I think that this is an amazing Dairy Queen. One of the most notable aspects of this restaurant is that it is SO CLEAN. You just know that the cooking area is just as clean as the eating area. Another thing that I like is that they always get your order right. My grandson and I came in for lunch today, and the food was better than ever. It came out so hot that we couldn't even eat it at first! There are plenty of other choices up and down Irving Park Avenue (McDonald's is right next-door and Culver's down the street) but this is the best destination for price and quality. read more

It was a simple coffee order. Original blend ice coffee, 2 creams and 5 Splenda. I watched as the young lady made my coffee. She started with the ice then added several splashes of caramel. She then went to the coffee and pour it into the cup. When she came with my order, I told her I did not want caramel in my coffee, She stated that was the way it's made. I told her to give me another coffee. She proceeds to take the coffee that was in the first cup and put into another cup. Then adds more caramel to the coffee. I again told her that was not what I ordered. She got upset and stared another coffee. This time it was about four creams, and what taste like sugar, not Splenda. I didn't realize there was sugar until I was a good distance from the Dunkin Donuts. I don't use sugar for health reasons. So I ended up pouting the coffee out. I go to Dunkin Donuts at least twice a week. I won't be going to this one again. I'll travel the extra mile to go to one of my regular Dunkin Donuts. read more

It was an unreasonably warm day in October and we decided to stop by here for some ice cream. There's plenty of parking but only one bench to sit outside. Since it was taken we had to sit inside. Place our order, found a clean n table, and sat down. Within minutes we had our items. I had the vanilla cone dipped in chocolate - the best. This place also has a drive thru but it cuts right in front of the entrance/ exit out the door. (picture attached) I can't imagine all the close calls as a kid runs out of the store, right in front of a moving car. The food was awful. I got 2 chili dogs and the flavor was very off. I removed the chili to find a multi color hotdogs, from Grey to pink to brown. The service was horrible, they said they have me a refund but actually didn't. So I went to the drive through to find out they indeed did not give me a refund after saying they did. Ambiance was really off. Like they mustard didn't want you inside and manager wouldn't come talk to me while I was inside. Just avoid this place. I just hope I don't get sick from what I did eat. read more

Not great service today. It was pretty busy--that often happens when the weather is great in Chicago, and today was the first beautiful, sunny, warm-ish day since winter started, and also the first such day after the time change. But... it's not the first time it's been busy here, busier than this even. So I'm not sure why they were so frazzled/rude. I placed an order and before I was even finished with the first item in the order the woman was asking if that was all. I added the second item in the order and again she asked if that was all. I said yes, and then asked her to repeat my order to me since she had cut me of to start. Apparently once you say your order is complete, they turn off whatever speaker they are communicating through, because I received no response after I made that request. I said "hello?" into the speaker twice in the 1.5-2 minutes I was still there before the line moved forward, and never received a response. When I got to the window to ask that they confirm the order, it was correct, but I'm really put off by the rushing/cutting off customers and then ignoring them bit. Beyond that, their parking can be tricky especially when it's busy. There isn't enough space for them to have a parking lot and a drive through lane that goes through the parking spaces, so if you're parked and there's cars much past the menu board you may have to be patient in getting out. But they are one of the DQ's in the area that have year-round hours, whereas some others in the greater Chicago area close for winter. read more

It's the best place to go. Ice cream is great, burgers are good and they're do very nice.

I just wanted to give a lil update for shits & giggles! The FORMER-employee(she was FIRED) that I complained about in my review left me a lovely message that I just came across! She said, I am the reason she "HATES WHITE PEOPLE" Ironically enough, I'M HISPANIC!!!!! So, unfortunately this girl could not play the race card today. I, unfortunately get the impression that she uses that one a lot. This is the 4th year we order the same ice cream cake for my son's birthday from this exact location. 2 years we showed the cake decorator an image we wanted on the cake, she had us send it to her and she printed the image on the cake for us with no issue, the 3rd year we only had her write "Happy Birthday Michael", she did a wonderful job, put sprinkles around the border and little balloons on the top, although simple she went over and beyond making it look great. This year she fought us saying that every year we bring her the printed edible image that's why she did it, we don't know where to print edible images nor have we ever done that, I explained this to her but she continued to stand strong and argue we were wrong or must have ordered elsewhere even after she already said she remembered us. I didn't want to waste anymore time arguing so I asked her to just write "Happy Birthday Michael", clearly in the impression that she'd obviously do her job as a decorator and put sprinkles on the edge or balloons ect like she did in the past without us asking or like she has for some cakes already made in the freezer, I was 100% wrong. She literally just wrote "Happy birthday Michael" with no design, no sprinkles, nothing, it is VERY clear that she did this cake with no professionalism and putting her emotions into the disagreement we had doing this cake with anger and resentment to stick it to us and prove a point. On the way back from our cousin's house in the city, my daughter and I came across this Dairy Queen location. There are so few around that we were thrilled! This one also has a more extensive menu which is displayed on a huge board at the drive thru. We ordered a burger, fries, a blizzard and a cone. Service was fast and everything was good, especially their delicious soft serve ice cream. While this is not close to our house at all I'm still glad to know it's here. read more

Get your daily dose of tasty goodies and the best variety that always taste the same in each of these chain stores Some of these chain stores even have food. I don't believe this location has food since I didn't see the usual fast food aroma. I pretty look at the menu and got what I liked. I would say that this is a quick place to grab some good enough desserts and ice cream with decent taste. It's not a gourmet store and so don't expect that. Best to try their unique Blizzards ice cream in a cup where they blend the flavors and toppings of your choice in a cup. Just drop by and give it a try since there are only a handful in the city. This place is really outdated. I don't understand why the owners of Dairy Queen will not update their stores. This place has a lot of potential, but it's really unattractive. I ordered an Oreo blizzard, and oh boy was it delicious. The lady that prepared my blizzard even turned it upside down to make sure it was frozen solid. I DON'T LIKE KETCHUP ON MY HOT DOGS!!! This place refuses to serve hotdogs without ketchup. I have tried ordering, "Everything except ketchup." I've ordered, " A hotdog with mustard, onions, and relish." No matter how I do it, I still get icky ketchup. If you're a Chicagoan you're going to be grossed out at this place. It's ice cream y'all... It can really only be so bad. That being said, this one is the worst. I can remember how old I was when I was tied of dealing with this place. Now I'm just waiting for my kids to reach that age. It's open and it has ice cream, but that's it. Your kids will be happy but you might not be. Always out of stock. Thirstiest employees who talk on the phone or to each other like nobody's there. My kids learned about hickies at Dairy Queen. Deathtrap entrance. The drive thru ends at the front door. Today was the worst service at all times. The speaker needs some upgrades . I had hard time placing the order today. We have ordered two medium-sized blizzards. As I paid, I thought wow prices went up.She put my order in a brown bag. As I pulled away from the window, and of course, there was a line of cars in the drive-through I the come to find 3 instead of 2 blizards each different size in my bag. I hate this location. Their blizzards don't have the same ingredients that the other ones do. This is the second year in a row that their s'mores blizzards doesn't have the chocolate bites with marshmallows in it....they only use chocolate "chips" and graham crackers. Sucks. The people who work here are the sweetest! The drive-through line can get long yet they run this location very efficiently so the line moves quick. Because it's a chain everything is pretty standard however, I like that I can customize. I don't like Oreo cookies. Perhaps I am only one on the planet? So when something has Oreo cookies I substitute brownies. It's so much better! The only improvement I recommend is to be able to use my DQ app at your store. Fantastic people are here. read more
