I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Kahen. I've been her patient through different stages of my life, from my childbearing years to now, when my visits are focused on annual exams and mammogram orders. She has been exceptional every step of the way. From my very first appointment, she has consistently shown the most incredible bedside manner. She is kind, compassionate, and truly takes the time to listen, answer questions, and make you feel comfortable and cared for. What sets her apart is how genuinely invested she is in her patients. She never makes you feel rushed, and she approaches every visit with patience, empathy, and professionalism. She has a calming presence that immediately puts you at ease. Dr. Kahen is also an incredibly knowledgeable and brilliant physician. I have complete confidence in her expertise and always leave feeling reassured that I'm receiving the very best care. Now that I've had my two children and am no longer in the baby-rearing phase of life, I appreciate her just as much. It's comforting to have a doctor I trust completely for everything from annual checkups to mammogram referrals. If you're looking for an OB-GYN who combines outstanding medical expertise with genuine compassion and kindness, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Kahen. She is everything you could hope for in a physician. read more

Dr. Kahen is truly amazing. From the moment I met her, she made me feel comfortable and cared for. During the last few weeks of my pregnancy, when things can feel so stressful and nerve-wracking, she was incredibly attentive and reassuring. She always took the time to listen, answer my questions, and make me feel confident and supported. My delivery with her was such a beautiful experience. She made everything feel so easy and smooth, and I'm so grateful she was the one who delivered my baby girl. What I loved most is that being around her felt like I had known her forever -- she has such a warm and genuine way about her. She delivered my first baby, which makes the experience even more special to me. If there's another baby in my future, I will absolutely be coming back to her. Thank you for everything, Dr. Kahen. We love you! read more

I'm very disappointed in Dr. Kahen. I had been seeing her for years, and she recommended that I pursue IVF. Now I'm pregnant and she "doesn't take IVF patients" what the heck?!?! Also, I had to call to follow up with them to even get this answer. I don't think if I hadn't called they would have ever called me to tell me that. read more

Horrible experience. It has been days and no one from the office has followed up with me regarding my HCG results, even though I am going through a miscarriage. I had to find out on my own by checking my Quest results because no one called to explain anything, offer guidance, or show any concern. During one of the hardest and most emotional moments, I was completely left hanging. The lack of communication, urgency, and compassion is unacceptable for an OBGYN office. If this is how patients are treated during something as serious as pregnancy loss, I cannot imagine the level of care throughout an actual pregnancy. I will absolutely be switching to a different OBGYN.... read more

I came to yelp to confirm her address and decided that this review is LONG overdue. Dr. Kahen is a gem. if you are lucky enough to be under her care, you know that she's always available to listen and take your worries and fears into consideration. When NO Dr.'s were taking new patients in the onset of covid she let me enroll and delivered my 1st son. I felt safe and heard with her every step of the way. with my second pregnancy she knew i didn't need the same care and she shifted to "2nd time mom" mode, she made my life easy - didn't waste my time and even had tons of suggestions for life with 2 under 2. Both deliveries kicked my butt and she stayed by my side the whole night- she even heard what a nurse said (my husband told her) and called her into my room to apologize and then had me taken off her rotation. Not a lot of Dr.'s care like she does. if you're lucky enough to be her patient and deliver with her, you're in good hands. She was a blessing. read more

I had my first baby with this doctor, and despite being a new mom with anxiety, I was very satisfied with her care. However, my experience with my second pregnancy was completely different. From the beginning, I told her that I have a bacterial condition that requires close attention--even my mother, who was a gynecologist for over 40 years, warned me about it. But instead of taking it seriously, the doctor laughed it off. Throughout my pregnancy, I kept getting infections and complications, yet every time I went to her, she dismissed my concerns with a careless attitude. She never informed me that my placenta was low, which was the cause of my bleeding--I only found out after getting a 3D AI ultrasound elsewhere. Even when I told her something felt abnormal and that I was worried something was wrong, she still didn't check me--just prescribed a cream and sent me home. In the end, I lost my baby, and I strongly believe she neglected both my health and my pregnancy. If you're looking for a doctor who listens to your concerns and takes your pregnancy seriously, I do not recommend this practice. read more

Dr. Kahen was our Doctor for my wife and I's first pregnancy. We found her very rude, lazy, unprofessional, and borderline negligent in her care for us as first time expecting parents. Every appointment we had with her was no longer than 10 minutes and it seemed like she was more in a hurry to get us in and out of her hair instead of addressing questions, concerns, and making sure my wife and our baby were safe during the pregnancy. She even dropped my wife as a patient in her 40th week of pregnancy because my wife couldn't do an induction on the date Kahen pressured us to do with no notice. I had to scramble at the last minute to call our insurance to make sure my wife could get the care she needed and deserved during the 40th week of pregnancy. read more

Dr Kahen has delivered two of my babies and I couldn't be more happier with her. She's professional and super warm at the same time. Everytime I see I feel like I'm going over to see a long time friend of mine with who the conversation flows naturally. Always on top of asking the right questions and offering the support and care I need. My experience with deliveries was stellar as well. She even helped do my son's circumcision and the skin healed pretty nicely the third day. She is really good at what she does and I would 10/10 recommend her. read more

First time visit here today and met with the NP in Kahen Tanaz's office. The office itself had a nearly empty waiting room, it looked funny to see such a small amount of furniture no magazines no side table no artwork. Very low budget, I've personally never seen a waiting room look like that. When I get put into my room, again I'm taken aback by how dirty everything looks. The walls and windows are really really dirty and everything that wasn't disposable looked very used. The NP comes in and she's not wearing anything that remotely reads medical. She's in casual street clothes with rhinestones. In the medical field presentation matters and this made my whole interaction with her uncomfortable for me. How am I suppose to take her seriously when she's talking about my health in that environment? The NP herself did the standard stuff but had the weakest bedside manner I've ever experienced in that role, normally I lovvveeeee my NPs.... But not the case today, I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there! Run don't walk ladies read more

Dr. Kahen is an excellent professional and her work is impeccable. In the last decade she has delivered two of our children and will soon deliver a third child. Her kind words and family friendly business is why we happily continue doing business with her. From our family thank you! read more

Just to let people know. There is a $250 admin fee. They didn't tell me until two days before my most recent appointment. I have had an appointment with them for months in which they keep rescheduling me. I would have not even bothered with Dr. Kahen, if I had know ahead of time. read more

The worst experience I've ever had a doctor's office. READ OTHER REVIEWS ... shameful. Indifferent, blasé receptionist. Cold, unwelcoming office, and worst of all, this doctor overbooks herself so much that I was left waiting 45 minutes before making it to the examination room. The receptionist actually called me while I was driving up from my appointment to try to cancel my appointment ... then said "no problem, come on in..." That was a first. Once you're part the intake, and in the examination room, you may unfortunately be left for over 40 minutes in a gown, naked, cold, and unattended to. I was left there for about 45 minutes before I got dressed and decided I'd had enough of the lack of consideration. It's hard enough getting oneself to a doctor with all the fears and concerns on might have... But to be treated so dismissively. Not OK. When I tried to discuss my concerns with being left waiting for that long, in only a gown, in a cold examination room, and told repeatedly (insincerely as it turned out "just another few minutes..." - she talked over me and became confrontational and abrupt. A doctor - but most especially one who handles maternity and such personal health - should be kind, and at the very least compassionate - even if she herself doesn't mind being told (untruthfully) it'll be "just a moment", while you are left vulnerable for 40 minutes in an exam room- perhaps the doctor at least might have compassion for those who would prefer a warmer and more welcoming experience. As it has been a while but since my last exam - prior to Covid - I also asked if she might have the compassion to call me either way about the results of my exams. Of course, she did not. Distinct feeling personalized attention is definitely not top priority. Dr is more than welcome to reach out, but I have a feeling that is not of interest to her. Will not be returning. Listen. Dr Kahen delivered my first baby. She is a no filter no frills tells it like it is and i needed that kind of doctor. Someone who isn't going to sugar coat stuff and tell you what you want to hear. She answered all of my questions and we always joked around and she got excited with me and it was great. Waited a little in the room here and there but it's a DOCTORS OFFICE what do you expect. It happens everywhere c mon. She's spunky and feisty and knowledgeable and i love it read more

I've been seeing Dr. Kahen for almost 10 years and she is the best! I'm terrified of most doctors but she is so easy going and warm that it's a joy to go to her office. My last few visits I have been in and out within 15 minutes. I highly recommend Dr. Kahen if you are looking for quality care in a minimal frills environment, which is so hard to find in LA where every doctor wants to be a celebrity. read more

I want to leave a really positive review for Dr Tanaz who quite honestly deserves way more than 5 stars! I transferred here from another Dr and it's like night and day. The staff is very friendly and approachable too! read more

If I could get zero stars, I would! Make sure to stay away from this absolutely horrid "doctor" who will bill you for things that are not approved and you are not aware of! She has the worst bedside manner I've ever seen and is ice cold. Very calculating and not caring. She moves approx once a year and their billing department is impossible to reach. If you have to discuss any resolution to what you feel is an incorrect bill, it will take countless calls and refusal to address the incorrect bill. They will tack things on without you knowing it, BEWARE! read more

Dr Kahen is a great doctor but the office staff is awful! So rude and cold. My last two appointments I waited almost an hour for a 10 min or less visit with the doctor. Doctor Kahen knows her stuff well! Caught an issue that was very minor very early and saved me a lot of headache and discomfort and I am forever grateful for that. And she has a kind heart and almost always wears a smile! However I will not be going back to her office because the desk staff made me feel so incredibly unwelcomed and unsupported. I truly hope the doctors read these reviews and start teaching compassion and kindness and customer service to their staff. When someone says they are pregnant the first reply should be "congratulations" "or that's great how are you feeling"-- not "go take two blood tests and we'll contact you if they prove you're actually pregnant". I am new(er) to the LA area and have Health Net Silver insurance. I tend to only be able to see specialists as part of my plan (Regal Group). I have had friends with horror stories....but for me, with a little bit of research, I found Dr. Tanaz Kahen. I needed a new OB-GYN and also PCP (she can do both :)). I also needed two procedures (IUD removal and tubal ligation). I am very thankful and happy that I found Dr. Kahen. It has only been a few months. But she is a kind, caring, and compassionate professional. I just had my surgeries TODAY. It is the first surgery that I have come out of (under GA), and I did not take pain medication AT ALL. I was also able to leave within an hour of the surgery. She also performed the "said" surgeries within 10 minutes of my scheduled surgery time. Just, wow! When she greeted me prior to surgery she welcomed me warmly, reviewed my chart and was ready to go. Also, I am looking at my scars (thus far), they are super small, no bleeding, bruising or swelling, and they are very, very small. I was a little shaky coming out of the anesthesia. But that subsided after lots of hydration and crackers. Also, I am not having the dreaded "shoulder pain" that many TL chatrooms complain about, which I feel is also a testament to Dr. Kahen's work. SIDEBAR: *I did take a short walk and swing my arms and stretch my neck a bit. Also, I am sitting up and not lying down, which I believe is MOST helpful. To me it is not only important that a doctor listens, is kind caring and compassionate but also does good on their promise for an efficient, effective and promising/ successful procedure. I am very thankful I found Dr. Kahen and I am very happy with my surgery results. I highly recommend her for a tubal ligation procedure. And I will continue to see her for my OB-GYN and primary care needs. Another note: I followed ALL of my pre-op instructions and also stuck to a lot of water, mainly fresh fruits and vegetables and some chicken breast, for the 3 days prior to my surgery. I truly believe this helped enhance the efficiency of procedure and the ease of my recovery thus far ;) read more

So happy that I decided to switch from this doctor during my pregnancy. Dr Kahen never calls back and there is no way to reach her when you are calling to her office. She gave me wrong prescription and neither Cvs pharmacy could reach her for a month to change it, neither me. Her office staff are unbelievable unprofessional and rude. They lost and misplace all references and docs. They just don't care. If you need prompt obgyn and happy pregnancy this is not your doctor. read more

It's really tough to "review" a doctor because the experience isn't solely about the medical focus -- it's also about the ease of making an appointment, wait times, overall feel of the office, billing/payment issues, obtaining test results, etc... Dr. Kahen is a very good doctor. When you have time with her -- she seems thoughtful, caring and present. The challenges I have experienced with this office are more about how unhelpful the medical staff is which is extremely frustrating when you are waiting on test results or simply trying to obtain more information about your health! I think the staff needs to remember that they work in a health care profession. This is not simply an office job. Compassion is a must! read more

Great person but terrible office. Run like a business not a medical practice. Over the years quality of patient care has gone down. My yearly check up doesn't include half of the things it used to include, feels like they are skimping in materials and time. Overbooked and double/triple booked constantly, which leaves the doctor with 3 minutes to see each patient. Impossible to get my prescription straight. Everyone is nice but they are too overwhelmed to help so it is impossible to get questions answered. read more

Dr. Kahen does care about her patients, however they need better time management organization. Expect sitting in the waiting room for up to 30 minutes. Then expect to wait in the doctor's inspection/office for an additional 20 minutes. I went back a second time for some testing....I waited a week after hearing nothing. The receptionist on the phone seemed to have a hard time finding my file. Then said that there were no results on my records, and to try back in a week. I thought this was odd as I always thought the doctor's office was to call the patient. I waited almost 2 more weeks, because I just gave up with this office. I finally got a receptionist that said there were no records of my calling and that the lab results came back good. But they didn't call based on the fact, "a call is a bad call........" Mind you, the results did come back negative, but the nurse practitioner was the one that called out my need for lab work as I was clearly having issues. She even said that.....but lab work said no. It really makes me question if they even did lab work! Finally I get my bill. They messed up on the insurance. I decided they were just too much of a headache to bother with and just paid the extra $50 to finally stop dealing with them....Low and behold, I got another bill in the mail showing I never paid. With further inspection, they finally noticed the insurance "oops" and thankfully they never deposited the check. So now I wait for an email to confirm their billing staff made an issue, since calling never seems to work out for me. I would suggest another place...... read more
