Daddypops is awesome. REAL MAPLE SYRUP! When you walk up, if people are outfront, they are usually in line, so don't try to breeze ahead, as many people did when we were there! When you are at the front of the line, jump in any available spaces. Most people sit down at tables that haven't been cleared off yet which I found odd but I wasn't missing my chance to get a seat because its hard to find one here! The waitresses are a bit hard haha they don't mess around. just figure out what you want and eat it because its damn good food. The place itself is eclectic. My wife and I ate a late breakfast, early lunch here. The diner is small but comfortable. It has all of the neat funky quirks that I like in diners including two old-fashioned barber chairs at the counter, one at each corner. When I asked our waitress about it, she said that the owner has a few different chairs and he changes them from time to time. She said that kids love to sit in them. My wife had a mushroom omelet which she said was good. Her only complaint was that the mushrooms were not sauteed before putting them into the omelet. I had a hot roast beef sandwich with Daddypop fries. The roast beef was good and the Daddypop fries were thick steak fries. read more

We went here for breakfast and lucked out. There were two seats at the counter so we sat there instead of waiting infinitely for a table. If you're lucky you can try and get the corners seats in the barber chairs but we weren't THAT lucky this time. We'll try again next time! The family of four behind us got seated at a booth as we were leaving. So happy we didn't have to wait so long. The place smelled great and I was hungry! This place is so retro and tiny, it's an original dining car with no additions or anything. They have a pretty limited menu but we could see right into the teeny kitchen so it was no secret why. There wasn't enough room to offer more than a few things and I like that. That means food is fresh and made to order. I had the pancakes, which were awesome. They were seasoned with cinnamon, all spice and nutmet (I asked the waitress). She said that's the way they are and the cooks won't make plain ones for anyone. I thought they were great. Really different and perfect for a cozy, winter breakfast. Very holiday-ish (we went before Christmas). T had a standard egg breakfast with hash browns which was very good. There were onions in the hashbrowns which I don't care for but I'm sure next time we go I can ask them to leave them out. I really loved this place. Stopped here on our way out to middle Pennsylvania. They made some of the best pancakes I have ever had!! They were so fluffy and soft and melted with a burst of flavor in my mouth. My husband got eggs which were made perfectly and the rye bread that came with it was delicious. The place looks like a typical dinner, but the food is better than any other I have had. The coffee is okay, but they serve it with a smile so it kept us happy. They place has some quirky old antiques in case your interested in looking at that. read more

Best spot for breakfast you can find in PA. Been going there since they opened and a "regular" early (6:00 am) on Saturday mornings along with a cast of other "regulars". The service is exceptional, especially at that hour, your coffee cup stays full and everything on the menu is good. Portions are incredible, so you need to come hungry. The good news is that after breakfast there, you won't need to eat until dinner. Bitch about the "cash only" aspect if you want, but there is an ATM in the vestibule (haters will whine about the "fee") and smart people always carry cash. This place is legendary. The only place I ever go out to eat breakfast. Every time I go, I get lucky and there is no wait. Service is always quick and friendly. The scrapple is SO GOOD. You Must try it. I always get one to-go for my grandfather. I don't like scrapple anywhere else but here. The flap Jacks are amazing, I guess they use cinnamon and some other spices but I can never finish 3. The price is good too. I dont understand why they have packaged syrup though, maybe for cleanliness purposes? Overall, it is Way better than any of these 24 hour diners. If you're looking for an uppity experience with wait staff that yes sir/ma'am you to death then Daddypops is not for you. They don't take reservations and seating is first come first served. Doesn't matter if you're a party of 2 and the next booth that opens up could fit 8, that's where you're sitting. The waitresses are the no nonsense type when there's a line out the door, their mission is to get you in, get you fed, and then get you out! Daddypops is a well oiled machine and I LOVE IT. During less hectic times you can really get to know the ladies who are all sweet as pie. The food is amazing and the portions are huge! If you leave Daddypops feeling hungry you're doing it wrong. I always get the Daddypops special which comes with two eggs any style, homefries, toast, juice and a coffee for about $5! That's right folks, all that food for FIVE bucks! My fiancé gets the turkey club which is made with real turkey meat, not deli slices, and crisp made to order bacon. We have yet to visit during the week but we hear their open fave turkey with homemade gravy is to die for. Daddypops is our favorite. We're there every Sunday morning as long as we're in town. This was such a cool spot for breakfast. It is really small on the inside and gets pretty packed. Some of the stools at the bar our barber shop chairs which is pretty cool. I had heard good things about Daddypops so when in the neighborhood today, my daughter and I stopped by. There was a wait to get into this tiny place, but the other guests waiting were so positive, we couldn't leave. In retrospect I wish we had. Even once a table opened, it took unusually long to have it cleaned off. Then we were seated and though we got drinks quickly, the wait to take our order was again too long. It didn't seem to be a lack staff. No idea what the problem was. The people waiting could have eaten much more quicker with a little bit more organization. On to the food...blech. French onion soup was ok. After it was placed on the corner of the table instead of in front of me, I noticed that the cheese was melted but not browned/broiled. It was tasty though and hot. The sausage gravy was ok but not amazing, not enough too cover the biscuits. The home fries were barely cooked. The scrapple was normal. I remember when this place was great. Now, not so great. The food is cold. The grits are cold and has so much butter sitting on top of them, you cant eat it. This was the first time ordering during the lockdown and when i walk in to pick my order, I was kind of disgusted. Cooks not wearing masks or gloves. Great food! My wife and I had heard a lot about Daddypops since we moved into the area over the summer. My wife never wanted to try another diner because they've all been pretty crappy. This place is definitely not crappy! Very small, cash only place where you can bring your own mug and keep it hung up on a wall if you come back a lot. Food is excellent! Pancakes are their signature dish and they are fantastic! Big, dense, fluffy pancakes that fill you up! Throw in some potatoes with onions and cheddar cheese and you'll need a nap afterwards!
