We have seen this restaurant so many times while shopping at the galleria so finally decided to have lunch while doing our Christmas shopping. The ambience is very nice, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. They offer a few lunch specials if you scan their QR code lunch menu. Overall we weren't blown away by the food, especially for the price. Most menu items were around $21- $23, and while we didn't have an issue with any of our food, it just wasn't blowing us away. read more

Popped in to the Daily Grill while killing some time at The Galleria before a flight. We were on the hunt for a restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and bar area where we could chill out for a bit, grab some happy hour drinks and get a bite. The Daily Grill checked all those boxes! Service was fantastic and the food was didn't disappoint. Food: Despite it being Happy Hour we ordered the ahi tuna sashimi (comes seared) off of the main menu. It was a larger portion than the special deal. Great flavors and we enjoyed the pickled cucumbers and spinach chips. The Turkey Club was a nice size and all the ingredients were fresh. I liked the thinly sliced red onions and thick cut bacon. The fries were pretty good, too. The Philly cheesesteak was super cheesy and we recommend. Swung by for a weekday lunch and found Daily Grill to be overall just okay. Nothing really special about this place. Pretty dim lighting but the restaurant looks nice after the recent remodel. Service was alright but nothing great. I had the turkey club with sweet potato fries. Sandwich was decent but over priced at $20. The sweet potato fries were lukewarm and didn't taste cooked all the way when chewing them. Everything just seems overpriced since they are catering to people at the hotel or conferences being held in the ballroom next door. read more

Staying at the Westin hotel and this convenient restaurant located right outside the doors is part of their package so we checked it out. Both of our orders looked delicious but we were disappointed in the taste. My salad was a bit wilted after further inspection, the tuna tasted a bit fishy (I quit eating it to be safe, it was that bad), and the rice noodles were stale. Although the dressing was delicious I wouldn't order this again because there were too many things questionable about it. The tacos looked good but the chicken also tasted funny so we quit eating that as well. We came back for breakfast the next morning to use our voucher and give the restaurant another chance and again, food looked delicious. Eggs were good, breakfast potatoes were good but cold bread and the pancakes were undercooked and had no flavor. I spoke to some staff at nearby stores who frequent places inside the mall for their lunch breaks and they told me that the daily grill used to be good but has gone down in quality recently which is a shame. I hope management can turn this place around and bring up the service and food quality because it's a convenient location with a relaxing atmosphere and seems to be a nice bar .. if they can get the rest right again. read more

Came here for a business lunch with my contractor manager and we've been here twice in a row! Gotta say, they serve up some pretty good food here! Nestled in the heart of the Galleria near the Capital One Cafe, the Auntie Anne's Pretzel stand and the hotel next door, The Daily Grill serves up some delicious American food. They even have a nice bar with TV's to enjoy some drinks and specials. The inside was nicely decorated and simple. With a green/white theme along with good hospitality and friendly staff, everything comes together quite nicely! I've dined here twice over the past few months for lunch and their selections are very good here. The first time I came I got the Turkey Club (similar to a BLT) with some french fries. They both came out fresh and delicious! The second time I came I got the BBQ Bacon Burger with french fries, and man oh man that was probably my favorite one so far. My dinner at the Daily grill reminds why I don't eat at hotel restaurants - even though this establishment is cleverly disguised as a standalone establishment, as it's actually located inside The Galleria mall and not in the Westin Galleria proper. Don't be fooled. The service here is prompt and efficient. The ambiance is actually quite pleasant. The food itself is very average and mediocre. I started with a cup of New England clam chowder which would have been stellar chowder as it was perfectly thick and full of clams. Sadly, though, it was extremely salty and had this floury consistency to it, almost like they didn't fully cook down the roux. My turkey club was good, except it came with raw red onions, which I loathe and the menu didn't say that. No biggie, I picked them out, but danggit I could still taste them, wouldn't you know? The side of onion rings were over fried plain and simple. Inedible. And so, I didn't eat them. Was Daily Grill bad? Not really. Was it amazing? Not really. I'm in no rush to come back. read more

I came in here for a breakfast and had only 45 mins before I had to be at a meeting. Unfortunately I lost 10 minutes waiting to be seated in what was a nearly empty restaurant. Get the watermelon Mojito and the Louisiana wings, which tasted very close to traditional buffalo wings meat always worth it when you're in the Galleria I don't like to come very optimal when I do some annual clothes shopping. I think the last time I went to the Daily Grill was probably back in the spring of 2015 when I had to pick up a jacket that Club Monaco was keeping for me. Thankfully yesterday when I came for lunch, not only does the place look like it has been completely renovated since my last time here, the menu looks like it has kept the same great recipes as I remember but the lunch service was quite remarkable. For starters we got the calamari and my parents decided to share the fish and chips while I got a plate all to myself because I was very hungry. In the end though I couldn't finish it all by myself. The calamari was super fresh and did not have the frozen taste that a lot of the restaurants' appetizers carry. The fish & chips come in a large plate. The fish is served atop the fries and it is a massive portion like our server told us. Their coleslaw is not your traditional coleslaw - be warned: it has peanuts (if you are allergic). I am not, so I REALLY enjoyed it. Also, the fish and chips do not come with tartar sauce. It is served with a remoulade just like their calamari. Their remoulade was perfect. It is not too spicy and the kick that you do get is just mouth watering. Unfortunately we did not have room for dessert so did not get to see the dessert menu. One of the most disappointing and super overpriced breakfasts we've had in ages and we have breakfast out every Sunday. Only went because we needed to do some shopping at the Galleria and I'd always been curious about it. It's a travel day and we're in Houston visiting some of our old haunts and getting a little shopping done. After all that walking it's time to eat and here we are. We started off with the clam chowder, it was delicious. Plenty of clams with a few vegs thrown in for good measure. The bowl was huge and priced a lot less than bowls of lesser quality. We ordered the pan seared Asian Sea Bass and Spicy Shrimp & Chicken Pasta. The sea bass was nicely spiced, cooked well and very flaky. The spicy pasta was spicy as advertised. There were plenty of large shrimp & an equal amount of chicken. Our server was excellent. Always nearby to refill drinks or remove plates. Overall a nice dining experience. What a weird experience. 7 minute wait at the front desk. No one seemed to be working it??? Then we were served someone else's used butter packet (aka trash) with our bread. When our food came out, it was decent. Unfortunately our waiter disappeared for the next 15 minutes after bringing us a container so we couldn't pay our bill and get out. The food was good, but it was a Sunday and they were out of a lot of things. BUT what makes this 5 stars is the service. One of my friends is gluten free and our server made sure she was OK. I also got a Moscow mule. The cheeseburger sliders were flavorful and juicy and filling as appetizers. The tacos however, left a lot to be desired. The chicken was dry and the taco as a whole was bland and lacking of any flavor whatsoever. It desperately need more salsa and fresher veggies. My Moscow mule was pretty good! My grievances with this place was the utterly slow service and lack of attention from our waiter & the mediocre food. Nice ambiance for a mall restaurant. We went for breakfast. A nice variety of menu items. Right before we received our check, we were asked if we were hotel guests (which we weren't). So I'm assuming that they get a lot of the hotel guests (the Westin that's attached to the mall) and they can just charge the meal to the room...which would explain the overpriced menu.
