Having been on that side of town during the pandemic, Popeyes was the only place I could go to get cooked food without a car. For the first time ever, they gave me hot food. Someone wasn't thinking, though, and put the mashed potatoes and gravy on its side, which ended up all over the other food and soaked through the bag. Since I was walking, I had a mess trying to get it all the way home. I live in a different location now and have been going to this Popeyes location again. I can eat indoors this time. Prices have risen drastically. The three piece chicken strips were about $7.99 and now, they're $14.99. I tried the Flounder Sandwich during Lent and it was good. However, the person behind the counter didn't understand English too well, and I ended up with the original, when I asked for spicy. They gave me the extra one, as they didn't want to throw it away, so I gave it to a co-worker. The sandwich and side item were good. Each time I go, I encounter some bit of weirdness. A few days ago, I asked if the Flounder Sandwich, and that same person behind the counter nodded and asked "Classic or Spicy", which made me think that he understood. I got a spicy chicken sandwich. You can place a mobile order 20 minutes in advance and pull up to the drive thru and they'll tell you to park on the side because it's still not done for some reason. Then you'll see people that just ordered get their food before you. This is the worst popeyes location hands down. I everytime I come here I leave angry. I stayed at a indoor waterpark about 30 minutes away from this Popeyes. I had ordered from uber eats and ordered 4 meals, I received 1 meal. The uber eats delivery person asked if that was my name on the order, which it was. On the receipt it had my original order which was $50. The uber eats guy says to call and ask about it then drive to the Popeyes. I drove to the Popeyes, still wet with my towel from being in the pool. The ambiance was pressuring, I get rude looks from the employees. I ask to speak with the manager, I tell her about the situation, she SNATCHES the mistaken order I received and is hesitant to give me my original order. She goes back and forth arguing with me. Once she gives me my original order I ask if I can get extra biscuits because of that whole situation. She said yes but ended up giving me 1 biscuit?! I had already left by the time I noticed, and I have 3 kids to feed. Overall, if I could rate this place 0 stars I definitely would. amazing service at the drive thru window by both the person that took my order, informing me what items were out of stock and suggesting new things I hadn't tried when things were out. as well as at the window with the employee Tiffany, she was amazing and caught that my drink was made in the wrong flavor, got it corrected, then offered me the incorrect drink to try as well so it doesn't go to waste. Honestly I have no understanding as to why this location has the ratings that it does. I'd like to start by saying, as a collective... it would be cool if we practiced 'pausing' before taking precious time out of our days to.. essentially make peoples individuals lives harder than they need to be. If we take the time out of our busy days to put a business down... imagine the IMPACT we could create if we took the same time to ADD, APPRECIATE, &CARE about these businesses? The customer service I received today from the Manteca Popeyes was wild. I made a mobile order online. Gave them the name that the order was under, showed them several screenshots of the order confirmation, receipt, date and time and they couldn't find it. At this point they asked me to leave their drive thru because it was on a timer. I go inside with my toddler running around (I try to avoid in person anything at all cost). They greet me, I go to the online pick up order where they don't meet me with urgency for several minutes. I then explain the situation to "Richard". Richard said he couldn't find it the order on his order screen, there was no order receipt printed out and there was nothing he could do. He recommended for me to call their customer service number in which I did. It did not take me to a live person, only a text message support system which ultimately gave me no support and just redirected me to order thru their app. I will 100% never eat here, with how rudley I was treated today Raising Cane's all the way baby! -At one point I was having a hard time finding the order number. 11/21/24 - I guess I should have checked Yelp first, and saw the one star review. I went on line to order Popeyes Cajun Turkey. Paid 80 bucks and was given a pickup window of 11-18 to 11/22 . When I called on 11/21 to confirm pickup after I hadn't heard anything from the location, I was told there was "no turkey" - no other explanation was given. Just No Turkey for you! I was told to go on to the website for my refund. I had to give my info to a bot and hope someone refunds my cash. Don't provide online ordering if you can't handle the volume. Came to this location for the first time. Dined in. Dining area was messy and only found one table clean. When I ordered my food, I couldn't hear the employee taking my order (really soft spoken). Placed an order via DoorDash. When the food arrived, the receipt was correct but of the entire order, only 2 items were correct. Tried to phone the restaurant 3 times. No one picked up and eventually, the call cuts off. So my daughter put in for a refund via DoorDash, and then drive to the Ripon location to order and p/u at the drive thru we have used door dash in the past from other restaurants w/o any problems. This is the first time we have ever encountered a problem with the order being wrong. You should THINK that an establishment would at least p/u their phone during business hours. Got the new fish sandwich, which was dood, but got only 2 stars because short on fish in sandwich. But what caught my attention was how tasty and hot the two pieces of chicken were. Cole slaw side was really bland. They did not know how to handle the free offer from promo survey on backs of receipt. When I called about the missing biscuit, I was told that two pieces of fried chicken was all that was free. I told the person on phone to check the fine print on the back of receipts. After they realized their error, I was asked to return to get the biscuit! Realizing that mostly young hires work there, I'll ask for two biscuits, with my next servey. Several months later, the flounder sandwich became available. Ordered it with the chicken sandwich combo. When I arrived to pick up order, part of order was not ready. But I noticed that a blue pack, probably the fish, was all ready, along with the chicken sandwich. After waiting for ten to twelve more minutes, the fries were available and I took my order home. My wife had the hot chicken sandwich, and I started to eat the fish. Well, it was only slightly warm, not crunchy batter, not moist and flakey. If I could give them a 0, I would. This place needs to be shut down by the health department. Went through drive thru yesterday as I periodically have. Initially ordered 1 strip and 2 wings, a biscuit, honey and unsweetened iced tea. The person taking my order (DT, employee #60039 per receipt) told me that I could not order just 1 chicken strip (although I have done this before at a few locations, including this one- Store #11580) it had to be 3, 6, etc. I told her I've done it before because I only want a chicken strip biscuit. She told me no. I changed the order to 3 strips an extra biscuit, 1 wing and unsweet tea. She then told me that they don't sell unsweet tea anymore and that they don't carry it. So much for the lies. I canceled the tea. Drove around to the window, she told me $17.97. I handed her my military ID for her to apply the military discount. She told me they don't take military discount (I had just been there last week and my son was there last night - the discount was applied). I asked her when they stopped, she told me, "We haven't given military or heroes discount in over 1 year." I knew she was lying. When I told her they just did it last week and last night. She told me they weren't supposed to have and maybe they didn't know that "we stopped it last MONTH." (less than 1 minute prior it changed from 1 year to 1 month-which further confirmed the lie). When I questioned her about her inconsistency in her story, she interrupted me and offered a senior discount (I'm far from being a senior). I settled for it and paid her. I noticed the other employees in the background looking at her as she was telling her lies about the discount. Before I drove off, I asked for a cup of ice water. When I asked her for the corporate number (as she offered to give it to me and suggested I call them), all of a sudden there was no corporate number and she suggested I download the app and reach out to them that way. This place already is going downhill fast but poor customer service and constant lies, and snappy, unprofessional treatment is going to speed up the process. I ended up not eating any of the food but the biscuits and honey. Upon further inspection of the strips, the consistency is not that of a real chicken (looks more lab created) another turn off and further confirmation that I need to stop wasting money on fast food. But definitely not coming here because the few times that either my family or I have been here, it's either been old, stale food, incomplete orders or b.s. like this. I sent a message through the app to cancel the order that same day due to my unexpected change of circumstances. I received an email the following day stating that Popeye was not able to cancel this order, BUT I can go to this same location to pick up this order. So, I did go to this same location where my original mobile order was to claim this missed pick-up. I chatted with Amanda and explained to her my situation, and she was very responsive and engaging regarding my situation. This review is based off of customer service and how long it takes to get your food. Obviously you can't really judge the food because all fast food joints taste the same as any other location and I've never had anything wrong with my food here. This location has to be the slowest Popeyes I've ever been to. I'm not really sure why they take so long to get the food out but expect to wait at least 20 minutes if you decide to get food at this location. If you're ordering at the drive through, easily a 30 minute wait. There has not been one time that I came here and got my food in less than 20 minutes. They don't seem understaffed, so I don't get why it takes so long. You would think by now they would figure to make a lot more chicken in advance, given all the bad reviews. And as some people have mentioned, they are always out of something. All in all this place deserves a 1/5 star. I've been living in Manteca for just over two years and I swear it gets worse every time I come back. DO NOT go to this location if you like to have you're order correct and receive quality food. I normally avoid the Manteca Popeyes because they either always mess up the order or there is major quality issues, sometimes both. But tonight I wasn't feeling well and unable to drive to Ripon or Lathrop so I door dashed and it came to the lovely Manteca location. In typical fashion they messed up my order. Gave me the wrong drink. And half of my nuggets were filled with some nasty yellow stuff that tasted HORRIBLE! They didn't even have chicken inside (see photo). The rest was just hard crunch batter. Only like 2 had actual chicken inside. My 8-piece nugget meal was also supposed to come with 2 packs of BBQ sauce included as per their menu/order form. They decided to only give me one.
