I had the Italian Ice Cream Cone which is basically a meatball sub but they hollow out the roll and stuff it with the meatballs. My food was just ok - but it's hard to truly impress me with Italian food at restaurants. My only complaint was that we waited a LONG time for our meals. We were watching all of the people around us who sat after us get served their appetizers and meals while we were waiting for our food. We waited for about an hour before we flagged down our waiter to tell him. He was upset on our behalf and went to the back to tell them to expedite our food. Interestingly, our food came out not even 5 minutes later. We arrived at the restaurant at around 1:30 and didn't leave until about between 3-3:30. I was a little bummed that what was supposed to be a quick meal before we went back out on the trails, took us a long time. We purposefully didn't order appetizers or entrees because we wanted to be in and out. Even with the long wait, we would probably go back to Moat Mountain because my boyfriend loved his food so much. The place is very small and because of that you have to check in at a small window before going inside. It can get very busy and always go mid week for that reason. What the Sunrise Shack lacks in size it more than makes up for with its personality and, of course, its yummy food. It's small yet cozy and homey. The staff is always welcoming and cheerful. And perhaps most importantly, the breakfast always hits the spot. During our most recent visit my boyfriend got blueberry pancakes and I got biscuits and gravy, which I had once before and had a hankering for it again. It was just as hearty and delicious as I remembered it from the last time. The blueberry pancakes were very yummy too. As a side note, if you ask for hot sauce with your meal they have a variety bucket for the table, which is a nice little bonus for hot sauce fiends such as myself. A Packed Parking Lot - And for Good Reason!…read more During our road trip, we made a stop in North Conway, where the Muddy Moose caught our attention with its packed parking lot. But we figured it had to be worth a try! Inside, we found a wonderfully cozy atmosphere and super friendly staff. Since the wait for a table was about 35 minutes and our hotel was just a few minutes away, we decided to go with takeout instead. We ordered the Ribs, Potato Canoes, Cheese Trail Sticks, and Paradise Chocolate Cake. And what can we say? Everything was absolutely delicious! The ribs were incredibly tender -- the meat practically fell right off the bone! The loaded Potato Canoes were amazing, and the Cheese Trail Sticks were perfectly gooey and oh-so-cheeeezy! And the Paradise Chocolate Cake? Let's just say it definitely lived up to its name! All in all, an absolutely fantastic dinner!
