As like many of these places, it's seasonal and closes when it's cold. It has a good location at the docks. The menu is about what you expect from a place like this. Ice cream is the main thing here. Pretty good prices. A lot of classic and interesting flavors. They have slushies in flavors that include banana, which tastes like banana flavored syrup. It's about $1.75 for a medium. They have hot food too. It's typical greasy stuff like burgers and hot dogs. They have a decent sized menu but it's mostly fried items. It didn't have much of a line the last time here. Atmosphere - Very Good. The building is well kept and everything looked clean. The menus are easy to read. There is plenty of parking available. I did not see any outside seating, which would have made this an excellent experience. Service - Excellent. We were greeted by a pleasant and friendly staff person. Our order was prepared in a timely manner. Food - Excellent. There is a decent selection of food, but we were there for the ice cream. I ordered a medium chocolate and peanut butter milkshake and it was absolutely delicious! It was nice and thick and the blend of chocolate and peanut butter was perfect. I'm fact, it was one of the best that I have ever had (and trust me, I have had a lot of milkshakes) Overall Value - Excellent. My favorite ice cream is still the best ice cream in Vermilion. It never changes, and for that I am so grateful, because it's so nostalgic of my childhood. Literally, even just the soft serve is something I think about. If we're anywhere near Vermilion, stopping here is always a must. I just want to give a big shout out to the hardworking gals that have been working here this summer. During a pandemic, they typically have one gal managing the line and making sure people are staying six feet apart and adhering to the line formation markers on the ground. Masks are enforced, and though the staff have always been fast, they appear to be operating at lightning speed so that no one ever has to linger for too long. Walked over to Romps while checking out Vermilion after kayaking. My friend got the orange cream soft serve $2 and like it. I had a little bite right off the top and it tasted like a creamsicle. I don't recommend the vanilla strawberry swirl. The strawberry is very fake tasting. Not a real strawberry in sight. It was disappointing.

This is the only place I would consider eating soft serve ice cream or hot dogs. If that's not a good review, I don't know what to say. You will find a wide variety of soft serve treats (all with nautical names) and a limited food menu. My favorites are the flurry (ice cream mixed with your choice of toppings) and the buoy (ice cream, fudge and peanuts on a stick dipped in chocolate).
