Pssssst, The Dairy Grove is the place to be! I've recently accepted a life long mission to conduct an honest and fair icecream tour of America, and record my findings for the benefit of the people. Since I'm a nomad, I'm constantly visiting new places and always looking for the best scoop around the country. My mission entails high priority research, to ensure the respective Icecream location meets the crucial criteria set forth by our founding fathers. Criteria includes, but is not limited too: -a wide array of flavors / options -unique choices or seasonal specials -fair prices -fun facilities & accessibility -sensational staff -Samples ... I am pleased to report the Dairy Grove marks all those boxes, and then some more! To start with, they have Dole Whip! So I no longer need to take a horrid Frontier Flight just to go to Disney Springs and get Dole Whip. I can just come here when in town! And you don't have to worry about that pesky Mickey Mouse and his Clubhouse delinquents stealing your icecream - trust me, we've received multiple companies.... I will note, Buyer Beware, the Dole whip flavors do change - they only offer two dole whip flavors per week, and post the flavors to the Facebook. Hopefully you have the Facebook if you're contemplating on going for a particular dole whip flavor. Beyond the Dole Whip, though I could go on and on, the icecream is fire as well. I got a bunch of scoops to try, including coffee, something super chocolaty with chips in it, pumpkin, and lemon cheesecake. All were phenomenal. I also got a scoop of Superman to go, and was pleasantly surprised that it's the real deal - a mix of flavors, not just food colored-chemically treated vanilla, like some of the other imposters out there. The location is convenient, right off Center Ridge Rd, with ample parking, and there's a drive through! There's also plenty of areas to sit outside, if you don't mind looking at the competition (pulp juice bar) next door. The hanging lights and neon signs make for a fun night time vibe. I didn't visit the restroom, or pay attention as to whether they allowed peasants to use it, but I will update this review next time I go to Dairy Grove. Overall , If you're looking for a good sweet treat, I highly recommend! Plus, This would be a fantastic place for a date, as long as neither of you are allergic or lactose intolerant. read more

Amazingly good place for ice cream. Dairy Grove has the best frozen treats in North Ridgeville. It has a large selection. For a place this small it has a lot. They even have Dole Whip. Basically this is no frills. It has a few tables outside if there even are any that is. They do have a drive thru. It might be quite a line. The last time here it was backed up. Much rather go here than a chain. They have quite a selection. All kinds of soft serve in cones and cups. They also have rotating flavors of Dole Whip. It's about $3 for a medium. This is one of the better prices around here for this. If you want something greasy you can get it also. There's the usual like the burgers and fries. It still is a local favorite. Long lines all the time it seems. The waiting sucks but it's worth it though. read more

Shhhhhhh. **whispers** You don't have to go to Disney to get Dole Whip! Dairy Grove offers rotating flavors of Dole Whip, ice cream, and sherbet. They are a small, non-chain ice cream shop with a drive-thru and a walk-up window, a few chairs and tables out front, and a small play set out back. One of the Dole Whip flavors today was mango, so I got that, and my husband got a swirl cone of orange sherbet and vanilla soft serve. For both us it was $6. Much cheaper than Disney and I stayed in my air conditioned car! Very nice young ladies at the window too. read more

We used to call this place Karen's but now that it's under new ownership I guess we will have to find something new as well. This place never disappoints, not then, not now. I love the fact that they have added a few non ice cream items now. There is something here for everyone, soft serve, traditional dipped and let's not forget - DOLE WHIP'S. The only downside is getting in and out. If you go at a busy time you will be there for awhile. We always park at the bank next door and that solves that. We visit Dairy Grove regularly, love the Dole Whip and the peanut butter custard is awesome. However I was very disappointed tonight when I got home (ordered to-go) and found a hair in my custard. I had to throw it in the garbage. I noticed when I was waiting that none the employees were wearing hair nets or hats. I would like to suggest that, for sanitary purposes, all employees wear hair nets or hats. read more

This is an average, at best, place. There is limited parking, and only one way in and out (unless you do the drive-up window. My wife and I once owned and ran a very successful ice cream restaurant (not something that I would recommend doing due to the long hours, narrow profit margins and weather dependent business), so perhaps I am a bit too critical when I review such an establishment. I always order a milkshake ( choc, or choc/PB) and I consider myself to be a good judge of this type of drink. My shake was not as thick as it should be and the flavor was somewhat bland (too much milk). The prices were a little on the high side as well. Having gone to nearly a dozen ice cream places in the area, I would rank this experience in the bottom third. read more

This is a typical ice cream place with a variety of ice cream choices. We are following the Lorain County ice cream trail, and this was next on our list to try. I had a small chocolate sundae. The ice cream was good and I think I got more whipped cream than ice cream. Others had specialty sundaes and milkshakes and liked them. The setting is nice, with several picnic tables and also playground equipment for the kids. There is a drive thru window which could be convenient. The one really funny thing is that because Center Ridge is under construction and there are orange barrels everywhere, the store made up 3 different sundaes to look like barrels. I did have a little taste of both the ice cream and the soft serve. The ice cream was too sweet. The soft serve was perfect. The drive thru was slow, but then again this was during the COVID pandemic so that's the only way you could order. Everyone was smiley and quick to take our order. They have DOLE WHIP here!!! If you love Disneyland, you know what that is and I had to try it. Here they call it Dole Soft Serve. Today they had mango and strawberry dole fruit flavors. I got the twist of it in a cup. Amazing! Delicious! So fruity and not too sweet. The flavors of Dole change weekly. This is seriously the best soft serve around. It is sooooo good. We discovered Karen's this summer after moving to town a year ago and we are happy we did. An easy and quick drive thru window adds added ease. There is also a super cute and family friendly grassy area with picnic tables to sit. Overall- 5 stars. The parking lot and drive thru have literally the most asinine set up...I waited in line tonight for 38min, and Not because I was too stupid to get out of line, but because I couldn't get out! They have added painted parking spots with stops at the end of each one that butt up to their "drive thru", so if you try to get out of line, on one side you run over the stops, or on the other side you would have to roll down a hill to the bank parking lot. The whole front of the lot is a mess and has a HUGE pot hole. I guess the owner didn't know when spring was coming to have the parking lot ready for customers. When I finally got to the window, the girls working were so pleasant and apologetic, which I appreciated-They obviously had nothing to do with the situation. I only wish the owner would have been there to see what a fiasco her new parking lot was. I hope Karen does not think any customer should have to wait in line almost 40min for a small cone!??I know I won't again. read more
