Their bid was very competitive with others bids , but with more extras included. Dale Myrik, owner of Alpine Exteriers, and crew, were a pleasure to deal with. They were always on time, worked through rain and heat, kept the worksite immaculate, and greeted us each morning with a polite hello. Their workmanship is of the highest quality. The siding and new facia fits as it should, with no gaps or cracks to be found anywhere. At the end of each day the crew cleaned up ,even using a small blower to clean our stairs. We have been in the same house for 24 years , having worked with a fair amount of contractors during that time . But Dale's crew is hands down the best we have ever dealt with, on any project. The sales representative, Gary Lee, came out to my house and brought many samples of the windows choices and hardware accessories. So convenient! Gary was very nice and knowledgeable. He explained the technology of the windows and the various options that were available. He was not a high-pressured salesman at all, which I appreciated. Gary patiently explained the lifetime warranty. So after obtaining estimates from 3 different window companies, I ended up selecting Gary with CECS. A couple weeks later, my windows were installed. They're beautiful and I love them! Fast forward 14 years later, I called Gary back because I was having an issue with a couple of windows that weren't latching. Gary very graciously came out personally after all these years and took care of the problem. He had to remove the windows to make adjustments, which resolved the problem on both windows. Gary also used a dry silicone spray, which enabled all my windows to glide so smoothly when opened and closed. He also made a couple other adjustments and my windows feel like they're brand new again. I'm so grateful to Gary for coming out and repairing/resolving the issue with my windows. He never made me feel like he was being inconvenienced - he acted as though it was a pleasure to help me! One wouldn't even give me a quote without knowing how much I could spend. Cali siding and windows was completely different. Ivan came out to look at our siding. He listened when we explained what we wanted to repair, respectfully made recommendations, walked around the entire house to make sure all repair spots were noted. Their quote was reasonable and included siding and paint. Ivan answered all my questions regarding roof tiles and what would happen if the damage extended beyond the siding. They scheduled the work to start the very next day and Alex and David were on time and friendly. David introduced himself and Alex, and they answered multiple questions I had while they worked. The work itself was top quality. They were careful when removing the old siding to not disturb other parts of the house. They installed the new siding and sealed every joint and nail head before painting. The paint matches perfectly. And they did it all in two days! After they were done they took special care to clean up, picking up every scrap of debris. I've never had contractors clean up after themselves so well. I hired this company to remove and replace a front porch deck at my home in South Lake Tahoe…read more The good points: They were responsive when I called and provided an estimate that was reasonably priced. Started the job as per our agreement. Showed up everyday as planned. Used good materials. The payment schedule was reasonable and provided me with a more secure feeling because the payments did not get ahead of the completed work. They did not give me a bad time when I told them that the steps and pavers were incorrectly installed. The not so good: Very difficult to communicate with the workers because English is their second language. Rather than having a concrete truck deliver concrete with the correct water to cement mix they mixed all the foundation concrete in a five gallon bucket with initially way too much water. One footing alone required more than thirty 50 lb bags of concrete. I had to force them to mix it correctly, because a wet mix is much weaker than a correct dry mix. They had to redo the steps because they installed them incorrectly as well as the pavers. Only doing so after I discovered the problem. They should have realized the problem without my input. I am a retired contractor and felt that I had to do way too much supervision or else the end result was not going to be good. The project ended up OK but not without a whole lot of my time, input, supervision and a lot of stress. These guys are just starting out and I understand that a new company will have to work out the bugs. If I had to do it again I would have gladly paid more money for a more competent and established company.
