This charming sandwich shop is one of the locals' secret dives. There is nothing fancy inside here except for the pure goodness of their food! I got their Big Bad Wolf sandwich (pulled pork, ham and bacon with bbq sauce) and it was AMAZING! I got the half sandwich along with chips/drink. So good!!! You order from the counter and they bring it out to you so the service was just fine! If you happen to be in town, you need to try this place out!! read more

Wow oh wow! Dagwood slaps (which means it is amazing in slang)! Great service - lady at the counter was so cute and patient making sure each order was put in correctly. Food made to perfection! Food rolled out the kitchen fast and smelling mmm mmm gooooood. Sandwiches were so so tasty! This place is a must if you are in Mexico, we will be back so soon! Def recommend longhorn sandwich and add Buffalo sauce! read more

Dagwood's is a great little local sandwich shop. I usually get the Big Bad Wolf, but have had 3 or 4 of the other sandwiches and they are all very good. Their Chili is home made and pretty good and the service is always friendly and fast. I come here at least once a week and always look forward to eating here. read more

If you love sandwiches, this is the place for you! This isn't one of those Subway-copycats. This is homemade food and it surprised me just how good it was. I was traveling from SE Iowa to SW Missouri and there's not a ton of food options aside from Jeff City. We stopped here and were really happy. I had the German dog, my husband just had ham and cheese. Well I was a little apprehensive when they came out and told me that our sandwich was taking a little longer because he was using a new sausage. That was a wasted worry!! The sandwich was delicious; their bread is very very good. My husband enjoyed the ham and cheese both sandwiches were toasted which was a plus! Definitely would love to come back again but since were traveling I'm not sure will be this way again but If you're in the area, give it a try you won't be sorry! read more

OMG this Reuben sandwich is fantastic. Sorry about the bite out of the sandwich in the photo, but as soon as I tasted it I had to write this review. Possibly one of the most home-made tasting, delicious Reuben sandwiches I've tried, with correct proportions of meat, cheese, sauerkraut, and dressing. If you like Reubens (or I guess sandwiches in general) and are in Mexico, MO for lunch, do not pass this one up! read more

Fun little sandwich shop in tiny Mexico, MO. If you are ever in the area it's definitely worth the stop. I got the dagwood sandwich and it was really good. The bread is fresh and they serve the sandwich hot. They also have a bunch of fun desserts if you are into that from pies to rice krispy treats. I got the half sandwich, chips, drink, and a dessert and it was about $9 so I thought that was very reasonable. Friendly service as well. Just be prepared for everyone to stare at you when you walk in to see if they know you since it's such a small town. read more

We were driving through Mexico and found this little gem. What a great spot! If you're traveling through the area make sure you stop. There were threee of us that ordered different things and loved each of our toasted subs! The staff is friendly and the homemade desserts are amazing. Dagwood's is a sandwich lovers dream. Try the Ozark for some sweet bbq, the buffalo chicken for some kick or the Reuben with the right amount of kraut. My husband swears by the potato salad, and you can NEVER go wrong with a dessert, which are homemade delicacies in my book! We love this place! read more

This is a first trip here, but definitely wont be our last. The sandwiches are absolutely delicious! On the same level or above Jimmy John's or Firehouse. This is probably the best place to buy a sandwich in Audrain County. They have a variety on different sandwiches for a fair price. My personal favorite is their "big bad wolf" sandwich, if you enjoy meat you'll love this sandwich. Their soups are pretty good even though they come in small quantities. The service is friendly, and the place is clean. This is basically everything you'd want in a sandwich shop. read more
