I don't normally go to Dairy Queen but I did today. The food was good but I think the prices are a bit higher than my usual Whataburger triple with cheese. The onion rings were very good. I had two different staff members came to my table to check on me. Service was also much faster than Whataburger. Staff was friendly, and courteous. Inside was clean and looked pretty new inside. It stayed busy during my visit but no one seemed to wait very long. Lawanda the cashier was very nice as were all the staff. They frequently came out front to clean up and visit with customers. 6.19.22 We went through the drive-thru for blizzards for Father's Day. (Did not realize they only had 1.5 stars before.) They were very busy. The drive thru line was long and moved slow. I have never been to this location before so I don't know if this is because it is H O T in Texas and everyone is looking for ways to cool off or if they are always like this. I will say the customer service was LACKING. The gentlemen who was working the drive thru was not pleasant even borderline rude. (If you find your job to be this unpleasant then maybe you should look for another one...food for thought...) We ordered 3 blizzards and they all were very good. We all enjoyed them. The drive thru was very busy, but the employees came on the speaker and let us know it would be just a couple minutes. Wait wasn't too bad, and got our ice cream very quickly. The white lady behind us in a white Suzuki Outlander was yelling at the employees and the manager. I stopped by for lunch today because it was on my way back to work, and ill just start by saying from this point forward I'll be driving out of my way to eat elsewhere. I got a 4 piece chicken strip basket. The strips were all very small and very dry, the gravy was extremely bland, French fries stale and undercooked, the bread tasted something like styrofoam and the soda was half flat.. not what I wanted to spend almost 10 bucks on for lunch!! I used to love dairy queen, but it seems like they've really dropped the ball as far as quality goes. There was no burger on our bags and when we asked for the burger, the employee said that he did put the burger in there and when he found the burger was on their counter, He didn't even know if it was the right burger. We ordered 2 double meat burger combos with cheese, and one with jalitos instead of fries. We were asked to pull forward, and about 5 minutes later, got our food. We opened up the bag, and noticed the fries were only half full, and the jalitos were burnt. I paid an extra $1.20 for those burnt jalitos. I went in and exchanged them for full containers of cold fries. Came back out, and realized the only thing they put on the burgers, was meat, cheese, and mustard. No veggies at all. So we had to go in yet again to try and get the toppings for the burgers. By this time, our burgers are as cold as the fries, because apparently this isn't a "fast" food establishment. When I walked in, there was an employee sitting at a table who looked like she was napping. I don't know how hard it is to make food like the menu says, but this place is ridiculous! The only thing consistent about this location is their inconsistency. With our most recent visit, we were left waiting at the drive-thru speaker with not even so much as a greeting or "please hold" for five minutes. After that five minutes, we drove up to the window to see three employees behind the counter with no acknowledgement. This was at 6:30pm. Previous visits have also had terrible drive-thru experiences, and very inconsistent hours like being told at 8pm "we closed" and then them being open until 10pm the next day. If you want Dairy Queen in Brenham, I would suggest going to the one closer to downtown. Their yelp reviews say only 1 star, but they are a few years old.
