Is it overstating to say that this woman saved my life? Maybe ... but I feel like she did. She diagnosed my condition THOROUGHLY (it is rare), got me better in days ... and back to full health in a couple weeks ... and continues to help empower me to live and thrive as my body changes. She is also WAY more personable than a typical "in and out in 15 minutes" doctor in today's modern medical system. I have great doctors at Cedars - and she eclipses them ALL ... literally BY MILES AND MILES AND MILES. No comparison!! NONE. I am a 60+ yo woman with excellent health and insurance - but I suddenly had a "downstairs" issue - and no Cedars or UCLA Gyn's were available for two months!!! In "desperation" - I came to Yelp and found Dr. Perlow. I had really not heard of the concept of "concierge" medicine ... but had to see someone immediately. I signed up for her service and as promised by her office staff - she got me in "the next day". The NEXT DAY. Going to see her is FAR more extensive and personal than the "usual" doctor. She gave me a comprehensive "head to toe" exam. Since she is a specialist in many areas beyond OBGYN - she has the experience and knowledge to be able to diagnose and treat special conditions like mine - AND she actually spent time with me to get to know my situation. She has excellent demeanor with her patients, understands a woman's body and hormones and gives each patient the time and respect that they deserve. She was wonderful about having my partner accompany me during a diagnostic procedure in her office as well. For those of you seeing her due to having babies - never fear that this is the only time you can have a doctor this good ... you can see her the rest of your life AND SHE IS SO worth every penny. My partner actually said not to post a review so we can keep her all to ourselves - as she will soon be a new Dr. Perlow patient too! The annual charge for a concierge doctor is pricey - not going to belittle that fact - but I am prioritizing her annual fee into my budget because I feel she is just THAT good and I want to be able to reach my doctor directly (if needed) at a moments notice. You can divide up the annual charge quarterly or semi-annually to make it easier to handle. I feel blessed to have found her - and thanks to her - got treated easily and early for a rare condition that could have developed into cancer. Cost of that? Priceless. And PS - the negative reviews here??? Read them closely ... they all have to do with HOW BUSY she "was" and how difficult it "was" to get in to see her BEFORE she became a concierge doctor - SINCE SHE WAS (is) SO popular!!!! We had a very complicated and stressful birth, but Dr. Perlow gave us the best care both physcially and mentally. She not only took the most amazing care of my wife, but she constantly pulled me a side to check on my mental health and helped keep me stay calm. I wanted to give you all the update that unfortunately this office now is concierge service which means many insurance plans are not taken here (including my own). This happened shortly after my son was born so l felt so let down by not having continuity of care and having to find a new gyn. Unfortunately our fractured healthcare non-system in the US makes it so that anytime who change coverage more than likely you hav e to find new doctors. I was referred by my acupuncturist and when I called for an appointment, I was told it was a year wait for Dr. Perlow! I was provided another option to see a nurse practitioner, Adina, so I chose that option. Adina was amazing! She was kind, and very thorough for my annual exam. Unfortunately my new insurance is not accepted so I cannot go back to her for my next visit. I do need a ob as well so I need to find one that is easily available. The staff is not very friendly or responsive as there isn't a dedicated receptionist to help when you need records or even a response. I called and left messages and emailed repeated with no reply or call back for over a month. Adina had given me her contact info and she was able to help move things along. read more

I was excited to have Dr. Rebecca Perlow deliver my upcoming baby but with a $7500 concierge fee, I found an alternative doctor elsewhere. It's just not worth the hefty concierge fee if you have a high risk delivery then maybe but there are so many great doctors out there I cant justify paying $7500 for care. read more

Poor service. I made an appt 1 1/2 years ago (yes, you read that correctly) for April 2020. I called two months in advance today to change my appt date now that I know my travel plans and was informed only now that she's moving to concierge service and there will be a required out of pocket pmt (even though I have the absolute best insurance) and she actually is not seeing GYN appts. I was referred to the office of Dr. Perlow by a great friend of mine as I was looking for one since I moved to the valley. I have never witnessed such carelessness. I came in and paid $80 (snipped blow) and saw the nurse practioner, who was amazing. She said I would get a call back within a few days regarding my culture result. A week passed I called, left a vm. Another few days passed I tried to speak to someone on the phone and was transferred to a vm- I left another vm. I called last week (two weeks later) and spoke with Lana I believe- the one who has a thick French accent, she was very rude and condescending and not apologetic whatsoever and said, I needed to call to get my results and I said that's fine, but I've never, ever had to chase down any results at my OBGYN. She said Dr. Perlow has a lot of patients and that someone will call me by end of day. Either it be herself or another practitioner. Of course, NO CALL... Another two days goes by and I called super upset, as this is a very very sensitive subject for me and for no one to get back to me is insane. I demanded my $80.00 back immediately. Lana said send me a statement I don't see anything in your files and on top of that I got a bill from Perlow medical corporation regarding an outpatient visit for $91.67?? I mean what should one think right now?? IF you were a patient of yours... Would you be okay with this treatment? I asked Lana what the bill was for she said you need to call the number on the form. What kind of customer service is that? She didn't even ask what did it say, who is it from? Just dismissed that it was up to me to call the number on the statement to see why they are charging me since I have PPO insurance. Maybe Dr. Perlow shouldn't see as much patients if she can't be willing to get back to a patient who has been calling to get her results for three weeks. I don't even want my results anymore... I will go to my old OBGYN in west Los Angeles- so worth the drive vs the headache I had at dr. perlow's office. Please also see the statement for the Lab. I also did try to call to see what this fee was.. I was on hold for 35 minutes.. I need to get reimbursed immediately for the $80 and need to know what the statement is about as well. Lastly, I asked Lana what Dr. PErlow's email was she just stated to send this email with the $80 statement to her email only. I said I work at a dental office I know that there is an office email. She said no, just this one we all can see it. Well, I looked online and sure enough there is an email for Dr. Perlow. SO thank you Lana for being a very unhelpful resource at an OBGYN office. I've been to this office 4x. Each appointment, Dr. Perlow has been SIGNIFICANTLY late (30+ minutes), whether I was waiting in the waiting room or half dressed in the patient room. I had my annual appointment scheduled for yesterday at 9am - the first appointment available for the day, so there would be "no reason for delay". Nope! I waited for over 30 minutes while the office tried to reach her. I finally had to run to work and rescheduled for today with Adina, who I was told "is never late. If you have an appointment at 9 she'll be here at 8:40". Well it is now 9:27 and I'm STILL WAITING To be seen. Dr. Perlow is super gentle which I love, but this is INSANE. I truly hope the office reads this and puts something into practice so that patients aren't waiting EVERY single appointment. read more

Dr Perlow is not just any Gynecologist, she is hands down THE WORLDS BEST Gynecologist. I've been pregnant living in England, in Canada, had a baby in Vancouver and been pregnant twice and had my last baby in Los Angeles and none of the other doctors came close to being as amazing as Dr Perlow. She really cares about her patients. She has the most wonderful bedside manner and feels more like a close friend, than a doctor. My husband and children all love her and are greeted with a big smile and hug when they see her. I had a few complications with my last pregnancy and my husband rushed me to the ER where Dr Perlow was calmly waiting for me. This was the second time this had happened, both times very late at night and and both times Dr Perlow had been at the hospital all day with another patient, yet she rushed immediately straight back to the hospital To be with us. We were scared and I was slightly hysterical. However from the moment I saw Dr Perlow and she gave me hug I knew I was in the best hands and that everything was going to be ok. Within minutes she had me laughing whilst I was being wheeled me into theatre where I had my healthy baby boy by emergency cesarean. Which by the way left a very small tidy little scar that i can hardly see. Yes sometimes I've been called to reschedule and sometimes I've had a little wait in her office, but that happens in all Obgyn offices and I know that I am only waiting as Dr Perlow is dealing with another pregnant momma that needs her more than I do at that time. The girls in the office are always friendly and are great with my children if I bring them along. I agree with the other post, you'd be very lucky to have Dr Perlow as your doctor. read more

Well at first, I really liked the Dr as she is very personable. However it went downhill from there. It took a while to get a call back after having some hormonal bloodwork. She then informs me I'm not in menopause which I already told her and she can't help me with HRT. She never said this at our consultation. I am deeply disappointed in how I was treated by this office. I cannot speak about Dr. Perlow, because I never actually had the chance to meet her. I had an appointment planned with this doctor, but she could not see me for about a month. In the meantime a doctor near my house gave me an appointment right away. I was really looking forward to seeing Dr. Perlow since she came highly recommended by my neighbor, but I thought I would try this other doctor anyway since she was so close to my home. I went to my appointment and was not happy with the doctor near my house. The office was dirty and the staff was rude and I left without having my blood work done knowing that I had an upcoming appointment with Dr. Perlow and I didn't need to worry about not having a doctor. I called Dr. Perlow to ask her opinion about what the other dr had said, since I was really questioning some advice she gave me and it was regarding a timely issue. At this point Dr. Perlow's medical assistant told me she would not be seeing me since I had met with another doctor. Apparently they do not allow you to check out other doctors. I was very upset, considering the fact that I had planned on coming to see her and had already had them do some tests for me. I tried to explain to them that I didn't have another doctor but low and behold, they have a strict policy that if you so much as meet with a nurse practitioner in another office YOU WILL BE DROPPED. They were incredibly rude and pompous explaining to me that "Dr. Perlow does not like her patients to meet other doctors. She does not allow that." Never mind that interviewing doctors is a common practice that everyone should do to be sure they find the right fit, I was appalled at how they spoke to me and quick they were to drop me with no regard for my health or my individual situation. In the middle of all this I had a pressing medical question, which turned out to be nothing, but without even discussing it with me they sent me to the emergency room. Good for Dr. Perlow that she picks her patients and not the other way around. I personally find that to be extremely offensive and pretentious. I am also in a profession that is service-oriented and I wish to have nothing to do with people like this. read more

Dr. Perlow delivered our daughter and it was the most incredible experience. She is kind, gentle and sensitive. She takes her time with patients and never makes you feel rushed. After comparing notes with other new parents (with different OBs), I learned that not all birthing experiences are created equal and so much of it depends on your OB's technique and attitude. Thanks to Dr. Perlow, we experienced a happy, safe, easy delivery. Her attitude is always positive and she makes you feel so comfortable. Her technique was amazing, no tearing and no pain. Rebecca Perlow is the most amazing doctor I have ever been to. Kind, caring, and a great listener. I discovered her about 3 1/2 years ago, when I found myself pregnant in a new city with no girly doctor. EEeek, right?! Well, my husband's father works for the pharmacy right next door to the Women's Pavilion at the Tarzana Medical Center, so he asked around for me since he knows so many people over there, and everyone said Rebecca was the best. And they were right! Not only did I feel well cared for and get the attentive doctor I was looking for, but I was never shifted to another doctor in her practice for anything. They have a 24 hour call center that contacts her immediately if you need anything, which was a life saver for me when I went into preterm labor at 21 weeks. She called me back immediately, sent me to the hospital and made sure I was taken care of and the labor was stopped, thank goodness! When it came time for the birth, she was absolutely amazing. We had discussed ahead of time my desire to not have a c-section unless it was absolutely necessary, and she respected my wishes. Even though it took 32 hours of labor to get there, I finally was able to push out my beautiful little girl myself. And I couldn't have done it without Rebecca. Especially considering that my 'little' beauty turned out to be 9lbs 11oz! Any other doctor would have insisted on a c-section. But Rebecca made it happen for me. The postpartum care I received was wonderful. She was there for me to answer any questions I had, encourage me to not give up on me desire to breastfeed my daughter, and make sure I was as comfortable as she could make me. Overall I couldn't imagine having my second child (sometime in the future) with any other doctor! And the service and care I have received in the last few years since? Absolutely wonderful. She is as kind and caring as always. She is intuitive and has a tendency to recognize what you need before you even say it. If you call with an emergency, she will always find a way to fit you in or help you through whatever you need. You couldn't ask for a better doctor. Thanks for everything Rebecca! read more

My wife and I knew instantly we found a gem when we first met with Dr. Perlow while deciding on an OB for our first child. It's hard to formulate exactly why she's so good at what she does but experience, confidence and understanding shapes it all. She's very "to the point" while still being tender. The passion she has for each baby she guides is infectious. Dr. Perlow is extremely patient when it comes to delivery. Many other doctors would have sent my wife (who labored for a long long time) to have a C-section, but this is not her belief. She truly takes the time to usher in each new life she delivers with grace and patience letting them come when they're good and ready. Her bedside manner is caring, and even fun in high-stress times. The hospital staff loves her and respect her immensely, doulas love her, even our placenta encapsulator loves her and throughout the pregnancy when people in all aspects of "baby" found out she was our doctor the astounding response was highly positive. On the night of water breaking, Dr. Perlow was in touch immediately. Never had an issue getting ahold of her. In fact she checks in often pre, during and post delivery. My only negative comment is her appointments usually go long and you have to sit in the waiting room longer than you should. Well worth the wait however. read more

Dr. Perlow has been my Doctor for years now. She came highly recommended by a few friends. When I had my first consultation I felt like she was family! Very nice and caring and took her time to get to know my medical history. I will now be going through my 3rd pregnancy and very excited to have her as my Doctor through this pregnancy for the first time. The only thing I would say that can be better would be the front desk. I know there is new staff. But the person who is training them seems stressed out and not very pleasant.
