The 2 lobster Cantonese Orange Chicken, (rear) Shrimp Toast after we started eating.

My wife and I went to Dah Lee yesterday, it's been a minute. I had lobster Cantonese on my mind forever! Ever since Hoi Ming closed in W Sayville it's been very hard to find another Chinese restaurant that makes Quality Lobster Cantonese. I asked if they had it today, our waiter he should I said I hope soo, he said what if I have 2? I said I'll buy 2 anyway. Because I'd like to have leftovers it's been so long since I've had it. From the egg drop/wonton soup, the crispy not oily egg roll, boneless ribs,(not hard and sugary) just perfect they tasted like meat cut off of spare ribs, crunchy, tasty not oily shrimp toast, To my wife's Crunchy Orange Chicken (she was in love with the taste and texture) to my 2 orders of lobster w/ white rice on the side. I was back at Hoi Ming and some of the old Chinese places my parents took us too as kids. Great Service! The only thing missing was music in the background for ambiance. I would give it 10 's if I could. It was very nostalgic and Delicious. If you're looking for a little reminder of old school Chinese this is the Place! Don't sleep on it!

    Sesame tofu

This was a delicious and satisfying meal. The portions were generous and well priced. They were more than happy to replace the meat in the sesame chicken with fried tofu to make it vegetarian, and OMG, it was bonkers good. The tofu was perfectly crispy and soft inside and the sesame sauce was addictive. I highly recommend this spot for vegetarians because you can make almost any dish vegetarian. The service was also incredible - there was only one waiter working, but you would think there were four. The restaurant was bustling and he was bombarded with takeout orders, but he calmly handled everything efficiently and was so helpful and nice.

    "Vegetable Dumplings"

I ordered vegetable dumplings and they brought me pork. I brought it up and they just argued with me. They told me that they would show me the packaging. I told them I don't want to see a package, I want vegetable dumplings. They didn't correct the problem and I didn't eat them. They still charged me for them. The other dish was steamed vegetables and it came with hair it in. This place still charged me full price.

Great food! Just wish they had the added Thai menu up because we would have ordered more.

I been coming here for the past year. Food was good. I didn't bring it to their attention I don't think I need to. If 2 different dishes has 2 different bugs they already know they have a big problem. I got chicken and veggies and found what looked like a basement cricket leg in it. My wife was asleep but when she woke up I told her so she proceeded to inspect her chicken and broccoli. Right on top of a piece of roast pork clear as day was a little roach. I didn't call them or go back to request a refund. I will never go back because that shit is gross

Cockroach fried into the general tso's chicken

Absolutely disgusting. There was a german cockroach fried into the general tso's chicken! when i returned the food and asked for a refund the staff gave me a hard time and tried only giving us half of the money back. DO NOT EAT HERE. extremely unsanitary and obviously have no consideration for our health safety.

Wonton Soup and Wide Crunch Noodles

Discovered this place a year ago ( I'm not from the area) but it's a great old style Chinese restaurant you just don't see around anymore because everyone's gone "Fusion". I'm glad they're still original. Food was delicious especially the Wonton soup! Broth has flavor. And it's hard to find a place that offers wide crunchy noodles. My only criticism is the dining area could use a facelift. A bit dated.

Quality of food has definitely changed. Used to be the best Chinese in town and my last experience was pretty awful.

Seeing they had a Wednesday special, I decided to put off my adventure from Roslyn to Ronkonkoma from Monday to Wednesday. I also found a bunch of things I was interested in to pad my experience and make the drive worth it. The waitress came quickly, got our drink orders, took a few minutes, and we started our order. I started off by getting the Fire Island Fries, the Flanagan's Nachos minus Jalapenos and Chipotle Ranch, sub the chicken in, the Fish and Chips special with additional pay for French Onion Soup and Curry sauce, and my friend got the Penne Alla Vodka add chicken. I asked how the Mozzarella sticks were and she said they were very popular so I got those as well. We'll start with my addition. The mozzarella sticks are good. Fried properly, not raw, not burnt, you get I believe 9 in an order. I greatly enjoyed them, however I would never pay more than a buck for a small brick of cheese. They were great, but not that great. The nachos were very barebones, something getting them at full capacity wouldn't have done much for. The queso is gross, and put me off from eating too much. The avocado was a single, sliced avocado which is fine, but pretty hard to eat with chips. The chicken was a bit of an issue, not tasting great. The fire island fries were good, I enjoyed the flavor change, but I feel like some cheddar would have made them from "good" to "amazing". Adding cheddar to my leftovers later confirmed that. The french onion soup was the shiniest turd I've had the experience of eating. It is the best of the worst, in every way. The cheese tastes a bit off, the broth did't have much flavor or salt, the onions were sour, and overall it looks tremendous, proper quality, but tasted like I was eating expired progresso with some sour cheese melted over it. I love proper French Onion soup, but this was very difficult to force myself to eat. The penne alla vodka was fine, but they could have added more salt, it just felt a little bland. The chicken was hard and dry. It didn't work with the dish itself, it felt like eating two different things at once, neither of them tasting as good as they should. The fish and chips were the real star. The fish was as crunchy as you expect, the chips were proper chips. The curry was hot but delicious, everything was absolutely fantastic. If I was reviewing on the fish and chips alone, this place would absolutely get five dtars. But they need to work on the other areas of their menu, they're heavily dragging this place down. I also got the donut with ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. A donut from dunkin would have been better in my opinion, and you would save $10 assembling everything yourself. Finally, the service. It was very here and there. At first, we were getting checked up on often, but at the end, there was a good 20 minute stint where they wouldn't show up at our table and we had to flag them over to get our check. I'm not rating this against them, but I would have liked a little more observation. It was a one and done place, with excellent fish and chips this side of the pond. If I was closer, this would be a Wednesday night thing, but I'm too far to justify that.

The bartenders were fast and efficient for a wedding of about 100 guests, which was a huge plus. I did hear from a few guests that some drinks weren't immediately available because they needed time to chill -- totally understandable given the timing and setup. One of the highlights was how they worked within my budget while still delivering great customer service with both food and drinks. I also want to shout out an employee who kept mopping the floor throughout the event due to a leaking AC -- that extra effort didn't go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated. That said, there were a few areas that fell short. For a wedding, timing is crucial, and unfortunately, not all tasks listed in the contract were completed -- including timely arrival, full decoration setup, and breaking down all tables and chairs afterward. These small gaps made things a bit stressful during an already time-sensitive event. My family decorated all tables themselves which caused them to be so stressed out instead of enjoying the whole wedding. I believe with more experience handling weddings specifically, the team will be able to execute more smoothly in the future. There's definitely potential here, and I hope this feedback helps them grow and improve!
