Such a bustling place! Seems like the whole town knows how pleasant Highway 54 is. Great service with a friendly staff! Waitress was very attentive. Food was hot, fresh, and yummy!! I can definitely understand why this place is busy on the weekend. Would definitely recommend this place in Mexico! Our food was scrumptious - ordered biscuits and gravy, pigs in a blanket (pancakes wrapped around sausage links), veggie skillet, Greek omelet. Biscuits and gravy weren't very exciting (as compared to our other dishes) but still filled the belly. Grateful for Highway 54 Also appreciate the festive Christmas decor on the inside.

We stumbled upon this place on our way to Jefferson City. It's a very popular place with the locals. The prices on the menu are very reasonable and from what I can tell from the other patrons, they are very generous in their portions. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries and my hubby ordered the cheeseburger with a cup of soup.... which was chicken and dumplings. The cup is really a bowl. My hubby said they are good but didn't have much chicken. The bacon cheese burger came with two good full slices of bacon. They toasted the buns just like I like it. It's a big burger for the money ($8.99) fries are included.

    Pork chop, not center cut.

The Service was great, but the food we'd give mixed reviews. I ordered the pork chops & my husband ordered breakfast. My salad & baked potato were great, I thought the ranch dressing tasted homemade. But my pork chops were very disappointing. The menu says center cut, but they were more like pork steaks, fatty & boney. They looked good but were tough and not center cut. My husband asked for hashbrowns with a little bit of onion, they were crispy, but fried in oil with the onions on top, not mixed in. The eggs & sausage were cooked well & the biscuits & gravy were delicious with plenty of gravy.

Their food has always been good & the servers are always on the move to make sure everyone is happy. I'd rate this restaurant a 5.

Not expensive but the food is good and seems to be made to order instead of thawed and reheated like most places.

From the moment we walked in we felt very welcome, even when they found out I had a gluten allergy. Everyone was so nice and several staff, including the owner and his wife, talked to us about my allergy. (I wish I had gotten their names) I felt confident that I wouldn't have any issues eating here. My husband got the fried chicken, baked beans, and macaroni and cheese. He said his meal was delicious! I had the pulled pork with Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, potato salad, and collard greens. I asked for the BBQ sauce before I saw the pulled pork. The pork was so delicious and moist that it didn't even need the sauce! All of my food tasted amazing! We also had a sample of the smoked ribs. We have had ribs in some of the best places in STL and KC but these are by far the BEST ribs we have ever had and they didn't have any sauce on them! We will be getting the ribs when we go back. The prices are comparable to any other area restaurant, not too high for what you get. We definitely recommend eating here!

I ordered a simple meal, something beneath my usual standards... but I was feeling generous toward the common experience. What I received was a lukewarm disgrace: limp onion rings that looked as though they'd been swept from the floor of a middle school cafeteria, and a burger assembled by someone who had clearly lost the will to live. And let's not overlook presentation. My food arrived looking left out.. and I don't mean "left out of the spotlight." I mean literally left out, as in "abandoned on a counter until hope died." The onion rings sagged like wilted roses at a funeral for dignity. To the management: if this establishment were a stock, I'd short it into oblivion. If it were a horse, I'd stop betting on the race entirely. Never in my life has a $12 meal made me feel so spiritually bankrupt. Now don't think I'm just some rich guy expecting a five course meal, I have ate at sonic my whole life, the last being last week. But this establishment was absolutely repulsive. Don't believe me? Go and get yourself some onion rings, or cheesy tots. If you crave disappointment with a hint of despair, by all means, pull into this Sonic.
