Avon Dairy Treat has the town's best ice cream. It always seems like there's a line. Surely because they're very popular. Has lots to choose from. They even have Dole Whip. Good flavors of ice cream. It has a decent size menu. This is a small place so it's not like there's that much you can get, but there's a good variety of cold and hot stuff. It has rotating flavors of a few. They have several ones of Dole Whip. It's about $3 for a medium cup. They always seem to have pineapple. It has a covered seating area. Lots of places to avoid the sun. Owner is extremely rude and has horrible customer service skills. He spoke so rudely to my dad basically screaming "oh well, it's your problem" and then slamming the door in his face. Come'on, man -- you own a business, be respectful. He escalated a situation that was easily solvable... one of our orders, a shake, feel off the serving counter. Rather than doing the right thing, the worker failed to address the situation.. when I brought it up her response was "you gotta pay full price for a new one"... it wasn't like I ate the damn thing and halfway through came back and asked for it to be remade... the straw didn't even make it into the cup! The customer service is so poor here that there is no way I can recommend or support this establishment any further. Obviously, money and ego is more important than anything else to them... and unfortunately, this situation was responded to in such poor manner. read more

This place is HORRIBLE. One star is generous. I came here with some friends and one of us ordered a Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae but it came with no hot fudge. We politely asked them to fix it because it was just vanilla ice cream and a brownie and they refused. The owner was incredibly rude, said that he wouldn't put hot fudge on the sundae, and said that the sundae comes with what was on it and nothing else. He told us we could buy a new one but there was nothing he could do about it and was not kind about it in the least. Overall a horrible experience. Possibly the worst customer service experience I've had - owner of was extremely rude and disrespectful. Do not come here!! It's horrible!! read more

Ice cream's OK but the service was TERRIBLE. I asked for a brownie alone with sprinkles for my son. No ice cream. He has sensory sensitivities when it comes to food specifically and this was supposed to be a treat for both kids. THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. I got a hot fudge brownie sundae. I took a couple bites and then realized that there was no hot fudge. Me and a couple friends went up and asked for more and we were told that we couldn't do that and I would have to buy another one. Then we went up again and tried to be respectful about it. Horrible experience - ordered and received a large ice cream cone - in a minute the ice cream fell off the cone into my hand - I explained to the server and asked for napkins to clean up and a smaller cone since the big one just fell over - he said anted to change me $3.50 and said I wasn't 2 and should learn how to hold an ice cream cone - I believe he was the owner and he is just a ride fool and lost any future business go somewhere else where owners care about customers and treat people right read more

Great local ice cream stand with a lot of different menu offerings. I've only had their soft serve though and it's fantastic! Service is fast and friendly and they take credit cards! Yesss! (I hate carrying cash) There's a small parking lot and plenty of covered seating areas to sit and enjoy your frozen treat. They're a seasonal business...I believe they operate from May - September. Just a great hometown ice cream shop! The service is always fast and friendly with a smile, even though a lot of patience is required with some of the smaller and indecisive clientele. We are lucky enough to live within bike riding distance so we venture there quite a bit in the warmer months. Always a treat! Favorites are their ice cream sodas and chocolate malts! read more

This little family-owned shop is great. Everybody in the area comes here and a lot of kids walk or bike from their schools or neighborhoods. Bike rack in the back. There are plenty of sunny and shady spots to sit and you don't feel cramped or feel like it is too noisy. The only downside to the outdoor concept is that there are no restrooms and rain really makes visits unenjoyable. The parking lot is nice because they set it up to where you drive through rather than backing out onto Detroit. Sometimes there is a small line but the line does keep moving. The Dole Whips are a favorite and are a lot like the ones served at Disney. Only wish they had a dairy-free soft serve option made with soy or almond milk for all of the people who have chosen to cut out milk. read more

customer service was like nothing ive ever experienced. My daughter asked for an item made with frozen yogurt that she didnt like. Within 2 minutes she'd returned to the counter and explained that the dessert didnt taste as she'd expected and asked if it could be remade the conventional way-with standard soft serve. She was made to pay for the remade order. I told her to go back and ask for the name of the woman that served her. I figured that this business's owner needs to know that this particular employee was not even TRYING to make the customer happy. Afterall, arent repeat customers the foundation of any successful business? Apparently not this one. Turns out-The employee not only works there- but she claims to also OWN the place. Said her name was "Reynolds" and told me she offered my daughter a lid so she could take it home. Smh... If you're looking for soft serve, this is a good stop. We were told repeatedly that pretty much anything can be done in a cup, but cone ice cream has limits. Something about physics and getting crunch topping to stick to chocolate dip, I don't know, I'm not a scientist. I had a flurry of butterfinger and nestle crunch - would have liked the latter to be crumbled a little more, as it felt a bit like eating a chocolate bar, but it was otherwise just what I wanted. I'd like to see a better display menu (vs the random bits of paper everywhere, hard to review quickly) and a few more interesting options (like girl scout cookies or brownie batter). 3 stars because it's just like any other smalltown twist shop, happy to boost it if they seem to stand out on a later visit. read more

I really wanted to support this local business and went there excited for some of the unique offerings. It was hard to see the menu and the man who served us wasn't nice about answering questions. We got one frozen yogurt and one blizzard-like treat with snickers. The snickers treat was so bland and one bunch of big snickers chunks but not really mixed in. It was bland since it was just vanilla ice cream with the chunk of snickers. I took some cash back to the window and asked if I could BUY a side of peanut butter topping or chocolate fudge or something to add to it. The same guy was SO RUDE and said they don't sell sides of anything. I explained that I wanted to add it to the snickers treat and he said 'You should have thought of that before you ordered it. Maybe next time!' I was pretty flabbergasted since I wasn't asking for it free or being super critical. I literally had a stack of ones in my hand with every intention of paying for anything additional. This really left a sour taste in my mouth. Not only was my dessert pretty expensive, but the manager/owner person was so mean about it and didn't care if I didn't like it. If he had some reason for it, maybe it would have made sense. I really hate to not be supportive of this small business, but I'm weary not to provide this review in case a kid would have the same experience. It was mean and unkind, even if it is their policy and they are free to execute it. Just a bummer not to have a better attitude to your customers and just care about their experience a bit. So I would suggest you get something plain and enjoy their soft serve/frozen yogurt options. Maybe think twice about custom treats or anything more detailed. read more

This is the best Ice Cream stand in Avon, we stop every week on our way home from fishing at Lake Erie, they have large cones at a fair price and are always friendly. I like the red and white nostalgic colors on there building and the park like setting behind the ice cream stand where you can set and eat your cone. read more

I am shocked that the owner is so mean and inconsiderate had me pay double for an ice cream I didn't want nor ate my son orders a blue raspberry vanilla dip cone and she got my order completely wrong. Instead of refunding me the money for the wrong order she made me pay for both when I called to discuss my dissatisfaction instead of holding the line up she was worse over the phone wow just completely disgusted..btw I am a resident and will be sharing my experience!! Came here for dessert on a Saturday night. There were a few patrons in line and sitting out back. Placed our order and it came out quickly. I had the brownie sundae - the brownie were two small pieces served on the side of the sundae (a little unorthodox), but it tasted okay.
