I started using Da Pool Guy Service in May as my other pool guy went out of business and my pool was in bad shape. Dee, the owner, came in and cleaned it up the same day I called him. He then came back in a couple of days to check on my pool and add more chemicals. He identified a problem I was having which resulted in my pool impeller being clogged which kept my pool filter from working properly. I was so pleased with his service and clean up of my pool that I hired him for weekly pool cleaning. My pool is now sparkling clean and it has never looked better. Dee is the ultimate pool guy. Da Pool Guy did not service my pool. This review is about the pool equipment serviced on my pool. My pool had the old pump that made lots of noise and power hungry. Dee (the owner) helped me retrofit with variable speed pump and also put in brand new pool control system. Dee responded to my call quickly and provided recommendation. I have multiple quotes. Compared to online equipment pricing, Dee's quote is the most reasonable one. Installation was quick and precise: new pump, piping, control panel installation, wiring, programming in half day. I don't know about their pool service. But if you have equipment need, I highly recommend Dee. read more

I had Dee come out a few times and one of them was to clean the filter and pool as I was having a small gathering the following day. He came over the same day I called and did the work. Filter and pool was clean and ready to go. Dee knows his stuff. As a new pool owner he even walked me through how to use the pool pump system on his own time. Great guy and great service. read more

Update - 8/1/2020 I stand by my original review. But reducing from 5 stars to 2. This is why... After troubleshooting a couple days with YouTube and everything I could think of, the loss of suction I was experiencing in my system led me to believe a blockage in my skimmer to pump line. But I had tried everything including talking to the guys at Leslies Pool Supplies. So I called him again. After I explained, he said he was very busy and weeks out but he could stop with charge of $150 that he'd credit towards any repair. Ok, normally something like this is under a $100 to stop by and credit to repair. But I was desperate (my pool was green), he was busy, I had a great experience before, and I figured the $150 was worth it since it was almost like a 911 situation on a Friday evening. He got there and took about 5-10 minutes to diagnose the problem. He confirmed my suspicion as I told him I used one of those balloons you attach to a hose and stick down a pipe which expand when the water is turned on. I stuck it down the skimmer end and got water going through to the pump filter but the pressure was light. It was even in when he arrived. So he goes and gets something similar but more like a bag that was more flexible. It looked like something he made for this application. It fit on the pump end where mine from Home Depot didn't. After the hose was turned on, he went back to the skimmer end and started fishing and removing debris with his hand. Turns out there was a big clump of leaves and twigs which was obstructing most of the pressure. He also gave me some more tips on getting an in-line filter for my Kreepy Krawley and also installing a skimmer weir. Sweet! That was worth the $150. This is where it gets disappointing: Here I thought I had found my "Pool Guy". But when I told him I was going to get my checkbook and asked who I should make the $150 to he said, "Actually it'll be $200". What?! I reiterated what he said on the phone and he confirmed that he did indeed say he would credit $150 for coming out to any repair. But he also gave me some other tips and answered a few other questions. Whoa! $50 for 3 suggestions and asking a few simple questions? I was so disgusted and really disheartened that I didn't even bother trying to argue or negotiate. It was like I was dealing with his evil twin or something. Get this guy outta my face! Long story short: he wasn't my Pool Guy, nor will I ever use him again because of this used car salesman/Glengarry Glen Ross/nickel and dime-like mentality. I respect his knowledge, experience and even craftsmanship. But not this preyful, greedy experience. Be advised! read more

I hired Dee the pool guy to clean my swampy pool. What would have taken me months took less than a week to clean up with him. Now my pool is Crystal clear. Dee is a very knowegable pool person and other quotes costed almost double of his service. Friendly and very responsive with helpful hints on what to do if there's any problems or questions I have. I cannot say enough good things about Dee. Very prompt and clear communication, prompt arrival, professional behavior, very knowledgeable. He seem to know what he is talking about and his work was perfect. I got a new pool pump installed and it is working perfectly. I love the new pump so much that I am going to go back to him to replace with same pump at another location. Wish he was servicing for cleaning in my area. Oh and his prices are very fair. To the guy who just gave him 2 stars, I think you are being unfair. Even reading your review, it seems he told you minimum charge was $150 (which will apply to repairs). It doesn't seem like it was a quote. I am not sure $50 should be a reason for bad review (and in previous review you say he saved you $500). Sometimes one just gets lucky. Early this year I needed new pool pumps and a blower for the spa. Dee, Da Pool Guy had the best price and installed everything quickly. I then had the pool redone and a large paver patio installed. There was a huge pool leak and I called Dee for advice. He had me call American Leak Detection to find the leak location. After removing the spa pavers we found 3 broken pvc lines. I called Dee and he had the unique pvc fittings and expertise to effect the repairs. what a relief. We have had Dee "Da Pool Guy" taking care of our pool and spa for many years now, and are very satisfied with his service. Our last pool guy was very unreliable, and even accused our 14 year old "toothless" greyhound of attacking him, what a laugh! Dee is very professional, always shows up to service our pool/spa when he says he will (even calls me to let me know if he needs to change the date or when he will be on vacation). Da Pool Guy Service was the worst pool service that we have ever hired for our pool. Here is the story. We have this pretty nice sized pool with a old filter not in the best conditions. This" Da Pool Guy" Representative comes and looks at our pool and gives us a price. He says, for $300 he can get our pool clean and working. We are like OK cool. Two weeks come and all the guy does is put a lot of chemicals in the pool. However it is still not ready, it is also quite cloudy. Being the nice (stupid) people we are we pay him the full amount. My boyfriend (Anthony) and I realize that we should have paid him half first then the rest later. Anthony calls him and is like, I was wondering how much longer till the pool is clean and the guy was like about 2 more weeks. we were both like What?? You said that It would take you two weeks not a month. I mean if you were not sure why give a time frame. That's Unprofessional and stupid to do that. My pool party was only 3 days away and I was expecting a swim able pool for my guests. The guy kept saying that he was busy and had a tight schedule. Anthony was like well can you at least come and make it look a little nicer, so he comes and makes the water a little clearer and says that's the best I can do. So we end up having my party and maybe like a week later in a text he quits. I mean wow that's really grown up of you. In the text he basically said that the pool filter required too much work. How funny that he had to tell us that after we paid him. Why couldn't he tell us sooner? Very long story short we feel ripped off and don't recommend anyone to go to that business. If you do, do not pay the full amount up front. Well I guess we learned our lesson. read more

Dee has been servicing our pool, hot tub and solar for several years. In summer the pool is well used (dogs, teenagers, soccer teams, parties, etc.) We also have a sand volleyball court in the back so pool maintenance with all the sand, animals and kids makes it a bit challenging. Dee is professional, knowledgeable, reasonable and honest. Dee always shows up & communicates any potential issues (amazingly he can fix anything!) and if he's not confident with the repair, he has a network of trusted associates to call upon for consultation (this happened once when the pump malfunctioned). Unfortunately (for Dee) the pump malfunction was on the weekend, when I called in a panic (even though it was his birthday) Dee was available to rush over to asses the situation.
