Who knows how many people would have perished along the modern day north-south Oregon trail that Hwy 97 is if it were not for the abundance of dairy delights and burgers this fine place provides! Not only did I pay 26.17$ for an order that was absolutely terrible, we opened the chicken strip basket that's supposed to be four pieces and we get four pieces but two of them are outrageously small, the employees stood around when waiting at counter to ask for sauce, they looked at me and walked away this place is absolutely the worst place to go for food i'd go to mcdonald's before ever coming back here. I will say one thing about the only Dairy Queen located in La Pine, Oregon. They're most outstanding quality is consistency. Both the restaurant's food and policies are consistently bad. My wife and I visited the fast-food restaurant on Friday (February 7, 2025) at 12:30 pm and ordered two four-piece chicken strips with fries. We both had DQ corporate coupons that we received through the mail, which claimed each meal was a $5.99 special. It had a provision which stated, "Limit one per customer". Having only two college degrees, I still possess enough basic math skills to understand there were two customers (both my wife and I), each having a coupon. However, the young female counter person. Stated that we could not use the two coupons. She stated that the coupons could only be used if each of us submitted a separate order and paid for it separately. I questioned the veracity of such logic since we were both customers paying for both meals together. She referred me the manager, who was eating in a booth adjacent to the north wall, for clarification. When I questioned her interpretation of the coupon, he succinctly claimed that the owners had interpreted the wording of the coupon as "Limit one coupon per purchase" instead of "Limit one coupon per customer". Dairy Queen needs to ensure more generic wording for interpretation such interpretation by franchise owners, quit sending out these coupons, or require franchise owners to follow coupon as worded, without subjective interpretation. I've had dairy queen all over the state since childhood and never have i experienced such poor quality and customer service as this one.(or any fastfood for that matter) I took my kids for cheeseburgers, fries and treated them with blizzards. We pulled right up and ordered our food with only 2 cars in front of us(one at the window, and one waiting) i joined the line. 25 minutes later we get to the window, i pay and they hand me running down the side of the cups, messy, dripping small bliazards for my kids I jokingly said, "good thing you didnt try flipping those!" She said " we dont flip at this location, only some locations are required to do that". I responded letting her know i was kidding, but as i took the blizzards, my hands became covered in melted ice cream. I politely asked that she wipes them down and secures lids on them, thats when all hell broke lose. She slams the window and storms off. Now im sitting there for 5 more minutes, stairing at the closed window when someone else, i presume the "manager" opened the window and in the rudest way asked, "do we have a problem?!!". I explained, that I just didn't want to put those blizzards in my car with them dripping all over the place. She finally hand me the 2 smalls with lids, then she tries handing me my large, it was worse then the other 2. No lid and was literally running down her hands. Again, i asked if she would wipe it up and secure a lid on it. She refused and demanded that she make another one. At this point ive been there for over a half an hour, ive got 3 cars behind me now and still havent got my food. So i hand her back the 2 smalls and ask for a refund. She then refused my refund, and when i asked why, she said its because she already gave me my food. I remained calm and explained to her that I've got 2 small blizzards and just handed them back to you. Now i have nothing and shes refusing to refund my money. So i said fine, give me the food then and i wont ever be back. So she finally gives me my 3 cheeseburgers and fries, then closes the window. I had to honk to get her to come back and give me my soupy blizards!! If that wasnt bad enough, the burgers were awful, cheese wasnt even melted and tasted stale like they've been sitting out all day. Im not one to run and write these bad reviews, but something has to give. There has to be some recourse, they acted as if they can do and treat customers as they please and there is not a thing you can do about it. So disappointed in the Blizzards we got. We get Blizzards at DQ everywhere we travel and have never encountered such soft, liquidy, air filled Blizzards as they had here. Corp DQ should look into this Location as some many reviews mentioned how soft they were. We ordered one Blizzard with marshmallow in it and the extra charge was ok. We've gotten food here multiple times but everytime there seems to be an issue. Most of the time something is missing from our order. We ordered a kid's meal with chicken strips, fries, a drink, and a dilly bar, and only got the chicken strips and fries. Other times they didn't include ketchup or didn't put a lid on our Blizzards. The food is alright, it doesn't seem very fresh and most of the time the fries are limp and soft. Came in around 8:20pm on Monday, ordered the Flamethrower combo. Fries were hot, burger was stone cold. Brought it to their attention and they offered to radiate the fuck out of it in a MICROWAVE, I tell them no thanks and to just remake it instead. They tell me they'll remake it, I get this greasy shitball back not even 30 seconds later. It doesn't even have the full list of ingredients either. I get it's fast food, and it's obvious these whales don't have any standards when it comes to the food they put into their bodies, but if you just made it right the first time you wouldn't have to deal with food getting sent back. So whoever was "cooking" that night, don't implement your gas station diet onto other people cause not everyone is a fat useless piece of shit with no standards capable of eating 5 SUVs with a side of license plate covered in mayo. Better yet, maybe stop hiring livestock who eat slop all day and hire humans with human standards. On a positive note: The girl working Register was polite and the blonde working the Drive Thru kept a smile on her face even with the issues in the back. After visiting us last night, I suggested my Son & Granddaughter stop at Wickiup Station to eat on their way home, but it was getting late, so they stopped at Dairy Queen instead. Sad Choice. Besides watching a female employee cleaning the drink machine without gloves, then handed them their food without washing hands, my Granddaughter ended up getting sick in the middle of the night and missing school today. Still very sick to her stomach today. Sadly, like many other establishments these days, they are hiring whomever they can get to apply. But the worst of it is, these employees are not being trained well or if they are, they are not being supervised well. Food establishments are one of the worst to ignore. They have caused many people to become very ill due to employees not doing their job properly and supervisors not training/overseeing the importance of cleanliness and sanitary conditions. I hope someone pays attention to these reviews and make some serious changes to training, including supervisors, as they are just as responsible, if not moreso. read more

I have been giving this place chance after chance and I keep getting screwed. Today I was the only one in the drive thru and the dining room was empty. I waited over 15 minutes for 2 double cheese burgers. Nothing came out of that kitchen the entire time. The woman handed me 2 very cold burgers. I took them in and told her to microwave them or something I don't eat cold cheese burgers. Wondering how they got cold so fast I left after they were re warmed. The edges of the burger were dried out and they initially served them to me cold. I couldnt eat them I swallowed the first bite and couldnt eat the rest. $15 wasted. There is something really wrong in this kitchen. There were no napkins in the bag either. There was almost as much mustard and ketchup on the outside of the bun as what was in it. I couldn't hold it or eat it.Let alone wipe my hands off .I had to use the bag for a napkin. I will NEVER go back to this location even if the food is free. I do not trust the people working there. My stomach is uneasy and Im wondering if Im getting sick now. Beware and steer clear.Im seriously considering calling the health department And if I did get some form of food poisoning and continue to feel worse I will call them. Worst Dairy Queen I've been too. Horrible service, lazy staff, when it comes to placing an order, it's basically like they can't remember what the back of their hand looks like. The food is awful, I don't mind if one thing is usually a problem with an order but just tonight I can count more issues than I can count on both hands. The food was cold for starters. The ice cream was basically melted, they don't tip the blizzards upside down due to the liquid ice cream they give you. I ordered a sprite but tasted like I was taking sips of some sort of carbonated water that's been sitting on the roof top all day due to no ice being in the cup. Also, don't meals usually come with fries? Ahh that's right can't remember because they didn't give us any in the chicken strip basket. This hasn't just been on one occasion, in the 5 times I've went through this line and ordered. The staff has either given me the wrong order or messed up food. Oh and the ranch is a liquid. It's not ranch when it just drips off of your fry like your fry just got coated with some sort of water repellent. Also, when I opened the carton for my burger the lettuce was just placed around the outside like they were tucking the burger in. So eat here if you just want your food to be served to you in the worst ways. Dairy Queen in la pine is awful. But I guess that's what we get for eating fast food. I definitely won't come back. The employee that made my cone lick icecream off his finger before making my cone. I watched him hold the cone in the licked hand. I paid for the rest of the order but didn't take the icecream and asked for a refund for the one icecream cone since he didn't make the other food. They were agitated at me like I did something wrong. The waiting time was 4 times longer then normal after the complaint for 2 burgers and popcorn shrimp. Food ended up tasting like garbage. We tossed out the food and went and ordered food from McDonald's. They never made the employee clean his hands and he was still making cones for the car behind us. Horrible! Tried the new dreamcicle cone. Done not taste anything like what you'd imagine it should the orange dip is closer to what you'd expect a those fake orange smell markers would taste like. The ice cream isn't good any more either. Things have changed for the worse at dq. The staff were rude when I asked for something different, dude it's not coming out of your pocket.
