The ambiance was absolutely perfect, and the music complemented the experience beautifully without being overwhelming. The food was phenomenal. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and melted in my mouth. Paired with the perfectly prepared lobster tail, it made for an unforgettable meal. The whipped potatoes were incredibly creamy and delicious, and the lemon pound cake was the perfect sweet ending to dinner. I also have to rave about the watermelon margarita--it was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and one of the best margaritas I've had. The service was outstanding from start to finish. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure every detail of our meal was perfect. If you're looking for an exceptional steakhouse with amazing food, outstanding service, and a wonderful atmosphere, Mercantile Chophouse is a must-visit. I can't wait to come back!

What a great experience overall on our first visit to The Mercantile Chophouse. We were celebrating…read morea birthday and had six people in our group. We were seated promptly for our Friday night, 6:30pm reservation. Tables were well spaced and never felt cramped. We only ordered the bread basket, You Knead This, as an appetizer; opting for salads to start the meal. The Merc, The Chopped and The Grilled Caesar were liked by all. I personally had the Chopped and it had a great mix of texture and flavors with candied pecans, pickled onions, mandarin oranges and a sweet poppyseed dressing. All six of us ordered steaks, two ribeyes, three filets and one sirloin. All were cooked perfectly ranging from rare to well done. They were well seasoned and most of us chose the Gorgonzola Bacon Butter which was a nice addition. The Brussel Sprout appetizer is a huge crowd favorite, but the side dish is only charred. However, you can request that they prepare them the same way as the appetizer. They were delicious and so were the Au Gratin Potatoes, which were baked in their own little metal crock. Dessert finished up with a Key Lime Crème Brûlée that was delicately flavored with a light touch of lime. We also had a Brownie Sundae that was delicious as expected. Customer service was on point from the greet to the farewell and everything in between. Overall a truly flawless experience.

The tea is the worst I've ever had, tastes like they were making lemonade and added a single tea leaf to it during steeping. Fries are obviously frozen from Sam's or Costco. Serving sizes are average for the price. Some of their appetizers are nearly as expensive as their entrees. Our server was nice and attentive. We came around 6pm, it was nearly empty. Nickel back was blasted on the stereo and car auctions on the TV's.

This place hadn't gotten a lot of reviews but it was worth the five stars I'm giving it. The place had lots of parking and we could see when we walked up it was crowded, then we heard the live Blue Grass music playing which made my wife very happy. We came in and were greeted and told to order from the counter and they would bring out the food. I ordered the Reuben which if on the menu is how I judge the food overall. This Rueben was the second best I have gotten in NC and close to first. Perfectly made as traditional styled Rueben it went well with the local beer I ordered there. The music was a good touch and pretty good, we were told they have music regularly and also trivia and bingo. I recommended it for the food, service and entertainment.

Place was packed, yet we still got seated faster than you can say giddyup. Our waitress Alicia was an absolute saint, ridiculously attentive, friendly, and probably the only reason the rodeo crowd didn't start a stampede in the dining room. I went full health nut and ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad. Big mistake. Not because it was bad, but because I'm in a wings restaurant staring at lettuce like a traitor. The "croutons" were these adorable little pretzel bites, which is the most chaotic but genius move I've seen since someone put pineapple on pizza. They were legit tasty. The dressing? It showed up, did the bare minimum, and called it a day. Tangy enough to remind you it exists, but not memorable enough to write home about. Overall, solid experience. The salad was good, the service was great, and I didn't get trampled by any mechanical bulls. Would absolutely come back, next time probably just to order actual wings like a normal human.
