Goat bones and fat. This is what they now serve as goat meat for 15 dollars.

The ambiance is dirty, and things are all over the place. They don't care about the customer service, and the food used to be great, but it has went down hill Dramatically.

This is the kinda spot you take a Valium for, the size of a thump before setting foot in. The area is in a place where you wouldn't be caught dead just a few years ago, still has it's issues today but hey, when the food is this GOOD, this CHEAP - who cares whether you get punctured lungs or you make it back to your car...I'm kidding. It's tucked away right on Chicago Ave & East Franklin in a hole in the wall type of mini mall. Right in the area are a couple of other good spots too, to lunch grab and go - Great Dragon & Best Steak & Gyros. They have got Subway too, for those health-conscious intelligent people. Minimal decor, low lighting with clean space, the servings are huge and you won't find anthing above $8. It's a strictly Somali menu with a mix of Middle Eastern. But what I love the most about this place is the (Mandhaazi) similar to a donut, not as sweet. It is a triangular/rectangular fried bread served with tea/coffee and with Sambusas/Samosas, which are my favorite appetizers here. A triangular crispy fried shells filled with your choice of shredded beef/fish/chicken and other various fillings. The (Nafaqo) is also pretty good here - a boiled egg enveloped in mashed potato. While you may walk into an atmosphere of concern here, you are guaranteed to leave with a smile so big, it will rock you out of andropause and back into puberty.

A mega menu dominates the counter.

I went from hooked to addict after my second visit to this hole in the wall 10 years ago. It was the Sambusa that keeps me coming back. I saw staff come and go while the non-existent decor slip south. I live and went as the staff went form owner/operator 5 star courtesy to rude-care-less-we-don't-have-time-for-your-additional-instructions, to good and acceptable again.

all this for $6 after tax!

I didn't have a reservation and i could sit at the bar, but the server seeing it was just me, took me in to the bar area where there were some single high chair tables. The places is hopping and I have a feeling this is always the case so service can be a bit slow. I tried a local beer and then decided on a good old fashioned burger, but was able to subtitute my fries with mashed potatoes. Once the food was ordered it came out fairly quickly. Burger was awesome. I just didn't see condiments on the table, but I'm rather a plain jane for food, unless I had ordered the fries. I was wavering on dessert but then I saw the giant peanut butter cup filled with marshmallow fluff, so it was on. I was planning to come back to try the ricotta pancakes and bring back some peanut butter cups for my staff, but time got away from me. So if y'all are reading this review, is there a way I can get these shipped :) If in Minneapolis again will definitley be hitting this spot up again.

Bison burger patty had a charred taste. The garlic dry rub wings have a good salt and dryness to them. The flourless chocolate torte is a satisfying dessert. Rich, creamy, tangy, and indulgent. A buddy of mine and I both ordered an Excelsior hazy IPA. delish...Our server was super nice and even took a picture of our group. I split a bison burger with sweet potato fries and a bison pizza with one of my friends. We ordered the fried sunnies for the table to start off with and my other friends got the chicken Caesar salad and wings and roasted brussel sprouts. The sunnies were awesome with a flavorful dipping sauce and the fishiness was just right. SCORE! The burger was juicy and had some kind of sweet chutney on it and the bun was perfect and the pizza had lots of meat and cheese on it, it was perfect. They give you a bunch of fries and they are not soggy like a lot of sweet potato fries are. I asked for a side of mustard and it became Heaven....So good! My friend's salad was huge and everyone loved their meal. The space was beautifully decorated with a large bar area and an open kitchen, where you could see the cooks applying their wares. Great food with lots of laughs and service equals five stars.

However, I realized that it was early November, and some of the usual players were done for the season. As I was about to admit defeat and grab something from Panera, I see Scratch Food Truck and I was saved :) They have a nice selection of sandwiches; I was heavily debating between the pork & shrimp patty, the sesame beef, and the fried chicken. The jalapeno slaw on the fried chicken sandwich won me over in the end, though. The fried chicken sandwich comes on a long bun, and is absolutely delicious. The slaw is spicy and tangy, and paired with the crisp fried chicken and mayonnaise, it makes for a very excellent sandwich. They make their own chips here, too, and you get a very generous portion with your sandwich. I'll definitely be coming back here.

There's a selection of sandwiches and wraps. I went there yesterday and they had rolls on the menu! Two of us ordered the Pork/Shrimp sandwich, and another the sesame beef. The sandwiches are definitely large in size, perfect for any large appetite. Comes with tasty fried chips....not sure what the oil used was but very tasty! Everything is made to order, but still a quick turnaround! The pork/shrimp sandwich came with (what I believe) a tasty mango-type slaw and 'mystery' sauce that really created a 'light' asian taste to it. Not heavy at all, regardless of the size of the sandwich! All of us enjoyed our lunch and plan on coming back for more!
