I was in a party of two and we ordered a small veggie pizza and falafel with hummus...40 minutes later still no food and no one has given an update. It's no longer busy. When we finally flagged down wait staff (our server was nowhere to be found) we were told they just put it in. So our server clearly never put the order in. Once the food came, my companion's vegetable pizza was burned. My falafel was barely warm, not fried, and soggy. There was no hummus to be found. The side salad was beautiful and tasted great. once I picked out the giant pieces of onion. The 1000 island dressing was excellent. The restaurant was busy when we arrived so I'm guessing locals like it. Perhaps we just came on an off night. But we certainly won't be back next year.

First off, their website is odd. Not much information, quite confusing, sometimes it won't even load (on mobile device), so if you're trying to make a reservation, call them directly. Location, beautiful, along the river, great outdoor seating. I'm sure dinner and sunset is stunning. Good, it was okay. We ordered kids breakfast, huevos rancheros skillet thing, chicken and waffles, biscuit and gravy, and the whisky flight. The huevos ranchero was good, nothing to rave over but good. The chicken and waffles didn't come with syrup at first, I'm sure it was a mistake. The biscuit and gravy... looked amazing, but the biscuits were hard. Like rock hard, and even after sitting in the gravy, no moisture would come back. Haha Service... the lady was so sweet, but she kept forgetting us, she would place hot things right in front of the baby where she would easily grab it. She had a hard time splitting the bill. Ultimately we had to ask another waitress for water refill and splitting our bill. Maybe we will go back... but not in a rush.

The panacotta was velvety with a fruit reduction, the tartness of the fruit played really nicely with the smooth panacotta. The mango lassi sour drink was also really good, a good mix between beer and mango. They have an outdoor dining area that is under a roof and another festival style eating area. Both are great with the summer weather!

A LOT OF UNTAPPED POTENTIAL ===========================…read more My husband and I stopped in on Monday, November 18th around 2:00 p.m.. There was hardly anyone inside, yet I had to wait ten minutes to get a table. It went downhill from there. One server for the whole restaurant is a problem. I just ordered a beer and fries. It was cold so my husband just wanted tea. The first cup tasted like coffee that he doesn't like. The second cup was cold. He gave up at that point. That said, we really did enjoy the food. It was BOGO beer or pizza. The hubby partook in a beer and we opted to share an appetizer of cheese curds and a fish and chips. I will say I was slightly disappointed with our curds. They were small and most were just empty pieces of batter. The people beside us got a beautifully breaded batch and much more. They tasted good, but still disappointed in the lack of curds (the empty ones). The fish was nice and light and not fishy at all. I really enjoyed the coleslaw and my husband likes the fries. It was just the right amount of crisp without being too much and the perfectly flaky fish. The price wasn't terrible and the lake view is very nice and relaxing.

There's a very long winding road to get up to the brewery, with plenty of parking just outside of the main building. The interior of the brewery itself is brand spanking new and beautiful inside. There's a lovely view of the surrounding area, just gorgeous to look at on a sunny day. We were warmly greeting upon entering and given an overview of the beverages on offer. There were a good choice of beers to choose from, along with non alcoholic beverages (seltzer and soda) as well. We sat outside under a shaded canopy at a picnic table and enjoyed the nice summer weather for a while. Slake also had a concise menu of snacks and food items to order from as well. We chose the table olives and the chips n dip - both were tasty and hit the spot. My hubby and step dad loved the beers they chose and my mom and I enjoyed the flavoured seltzers from City Seltzer. Will absolutely be coming back again for a visit sometime soon!
