Da Sprinkler Guy Went above and beyond for me on the 4th of July. We had been on water hours for a week as we had a leak that our plumber didn't have time to fix and recommended a landscape person. I guess he thought that it was leaking from one of the controllers but since I didn't have a shut off valve we needed to have one put in. As it turns out the leak was coming from a PVC elbow 4 feet deep on the main line coming into the house. Being a holiday and knowing we had been on water hours 30 min a day to flush toilets, bathe, wash dishes for the past week. He took it on to repair. I requested to have my sprinkler system fixed to make it more efficient, Stratton of Da Sprinkler Guy came by, assessed my system and concluded that all we needed was to replace the old sprinkler heads with newer models that covered more area and there was no need to increase the water pressure. Had an emergency yard sprinkler issue. Hadn't used our sprinkler system in over a year, when I did turn it on, it wouldn't stop after cycling through settings. Couldn't get it to turn off, unplugged control box, still running. Had to use water shut off valve to house. Now we have no water. Next morning, called four different sprinkler company's, only Da Sprinkler Guy LLC, responded. It was his day off, but Statton Noa, owner, came over in about 30 minutes. He quickly diagnosed two antisiphon valves not working, leaking. Replaced two valves, but system still not working, had to replace all four valves. System now works, water restored to house. Timeline & comments: 1026 11AUG posted the project on Yelp 1031 Received a Yelp response from Stratton requesting information on the project 1037 Start exchanging texts and pictures with Stratton on details of the project. Need three antisiphon sprinkler control valves replaced. Control valves located in a potentially not-repair friendly area. ~1600 Receive quote for ~$400 to do the work in an hour. A little more than I was expecting; $160 for labor and a service charge and $258 for parts. I may have been able to do the work myself, but I'm guessing that it would've taken me around 3 hours, with multiple trips back and forth to the hardware store. From a parts perspective, probably would've also cost me $240 minimum. So overall, having Stratton do the work saves me time and frustration. So I accept the quote. 1030-1130 17AUG Stratton scheduled to show up and do the work. 0800 17AUG Stratton calls me and wants to show up early to do the work. I agree. 0830 Stratton arrives and begins work. 0937 Stratton finished work and we tested the sprinkler system. All zones work and no control valves leak. Called a few companies for estimates, they were able to beat the price on the others. It was easy to set up an appointment for the estimate, and the estimate was pretty much on point. I did some of the labor myself to reduce cost, and they were able to work with me to tell me exactly what was going to be needed. After the initial install, a few of the sprinkler heads were not able to reach their target. Called Stratton, set up an appointment, and he came and did the fix. I decided to call based on the good reviews here and I'm very glad I did. I know very little about sprinklers and didn't pay attention until my grass started dying in most of the yard and was growing out of control in 1 spot. Maybe a leak? I was able to set up an initial appointment in a few days, and Stratton found several problems with our sprinklers (broken heads, leaking valves, valves not installed high enough). He had to dig thru a lot of grass and roots to find the valves since I had no idea where they were. Second appt 1 1/2 weeks later, he showed up on time and completed all repairs. Price was reasonable and he even made sure to adjust the sprinklers so that they were aimed at the plants and no longer watering our lanai. I first asked for estimates from a couple of landscape companies who also fixed sprinklers. They came out and acted like prima donnas. They provided me with an estimate that was kind of bare bones of what I was looking for. Then I called Da Sprinkler Guy. Stratton came out and I told him the same thing that I wanted as I told the other guys -- I just wanted my sprinkler system to work the way it did when it was put in 20 years ago. He checked all the valves and sprinkler heads and provided an estimate the same day. His price for an overall fix of the system, including changing out 19 sprinkler heads, was lower than one of the landscape companies I contacted, who wanted to only fix some of the sprinkler heads. I agreed with Stratton's estimate and he came out two days later to do the work. I can't say enough about the work that was done.
