Disgusting... food splattered on the walls at dining tables, all surfaces filthy, floors are filthy, floor mats are filthy, cob webs everywhere. the more you look around the place the worse it gets. The meat was old and over cooked to hide its age. Awful. The business owners should be ashamed of themselves. This is my favorite Chinese food in the area. Having been used to the plethora of amazing Chinese food in Brooklyn, finding this place was so great! I love their lo mein, fried scallops and their general Tso. The only annoying thing is they're pretty pricey. An order of lo mein is $19, which to me, is absolutely insane. They also charge extra if I want to swap the pork fried rice that comes with a combo to a shrimp fried rice because I don't eat pork. Still, I recommend it if you're looking for tasty Chinese food in the area. read more

The food here is fantastic! Any of the bad reviews are from years past...I work in the area and a few years ago I would have said the food was o.k. - in fact, I rarely ordered from there anymore, but just recently, I decided to give in another shot and WOW it was AMAZING! I thought maybe it was a fluke but then I bought lunch for my colleague and I a week later, and, again, amazing. Everytime I go, the food is fresh, clean, and light. I was telling another colleague who lives in the area and had the same earlier experience as I...he texted me a few days later and said he ordered from them and his entire family couldn't believe how good it was. I recommend their food without hesitation. The only lacking thing is the ambience but I would rather them continue to spend their time making amazing food then painting their wall (it is clean, just not very pretty). read more

This place is a staple of Bohemia. I never in my life have experienced such amazing food. Ive been coming here for 5 years and it was one of the best decisions i ever made! This was the worst Chinese food I have ever had. From the bloody teriyaki beef to fatty beef in the beef and broccoli. How do you have bad wonton soup? Only plus was it was cheap. I got what I paid for. read more

Not a particularly appealing decor, but good food with plenty of seating. Much better food presentation than the typical take-out, more akin to a table service restaurant. Better than the Chinese place across Vets Highway, by a mile (pardon the pun). The food at Red Apple has been consistently good the many times I've been there. read more

Ordered food for delivery use my credit card and they charged me twice when I said something to them they said that they refunded it but now it takes over three days to get my one payment back from them and their food was wrong read more

I used to get my Chinese takeout across the street on Vets Highway, but had a little problem there and got some stomach issues, so I went to Red Apple and found the food to be quite excellent. The place is now mostly a take out kitchen, although it does have a decent size eating area with tables. Whenever I go there for take out dinner, there is rarely anybody seated, but Lunch may be different. True, it does not have much visual appeal, but the food is great and looks great as well. So far I've been to Red Apple once and I must say it was a good experience. The staff were nice and easy to talk to and the menu is pretty big. I got roast pork and broccoli and it was good. Their fried rice and lo mein both were loaded with veggies and the restaurant itself was cut and clean. I would go back for sure. read more

This restaurant has good food but....how and I will say it again can the board of health allow a place this dirty to stay open. I had no idea since we always had food delivered. When I went in everyone just sitting there and two little girls (theirs) playing on a filthy floor. Get out the cleansers and scrub brushes and clean this place up. In NYC eating establishments have letter grades posted in their windows. It is time for consumers on Long Island to see the same thing here. read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE! The people are nasty and rude. They have no consideration for people who use to order regularly and there food isn't even good. Not only will they be rude but they can't even seem to get your orders correct and then when you call to find out why they blame you and refuse to give you the correct dish you ordered! I went here last night even after reading how the place was on the inside. When I walked in the place was a MESS. Looks like it is under renovations or so I hope that is what is going on because the mirrors are all streaked with something and there were only a few tables very dingy and nasty looking. But I have to say the man that waited on me was really friendly and the food came out quickly. When I ate it I have to say the food was really good. I was shocked. I got the General T so's Chicken because people on here said it was good, and it was. I also got pork lo mien which was pretty good. I have to give them props for their egg rolls they were so good and crispy. I ordered Szechuan Wonton's not bad and also ordered steamed dumplings which were a little bland. But for the most part I was shocked on how good the food was. The prices were not to bad either. I hope the owners read this and fix the place up most people would not order after seeing the place on the inside. read more
