This McDonald's features the new design and with well communicated order screens at the dual drive-through lanes. I couldn't tell whether they were still offering the breakfast menu all day, but happily decided on a double cheeseburger, fries, and orange juice instead of pop. I kept eating, looking for the bite that would explain the line, the anticipation, the months I'd spent wanting this. A little smoke. A tender piece of beef. Any sign of life. Nothing. There's a particular sadness in a bad meal you've looked forward to. You've already imagined how good it's going to be.
