I saw Dr. Trites because she's a hormone specialist. As a senior, I've experienced hormone depletion. I had a long consult, and hoped to be prescribed Testosterone, to help keep muscle and make muscle, and other benefits. At the end of the appt., she told me, "I'm not that kind of doctor," one who prescribes. Instead, she told me to change my life style, eat better, like most doctors tell you. That won't help me with hormonal needs. I was VERY disappointed. A long appt. for obvious, basic advice! She's nice, but didn't help me, so I'm looking for a new gyn. She was the second gyn. I saw at Facey. Both disappointed me. Based on years of experience, I can't even trust any nice ppl, or I should say, "nice." (In any line of work.). Nice office and nice doctor. However, be prepared to wait. I had an appointment and waited almost an hour past my appointment time to see her. Staff should call and tell patients she's behind. I took off work early to come and could have just stayed at work since she took me almost an hour late. I value other peoples time and my own, so be prepared if you come here . Doctors take an oath not to do harm. Dr. Trites did me harm. She is very sweet, but she lacks common medical knowledge, so in my opinion, she should not have a license to practice medicine. She did not take my pain seriously, she withheld important information that was in my test results, and she refused to treat my condition. She doesn't think the birth control pill has side effects, and she doesn't think fibroids can cause pain and bleeding. Twice she told me I "shouldn't have side effects" from the birth control pill. Then I went to her with heavy bleeding that was causing anemia and crippling abdominal pain. She said, "It's probably just perimenopause," but ordered an ultrasound that found a fibroid. When she emailed me the ultrasound results, she didn't mention the fibroid. She wrote, "Your pelvic ultrasound shows no signs of anything that would cause irregular bleeding or pelvic pain." I asked her if the fibroid mentioned in my ultrasound report could cause pain and bleeding. She cut and pasted the same answer, "Your pelvic ultrasound shows no signs of anything that would cause irregular bleeding or pelvic pain." I asked her again to address the fibroid. She said yes, I have a fibroid, but "this would not contribute to bleeding." It's common knowledge that fibroids can cause extreme pain and heavy bleeding, so I have no idea why Dr. Trites said otherwise. I highly recommend finding a different doctor if you want one with basic medical knowledge who takes your pain seriously. read more

After 55 minutes of waiting in the room, in those very uncomfortable garments, she was with another patient. I had to find a nurse in the hallway to ask if they forgot about me. At which point I was asked if I would like to see another doctor. Not sure how much longer she was going to take if I had not left. Apparently this is the norm for her. I can't imagine how anyone would allow to be treated this way when there are thousands of good doctors out there. Which you would think when I checked in they could've told me "just so you know the doctor is behind 30 minutes". And then I waited and waited and they string you along "you're next". Finally the doctor comes in and didn't know how long I had been waiting?? She agreed it was unacceptable but like how are you not aware of how behind you are?? And then she wants to small talk like I don't have other things I need to be doing. I guess if you block out the whole day then there's no stress but otherwise it's really crappy to let people sit for that long and not give them an accurate depiction of when they will be seen. I don't usually write reviews, but I feel like this one is warranted. I did extensive research before settling on Dr. Trites. I feel like there were not many options within the medical group that I am a part of. I saw Dr. Trites for my regular annual well woman examination, which are free of charge and no copay. The Dr. was 30-35 minutes late to my appointment. I spent this time on the uncomfortable examination table waiting for her to see me. She did the examination and made some small talk while she worked. I was later billed for a new patient appointment in addition to the annual well woman examination [which was 100% covered under my insurance]. I was not seen for any extra amount of time, if anything I was rushed through my well woman examination because she was running late. Fast forward a few months later and I am having some pretty scary issues. I consult the Dr. to try and get in to see her and make an appointment. I am told the issues I am having are because I am overweight [this is a ridiculous thing to say to someone when you have yet seen them to figure out what the issues actually are] and that I should come in for an ultrasound once the issue stops. I don't know when the problem is going to stop and I can't very well just let it continue without knowing what it is [ongoing for 17+ days now]. A call to a different facility within my network led me to a triage nurse who listened to my symptoms and immediately told me to seek treatment at an emergency room. I do not recommend this Dr., and if I could leave no stars I would. read more

I'm updating my review from 2013. I've been a patient of Dr. Trites for over 11 years. To say that I have love in my heart for her is an understatement. She is the crème de la crème of doctors. I wish she could be my primary and BFF! Today, I had to see her for a little procedure. Now, get this. She is a mother and she delivers babies all the time. My procedure was a nothingburger compared to childbirth. But me, being the wimp I am, beginning yelling like a little wuss - "Stop Dafna! Stop...ouch, ouch, ouch!" Then, it was over. I was so embarrassed and apologized. Dr. Trites, being the sweetheart that she is, took extra measures to comfort me. She's so genuine and kind. Dr. Trites makes me wonder why some women make such a fuss about going for their annual pap smear. Okay, so perhaps a stranger sticking cold metal clamps and her hands up your crotch can be weird but Dr. Trites makes it less uncomfortable by making a real effort to get to know her patients and relax them before getting started. The first time I came in she met with me to get my history and talk for a few minutes before having me change into the paper towel "skirt" and awkward paper jacket that throw modesty right out the office window. At least that window is covered by black blinds, so while the doctor and her assistants will get a better view of your bits and pieces than most at least no random looky-loo will. The assistants are all helpful and when getting my blood drawn proved difficult because my veins are all tiny and a nuisance to find (guess becoming a junky is out...) I appreciated the lab tech's concern for my potential pain even if she nonetheless scrambled the insides of my inner elbow trying to find the red stuff. Four stars because I didn't actually get called in to my recent appointment for 9 am until 9:30 and you have to pay to park in their lot even with validation. read more

Dr Trites is a wonderful doctor. She's very informative. Her facility is clean and well maintained. The reason I'm only giving 3 stars is more on her office staff. Although they are friendly, they don't manage appointments/follow ups very well. Recently I've had to get my records transferred due to recent findings that require specialists service. It took them 2 weeks, numerous calls from myself, and the nursing coordinator for them to even just fax over my transfer of records. It's really inconvenient as a patient who is 8 months pregnant and needs special supervision; who can give birth at any moment to not have an OB. All because a transfer of records was not made regardless of making the necessary steps for them to be transferred. read more

Dr Trites is an amazing Doctor! I went to Dr Trites with my 3rd pregnancy after a traumatic birth. Doctor Trites immediately eased me just by walking into the room. She takes her time with you. I never felt rushed or like my 100 questions were an inconvenience. She reassured me and has such a great disposition. I received great care and delivered a beautiful healthy baby with no complications. She never pushed inductions and would have done anything to avoid a c section. Dr. Dafna Trites is an 'EXCELLENT DOCTOR' who has been my OB/GYN for more than eight (8+) years. Being a post menopausal woman who has relocated frequently, I've been fortunate to have been treated and cared for by some of the best OB/GYNs in both Canada and in the US over the years. Dr. Trites is a great obgyn. She really seems to care about you and listen to all of your concerns. I would have given her 5 stars but I waited for 50 minutes before I go to see her!!! I would have walked out after the 20 minute mark but she is so busy that it is hard to get an appointment. I just wish that the staff would call you to tell you she would be that late. Next time I will definitely call ahead of time to make sure. I would refer her to my friends and family though. read more
