So this is a hotel and a resturant. I ate during dinner and the food seemed asian inspired. Good food, Excellent decor, black and red with dim lighting. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I had the pan seared mahi-mahi, very good. The person i was with had classic maine lobster bisque soup, which he absolutly loved. The food is moderatly pricy, but is what you expect for the atmoshere, and the portions are smaller. The desert we shared was some sort of chocolate fruit thing and was very good, small but very tasty. All around I like the place and would go back. read more

Daddy O reminds me of a restaurant / bar you would dine in if your flight was canceled and the only place to eat in the middle of nowhere was the restaurant in the "fancy" hotel where you were given a voucher. The decor is a little over the top: too dark, leather, blingy. From the outside Daddy O looks like a Southern transplant, but the inside just doesn't fit with the LBI vibe. This is definitely the fancy hotel in LBI, but it is too fancy. With that said, I was not crazy about the food. It was good, but for the price it is not that good. This food is beyond over priced and the portions are on the smaller size. The roof bar only serves appetizers. I say save some money and go get your appetizer and (delicious) cocktail on upstairs, especially if the weather is nice. read more

HOTEL: 4 stars for the hotel! My room was super small (208), but I was staying there by myself, so it was no big deal. I loved their bath products (Sprout) and during the summer season, they have complimentary breakfast. One complaint - the sheets were rough. I think they were just washed one too many times and started to form those mini-cotton balls. I was so tired that I didn't care to complain. They are just a block from the beach (you can get a beach badge from the front desk) and have a sun deck upstairs, if you want a tan, but hate the sand. BAR: I met a couple of people for drinks downstairs. Bartender was friendly and pleasant. We hung out by hotel/bar entrance, which was a small area, but doable for a group of 15-20. Unfortnately, we didn't get to try any of their food. read more

We came last weekend and had a drink during happy hour. We sat on the back patio. Drink specials were good and the bartenders were really nice. We didn't look at the food menu but other people sitting by us ordered food and it looked good. Would definitely come back. read more

I wanted to add a review since there seemed like there were some mixed reviews. While I would agree that this place is quite pricey, the entrees were good, and the service was attentive. We had lobster corn fritters, lobster bisque, scallops and Filet Medallions. The bisque and fritters were excellent. The Medallions were cooked to the right temperature. A steak knife would have made cutting it easier. The scallops were cooked just right. Not over cooked and rubbery, not undercooked and pink. I'd say some off the off season reviews might not be completely reflective of what you might get in peak. I'd have given it 5 but the price was high and it could have been a little better for the price. read more

Went to Daddy-O after dinner. The bartenders and staff were phenomenal. Top 5 espresso martini I ever had. Great place. Great food. Great staff. GreAt atmosphere. Highly recommend read more

Sleek hotel and restaurant. Great roof top bar. Intimate courtyard eating area and bar. Large formal dining room. Good service. Comfortable trendy place. However the food is only average, the drink size small and the prices quite high. The best part is the roof bar. Decent views. Comfy seating. No elevator access though and no rest room either, but still a nice place to drink and converse. Lots of free parking. Friendly and attentive staff. Probably the nicest hotel rooms on LBI. Was formerly Widas. read more

This is a great joint on LBI in the old Wida's Hotel. Great decor, food was good service good as well. Kinda like Palm Springs meets LBI. read more

Had a really great experience here on 8/10. Kate was our server on the rooftop and made us feel so comfortable!

Well it's been a while since our last Daddy O visit and I gotta say it was probably one of the worst presentations of sushi we've ever experienced. We loved Daddy O and the outside rooftop bar but man o man they need to get the sushi right if that's what they specialize in for the outside dining, the sushi pizza was horrific! read more

I'm giving this 5 stars for the bar, we didn't eat at the restaurant, though it looked awesome. I will say that the prices for the restaurant are the same as many places on the island, but Daddy O is leagues above in ambiance. It's one of the only places where the atmosphere and design aesthetic reflect how much their charging. The dining room is designed as nicely as any fine dining restaurant in Philadelphia. The bar is also really cool, with icicle chandeliers and a stainless steel bar, and red leather bar seats with nice comfy backs. The bar was pretty dead when we were there, so I can't speak to how attentive the bartenders are when it's busy. The owner or manager did come in and buy everyone a round which was a treat. My cocktail, the Liberace, was fabulous. Delicious but not weak. The Cocktail menu is really cute. This is one of the only places worth getting dressed up for on the island if you feel like a nice night out or date. Young and hip and still has that like-new feel. Can't wait to come back for dinner. read more

Stayed at The Daddy O Hotel last night. Beautiful hotel, ample parking and immaculate rooms. I was a last minute reservation. They treated me warmly after I arrived late in the evening. However, in the morning they called and wouldn't let me checkout late. I felt a bit rushed, but other than that I enjoyed my stay. I did not take eat or drink at the restaurant or bar. read more

The bar could be 3 stars but the restaurant is 2-3 stars at best Nice atmosphere but that is where is stops Nice servers, but very inexperienced and a bit naive. Good food quality at best, but the kitchen must be VERY inexperienced and probably young. They killed the eggplant app - which by the way could have been great Tuna RARE was medium at best Burger MR was well done Fries cold Silverware dirty Water warm with no ice And on and on and on and on Happy Hour drink only but NOT WORTH THE TIME OR THE MONEY read more

Stopped in for happy hour. Had incredible service from Tucker. Drinks were delicious. Food was tasty prices were reasonable. I don't know how this place isn't at least 4 stars. The views from the roof are great, you can see the bay and the ocean. Definitely coming back for more! read more

Daddy O - Rooftop Drinks Happy Hour- $4 beers $6 dollar cocktails. Great deal! - New American Near Me - Brant Beach, New Jersey

No one was at the door to seat us and welcome us to the restaurant. It is a large establishment so it was a little strange as it didn't seem like anyone else was being seated. The wait service was nice but disappeared frequently and didn't seem familiar with the drink or dinner menu. We ordered drinks and they were ok. The appetizer was wonderful: lobster and gnocchi but it was very small and extremely pricey! I had the crab cakes and they were very spicy and too much breading and dry. They covered them in matchstick frowns with dressing. He risotto wasn't cooked all the way as our side. My friend had a seafood Cobb salad which was extremely over dressed. We were disappointed as this was a place we we t last year and the food and overall experience was amazing. This year I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

Stopped in for drinks and dessert after dinner. We ordered creme brulee which was overcooked and covered with soaked berries and sauce. The berries seem to have been soaked in sugar for days causing them to be extremely mushy and sweet. Not sure why you would float a sauce on top of the bruleed sugar, but it was not a good idea. The O Punch was good, but the Old Fashioned had too much syrup in it and was very watered down. On a high note the AC worked very well even when it was over 100 outside. The ambiance was nice. read more

Dined here sunday evening at the inside bar. Had the drink with the coconut and my husband had a margarita. Our drinks were recommended to us by our bartender, Nicole, and were very delicious! Opted from the sushi menu....and started off with the seaweed salad. great presentation and taste! we got a few rolls after and were very impressed with the freshness and authenticity of the sushi. Once we were done we wanted to order dessert. It was past 10 pm and the kitchen was already closed but Nicole told us she would be able to make dessert happen for us anyway! We ordered the bread pudding and it was the perfect end to our night. Excellent service and recommendations from Nicole. We will definitley be back! read more

What a great find and delicious meal. The signature drinks, appetizers and main courses were wonderful. Great service and worth the trip.

Yummm! My family and I just went to this restaurant this past weekend & we were pleasantly surprised!! Usually hotel restaurants are mediocre, but the food here was delicious!!! I had the springer chicken & it was made perfectly from the flavors to the presentation! Everyone's meal (7 of us) was absolutely delicious & we had a great waiter, Nate! Definitely recommend this place to anyone & everyone! Next time, we'll be hitting the rooftop bar!! read more

Great service, friendly staff and manager awareness made the experience pleasant salads are good and customizable do recommend.

Met a friend for lunch. Ordered Mediterranean Flatbread, Daddy O'Frites and Thai Steak Noodle with drinks. Waitress, although polite, extremely inexperienced and overwhelmed. Food took forever to be delivered and everything was cold. No plates or serving utensils were brought, needed to ask for them twice. Flatbread had potential to be good, but cold and overcooked was on the charred side. The Daddy O'Frites, which are supposed to have bacon & blue cheese, were cold and did not have bacon or blue cheese. After sending them back, they return with a TINY, barely able to see, bit of blue cheese still no bacon. Waitress says she'll get another, it never comes. Thai Steak Noodle dish is good. Ordered cappuccinos, 20 mins later cold brown water is delivered to table with no spoons or sugar. Have to wait another 10 mins to find waitress to ask for the brown water cappuccinos to be removed from the tab and to get the check. Waitress acknowledges she didn't know how to make cappuccinos and thinks the machine is broken [then why were they delivered and why not get a manager to help?]. Nice interior and location but food and service are no way worth the price. read more

This was the worst experience I've had at a restaurant. Food was way too overpriced for the quality of the food we received. $20 for a burger and stale fries? $20 for a over salted salad? I ordered a beer and waitress brought a completely different beer that I ordered. Didn't not ID anyone at the table for our beverages and rarely checked on us for drinks or to ask about our food that we had problems with. You'd have a better experience going through a McDonald's drive thru. Hostess was rude and can i mention happy hour is only at the bar not for the whole restaurant. read more

This is a hotel, with multiple bars and restaurants. We tried the the rooftop bar, which was lovely, with great views. Kat was our server. She was charming and attentive. Terrific cocktails. Took my girlfriend here for her birthday in March (NOTE: Off-season!) and had a decent visit. Since it was off-season our waiter only had one table other than ours. He was incredibly up-beat and friendly for what I assume had been a long few months without much action. We tried the duck confit flatbread appetizer...awesome. It was a killer little dish that started the meal off right. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass that had a lot of sweet accents (pineapple chili salsa, sweet rice, etc.) and it was great, especially since the sea bass was cooked perfectly. My girlfriend opted for the tuna, was given the choice of rare or medium rare (so she said 'medium' to indicate that was the choice she was making between the two) and the tuna came out way over-cooked. It had very full flavors and the accents around the tuna didn't add anything as they too were super dull in flavor. The tempora mushrooms were killer though, I do have to say that. The total bill was over $100 (we each had one drink each) which I think was a bit more expensive than what the meal was worth. I generally judge a restaurant based on whether I would go back or not....I would give Daddy O's another shot, but I'd certainly stay away from the tuna! read more

Went out here with a group of 5 for my birthday dinner. We were all SUPER impressed with the food and service. Honorable mentions include the gin crush, Marilyn Monroe, pretzel phillysteak, and the sushi. But seriously nobody had a bad meal. Only downside is the rooftop bar was closed for the season and outside bar was reserved for a rehearsal dinner, otherwise we probably would have stuck around for more drinks after dinner. read more

Yesterday, I checked into Daddy O with my two daughters & service dog, The Queen. Immediately, from the point of checkin I was thrilled we chose to stay here! I found the hotel staff and our room to be FIRST CLASS and could not fault the staff in anyway. The reception desk staff was aways pleasant and only too willing to help! Not only was the hotel staff truly helpful, but they went above and beyond what was necessary. * Check-in desk person was more than willing to advise us on activities to do & we even decided to upgrade our room because of her suggestions! (She was completely correct!) * While at the beach, my daughter had the beginnings of a migraine and we walked back to the hotel. Not only did a member of the restaurant staff notice it in her eyes, but after he asked if she was okay he went and got her an ice cold glass of water with lemon without us even asking! * Last evening, with my daughters became ill while I was out at dinner. I called the hotel to just knock to check on them. Not only did they do so, they also came back to their room with ginger ale, crackers, bread and lemon water. It settled their stomachs and felt better immediately! (On that subject...stay away from The Surf City Hotel Restaurant). * This morning we had a fairly severe thunderstorm that knocked out the television. The staff from the front desk immediately dropped what they were doing and came up and fixed our television service! I would like to thank Daddy O again for our wonderful stay with you & will certainly recommend your hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in LBI! We look forward to staying with you again soon! Thanking You, Patricia Burns Rose Samantha & 'The Queen' our dog. read more

Not the best place to go unless you are there to appreciate the ambience of the rooftop bar.

The restaurant is beautiful and the prices are too high. My family went there on Saturday July 12, 2019. We each ordered something different and not one of us enjoyed our meal. The Tai Steak salad was awful. The steak was like rubber and no flavor. The ramen was bland and not prepared properly. The seared tuna was over cooked and poor quality tuna. My 6 year old grandson had the kids personal pizza and it was the size of an English muffin, frozen kind and hard as a rock. That was $9.00 and inedible. The fish bowl drinks were all sugar and extremely expensive The entire meal cost over $400.00 and we left miserable and brought the food home for our dog. read more

Daddy-O is true staple of LBI. This truly is as good as it gets. Offering a diverse American menu of steaks, seafood, burgers, and now sushi (own sushi chefs and bar) you can't go wrong here. I've been going to this place for 15 years and will continue to make this a regular stop. Rooftop has been open for a few years now and is perfect to have a pre-dinner cocktail and/or appetizer. Dim-lit bar and expansive dining room lends well for any occasion. A+ and keep it up! read more

Our first experience was average at best- an experience where we were accompanied by senior citizens. The subsequent experience, with 5 other young adults, a mere two days later, was, in simplest terms, a SHIT show. When we arrive at Daddios, we were greeted by a fairly empty looking restaurant. As we ask for a table, please note we did not have a reservation, they tell us very rudely that there is a 2 hour wait. A bit taken a back as we hear such news while simultaneously staring at several available tables. So, I suggest to the three women working the front desk that we do two tables of 3. They claim that it would still be a 2 hour wait, if not more! However, we "understand" and decide to do take out. After ordering take out, we stand right by the front desk, patiently waiting. That is until, a family of 4 walks in without a reservation and a table is immediately cleared for them and they are quickly seated. A bit distraught after watching such bullshit unfold, my friends and I decide that maybe they really couldn't fit 6 people in this restaurant. However, two more parties come in without a reservation and are seated right away. In fact, the bistro area is re opened for these parties and tables are made for them. In our anger my friends and I pondered what could possibly be the difference between our party and the others. The one overwhelming, frustrating, ridiculous, and clear discrepancy between our parties is age. Sad, but true. Let me clarify- we aren't 7, 12 or even 18 years old. We are 20! That is adulthood, by the LAW. Yet, these three women at the front desk felt that it was not only morally acceptable, but LEGAL to discriminate against us on the basis of age. What a trivial thing. If you would like to contribute to a discriminatory business, please feel free to dine at Daddios and witness this type of unjust behavior first hand. As I've left this experience, I feel a variety of ways- upset, anger, mistreated, embarrassed and sad to see that our country has fallen to such dramatic lows. But most of all I feel genuine and real concern that other people like you will have to endure this type of painful experience. With much sorrow, I sign out here. - The six MATURE 20 year old women read more

What a disappointment! We had gone here last year and had a wonderful time. We were the 2nd table in a restaurant with a staff of 15. Whom besides our server Courtney were more interested in hanging out in the service area than helping her. My filet mignon ordered medium rare was well done, tough and gray. Others meals were cold. Apps were good as were the drinks. When I sent my dinner back, which was their most expensive item. The replacement never arrived. After the table was done eating and the dessert was being taken I told them to cancel it at that point it showed up! The worst point of the evening was the half hearted apology from a man who claimed he was the manager named Peter. He invited us to have a round of drinks at the rooftop bar on him to make up for the upset. Since I never ate dinner. We made are there ordered a round of drinks and were told Peter left for the evening and didn't authorize such a transaction. Bottom line Daddy O's is a No!! Try Stefano's instead! read more

A super cool location on the roof. My issue was that it took an extended period of time for our drink order to be taken and delivered. So we snacked on the bread and waited waited waited. Mediocrity at its finest. Honestly wasn't expecting much as we were a group of five, simply seeking a few Friday-night cocktails. The tiki-style rooftop terrace drew us in and the delightfully gimmicky 'fishbowl' cocktails was just kitschy enough to capture our attention. Our group downed several different drink styles at about 40 bucks a pop. None any more memorable than the other--with the exception of the unimaginatively named, "Shark Bite," which proved to be downright terrible. For the length of time that were there, the service was moderately amenable. It wasn't until we asked our server to evenly split the bill five ways that her attitude took a turn. She claimed that they could only split the check two ways. This logic didn't make sense, and her resistance to our confusion proved it didn't appear she was being honest. After she yelled across to her colleague "we have a problem..." and stormed off, it wasn't two minutes later that she returned with the check split five ways. While I understand that splitting checks slows down the service process because it requires several more swipes of a credit card, false claims that 'systems' can only split a certain number of ways or that they simply "cannot," is unacceptable poor customer service. read more
