinn & Johnny were so kind and friendly to my family! Their customers service went above and beyond my expectations! Bathroom was very clean as well. ONLY COMPLAINT- IT WAS SOOO HOT INSIDE! I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW THE STAFF WERE WORKING IN THOSE CONDITIONS! I COULD ONLY IMAGE HOW HOT IT IS NEXT TO THE GRILL OR FRY STATION! Nice visit service was good place was not crowded we waited as one customer was ahead of us. We placed our order after about 5 minutes of waiting for the couple ahead of us to place their order. When it was our turn we placed our order and waited about 15 minutes while they cooked our food Burgers were good / bacon dog was great and the fries were on point. We did not run into any problems with service or our food so I don't understand why so many bad reviews. We did order. Milk shake and it seemed the person making the shake was new hey we all have to start new at something all the time so give people a break I also remember when I was learning a new job when I can tell someone is in training and I always make sure I am extra patient and kind to them. Hands down the best burgers in town. Fresh made, choice of toppings never wrong. Fries are always hot and fresh too. Clean restaurant and can openly see where food is cooked and prepped which also is always spotless. Customer service is also always great. Some complain it's too expensive but reality is it's well worth the money for a clean and friendly restaurant. read more

I'll just come out and say that I like this place. I've eaten at a few different locations. This just happens to be the closest to me. The menu is simple, but that's a good thing. It's for that reason that I believe places like In and Out Burger are so successful. Keeping it simple, but executing well with extreme consistency is the key. The burgers have always been made to order and come hot and melting with cheese. They have a very good selection of toppings to add or leave off. The fries are always abundant. At least when I come. Not only do they fill the cup, but they dump a whole lot more fries into the bag on top of it. I'm not normally a fan of dry cajun seasoning anywhere. However, the cajun fries here are addicting. Great flavor and zesty. The roasted peanuts are endless and there for everyone to snack on. Is it the best burger I've ever had?? Not necessarily, but is it a good experience every time I come? We had a very disappointing experience. 1) Shake machine was not working. 2)restaurant could not supply any ketchup because they were out.....they had bottles of ketchup but the cooks needed it for the orders. 3)The drink machine had issues and looks like they were not refilled with syrups. 4)trash cans overflowing. 5)1 of 3 workers masked. The masked worker had mask covering only her mouth and not her nose. Why bother? 6)All three workers were preparing food and 2 of 3 had gloves on...the ungloved worker was laying the buns down and directly touching food. Store is dirty. Tables feel like the have a film of grease covering them, others have garbage on them, floors are also filthy. Four of us in the store, told it would be a 30 minute wait as if they didn't want us to even order. I did receive the order in 15-20 minutes. Gone down hill. No longer offers milkshakes. The machine broke and they got new one. Now no shakes. The staff has all kinds of reason why there are no shakes. Different answers daily. The service is slow and they often get the orders wrong. Wait over 30 mins for an order placed online. They got both burgers wrong and gave us soggy fries. The place is often dirty. This was an epic fail, Worst place ever. Spent $65 for garbage food tonight. All three burgers were missing bacon. Mine also missing lettuce and tomato. Tasted like i was eating chalk. Two bites and it went into garbage. My husbands was all cheese and onions. He said he tasted nothing else but the onion and cheese. Frys were so so soggy and cold. This will be my last time at Five Guys Manteca. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, large fries and large Coke. The burger was just fine. The fries, however, were limp and greasy. In fact, the grease from the extra fries soaked the bottom of the bag where it almost broke open. To make matters worse, I was charged $30.28 for my order. I could have got the same thing at Dairy Queen for half that. It was 6pm on a Monday night and I was the only patron. With this type of treatment I don't think that Five Guys will be around much longer. read more
