I was told they are now under new management. The restaurant is located on the Tombigbee River so if you're lucky to have seat next to a window you can watch the river traffic or you can step out onto the "patio area". Service was great as usual. Menu options are limited- Catfish is the only fish option, there are crab claws, hamburger steak, chicken fingers to name a few. THE SLAW is still the same- it has always been a favorite. OVerall it's a nice place to go hang out if with a group.

They weren't crowded or busy (first hint on a Sat night) but our appetizers were small and salty. Around the table, entrees took a long time to arrive then were wrong, barely warm and just simply had very little taste. My HB steak was just a burger patty on a plate with some canned brown gravy dumped on top. No toast or anything. Was supposed to come with a baked potato but came with sweet potato fries. Even the slaw they've been famous for for years and years, was just not the same and wasn't good... We won't be back.

Great choice for the two of us. We both left full and very pleased with not only the food but also all the updated to the interior.

The dining area could use some updating as the signs still have the old Ryan's signs on them so investing in yourself is so important if you want to stay around. The dessert bar is more extensive than the main bar. There are more dessert options than there are meat/vegetable options. The people of Thomasville AL have a sweet tooth and I'm not mad about it. Let's talk salads for a second. The salad bar has small fans blowing directly onto the lettuce as well as the condiments (dusted your fans lately). The food was not good but the service was and for that I have to give a great nod.

Our query for a seafood restaurant led us here, and at first glance almost decided to leave. The seating was minimal and we had to walk up to the counter to order. While waiting, we realized it is primarily a seafood market and take-out orders for cooked food were the main business. But the reviews were great, so we gave it a try. We were amazed at the quality and quantity of food we got. An order of crab claws and shrimp came with over 40 claws and about ten shrimp, all fried to perfection with the best tasting breading ever! The atmosphere was like old time New Orleans, on the wrong side of the tracks. But relax your snobbish standards a bit, and enjoy your seafood the way it is meant to be served!

Overall 4 Stars If…read moreyou want a decent Po-Boy in Meridian, make a pit stop at Seafood Express. Get your gas and chips but you GOTTA' get their sandwiches! Ambiance - A locally owned gas store / deli, you can order a variety of FRIED food, both Surf or Turf, plates, family style or a la cart. The only fresh seafood they might have is Crawfish, when in seasoned. There are three or four small tables to seat and eat. I recommend as order as takeout. Service - the staff were fast and friendly. With a steady supply of locals coming through, they ready to take your order. The deli section is stocked with a lot of fried items so you can get your food quicker. However, I would recommend to get one of their PoBoy sandwiches. You won't go wrong. You may have to wait 5-10 minutes but it worth it. Food - 4 Stars Shrimp PoBoy combo w fries and drink. $13.99 I would have given it 5 stars but the fries were overcooked and too crunchy. The quality of the potato of the fries could be better too. The bread was fluffy and toasty just as it should be for a PoBoy! The amount of shrimp was overwhelming. See pictures. The sandwhich came w lettuce, onions, pickles and tomatoes. No mayo. I ordered the 8" combo meal but they have a 6" size, if you counting your calories because your cholesterol will still be high with the amount of fried food! Oh, I forgot, they have shrimp fried rice too. So get a side order! I forgot to order mine. Bummer. Enjoy

I honestly couldn't tell if they were crawfish or shrimp - they just tasted burned. Their custom "voodoo sauce" is overly sweet and the sandwich would have been better served by a standard remoulade or even just mayo.
