    Sangria

Overall decent place. We came because the reviews on google are high. Yes the portions are hearty. The food tasted fresh and cooked well. Service was ok. They appear to be pretty busy and staff seemed overwhelmed. The Sangria was "watery" tons of ice. The wine was fine, I'm being picky by saying I prefer a glass with a stem ( for me it keeps the wine cool). The lamb was cooked well, however not so flavorful... said it was cooked with garlic...I just didn't taste it. The chicken and rice had a nice mild taste. The nuts on the rice is what made the dish. Lastly, I write this as we wait for our bill to be taken. I had to walk over to get the young lady's attention for the bill and now we have been waiting for a good fifteen minutes for her to return. Forgot to mention I had to ask for plates so I can take the leftovers. In addition she never brought over a bag... had to get one from the counter. When we got up to leave, she never bothered to thank us or say goodbye. Wanted to add one last point that my husband made... there was a woman that appeared to be the owner just came across a bit standoffish. Just the overall vibe of the restaurant wasn't in inviting.

Ordered takeout from here. Service was really great - Everything was ready when I picked it up. The woman at the cash register was dealing with a difficult customer, and I watched her handle it with absolute grace and kindness. There is a small parking lot in the front. Cute bar and tables to sit at inside. I ordered a zaatar bread and chicken shawarma salad. The zaatar was the biggest I have ever seen in my life!!! I could not stop eating it.. Saving the salad for later tonight. Very large portions for the price. I will probably be back here this week.

I made the same mistake here as I did another time I went to a Mediterranean restaurant, which was ordering appetizers. Their portions are HUGE. I started to get full off appetizers before my main entree, of which I only managed to clear about 5%, came. Glad my friend and I came right before the dinner rush and managed to get seated without a wait. We split a serving of dolmas (grape leaves) and a mini pie sampler appetizer, and then we each ordered a main plate. I thought it was kind of odd when the woman at the table behind my friend was eating straight chicken off what looked like a serving plate. Then it made sense when ours came. Each plate was enough for at least 3-4 meals. Food was yummy, though felt sliiightly understaffed simply given how busy they were. Wish they would have warned us beforehand about the serving sizes but I can't complain about having more left over, though tbf if we'd known, we would have probably gotten our appetizers and just split one main dish.

First of all, wow. This family run Lebanese restaurant just blew it out of the park. I admit I was a little sceptical at the money for value-ness of it when I saw that a plate of lamb shawarma costs $22 - a far cry from the $12 that I saw on google but it delivered in a plate twice as big as my plate. I eat a lot and could make 2 meals of out it but can see it serving as 3 meals for a person with a more normal appetite. The bread that the served was fluffy and the almonds on the rice was a really nice touch that added to the complexity of the textures. The best part is that they didn't skimp on the meat. Did I mention how great the fries are? Would definitely come here just for the fries. Tommy only complaint- it was a little dry and they didn't give enough sauce for that whopping plate. Well done though:)

Met friends here for lunch, the place was very busy and the servers were swamped but even though we had to wait for the table & for service, they were gracious and friendly. Sat outside because it was a nice day, view of the car park and street. Food was good and portions were enormous, we shared a hummus, dip selection and a meat pie selection. Great value. Go inside to find a great selection of bottled beers.

My friend brought me here for the first time. I am sort of new to the area and there are a lot of places I still need to try. I am from Southeast Michigan and we have a lot of Lebanese restaurants where I am from. So I am kinda picky when it comes to Mediterranean/Lebanese food. This is the first place that I found here that has amazing garlic sauce. We got a beef platter and a fattoush salad. It was soooooooo good!! The fattoush salad is one of the best I ever had. The pita bread was good too. The desserts looked amazing but we did not get one. We had take out. I can't wait to eat there I am sure it's even better. I can't wait to go back.

Early Sunday dinner consisted of pita bread with olive oil & sesame seed for dipping, fava bean appetizer, chicken kebab with grilled onions and my favorite rice. And namura for dessert. Rice was cooked with vermicelli & slivered almonds and was absolutely amazing. Babaghanoush was delicious when we were here almost three years ago. Tabbouleh was made with parsley and tomato. Fattoush salad, which they make pita chips for, was fresh. Kafta kebab is a mix of lamb & beef and was very good last time we were here.

3-course meal for 4 people. Tons of food for all, even the vegetarian. And bags of take-home leftovers

The four of us got the 3-course meal for four people. (One of us was a vegetarian.) It was a great price, and we got the best of everything! tons of food and plenty to take home and enjoy the next day. The food was amazing and delicious, the craft beers and imports are a surprising delight. The servers were extremely accommodating, charming, prompt, attentive. Extremely popular! We were dining on a Thursday night and came early. When we left, the place was full. Young people & families. Great energy!

Flavor wise, it was smokey and the pomegranate added a nice pop of acidity and freshness. The olive oil drizzled on top was also very good. The pita was fresh and warm and had pieces that were a little more charred which was great. Cauliflower sandwich- it is more of a wrap vs traditional sandwich. I liked how thin the wrap was. The cauliflower was very seasoned and cumin-y. I wish there was more pickled cabbage. The fries were thicker but it wasn't dry inside. They were also doused in zaatar seasoning and fantastic. Would get just the fries as a side or the whole thing again! Lahm bi-ajeen man'oushe- like a very flat, crispy pita with meat and tomato and pickles on top. It was good, nothing super outstanding on this one. Shakshuka- tomatoy, lamby, and jammy eggs. Cant go wrong with this. I thought it was maybe a touch salty but it went well with the pita to scoop Ngl service was a little strange in my opinion. One person arrived before the rest of us and they kept asking her to order first. They would come at random times with questions or random pauses when talking. Nothing super warm or welcoming or notable service wise

We had the prix fixe menu and enjoyed all of our items. It's right around the corner from Laser Wolf which is my very favorite restaurant. I wish we hadn't passed Laser Wolf on the way, because I couldn't help thinking all through dinner that the food was very good, but not quite as good as Laser Wolf's. I will say that Suraya wins for dessert. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had kanafeh which is one of my very favorite desserts. The kanafeh was one of the best I've had.

Greeted via a wonderful gentleman Fred , who is also the owner of Mediterranean Grill. He seated us immediately. He took our order we decided to go with a chicken Shawarma wrap And lamb Shawar. Both had a beautiful presentation. We ordered a side dish of grape leaves and a hummus dip. The dip was amazing, smooth and creamy and flavorful, and the grape leaves had just the right touch of flavor, rolled to perfection. The chicken Shawarma was lightly seasoned with a garlic cream sauce. The lamb Shawarma was equally just as good and flavorful. The dessert was a Osmayli - creamy and delicious, not too heavy . The prices are reasonable. I'm providing this honest review as a constructive feedback for improvement…read more We came across this place online but were only able to try it recently...I was honestly disappointed by many things: First, when a place advertises shawarma meat and posts videos of the famous Lebanese shawarma revolving cone that grills the marinated meat as the cone turns, you would expect that the shawarma plate you order is an authentic shawarma meat cut off the shawarma cone...unfortunately, this was not the case at cafe baladi. I respect the owner who's advertising authentic homemade Lebanese food but the shawarma meat we got was not an authentic shawarma meat...this was meat that was cooked either in a pan or in the oven and was not tender because it was not probably marinated and it's not grilled on the shawarma cone. Placed that have the famous shawarma cone you can usually see in the restaurant either behind the counter or through a window in the back - this was not the case. Second the plate included the choice of hummus or baba ghannouj and tabbouleh...we picked baba ghannouj and we got the tabbouleh...again, the baba ghannouj did not taste at all authentic nor homemade...it tasted like the baba ghannouj in a conserved can that you find in grocery stores. Authentic baba ghannouj is made from grilled eggplant tahini lemon juice and salt. Third, the Lebanese tabboule is made from finely chopped vegetables (parsley, tomatoes, onions, lemon juice, and burgul). Unfortunately again this tabbouleh was not finely chopped and it lacked the burgul. We were really disappointed. The only positive thing was that the service was quick.
