Da Han Mongolian BBQ - Mongollian BBQ Meal - soup and rice included - Taiwanese Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

Me and the Wifey often look for new places to try and we haven't had Mongolian BBQ in a while. We are from Kentucky and we drove up to Cincinnati to visit family and landed here. We were pleasantly surprised! It looked a little small, but this restaurant was very clean and well maintained. We were greeted and taken care of by a helpful staff. We were originally concerned about the the one bowl price, but depending how you set up your dish, you can easily have enough for 2nds. I will say I was confused by the sauces at the end, as some customers self served but a team member ended up taking my bowl and added all the ingredients at the end besides the hot oil. I didn't enjoy the egg drop soup that came with the meal, but that has an acquired taste that others may enjoy. Would recommend! read more

This place has something for everyone and at an affordable price at that. The buffet of additions that you can put in a bowl for one price is a phenomenal idea. My buddy and I went here while visiting the area and we're blown away with how much flavor and how fresh the food tasted. If I lived closer I'd be here every week! read more

Da Han Mongolian BBQ - Bowl - Taiwanese Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

My daughter and I tried out Da Han Mongolian BBQ today for lunch. The service was excellent. My daughter had never had Mongolian BBQ before and the woman who seated us was incredibly helpful in explaining it to her. The bowls were a nice size, so you could put lots of good stuff in them. They had lots of vegetables and meat options. The price for lunch was reasonable based on how much food you get. We will definitely come back another time with the rest of our family. read more

I've eaten here many times, and although the food was okay, the service was sadly lacking. A girl I'd never seen before served us, and I brought 2 guest with me that hadn't been there before, She neglected to tell them to bring their food to the cooks at the grills and he was very embarrassed when he took his directly to the table to eat. Then she neglected to bring the soup and the rice and we had to remind her she had yet to bring the soup and rice. Then while in deep conversation she'd come to interrupt to ask us how we were enjoying the meal. I don't know when they stopped offering shrimp in the selection, but it was missed. Not the best dining experience I've had there with the poor service. read more

I haven't had Mongolian BBQ in quite some time! Probably since BDs was around, anyways, we tried this place today and wow. It was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Their prices were fantastic! Six of us are for $75. That's a win in my book. Staff was super friendly and attentive, I cannot believe I didn't snap a pic of our food but we were busy devouring it. Lots of options for your bowls. Chicken, pork, beef, fruit, veggies, yum! They have several sauce to pick from but they recommend one scoop of each. I opted for a scoop of each and it did not disappoint, This will not be our last time coming here. Give this place a try if you are near Tri county! Yummmm! read more

Used to eat here 15(ish)+ years ago all the time and loved it. They just reopened and it's pretty much the same as it used to be! Same sauces, same frozen "curls" of meat at the end. They cook using bamboo swords so there is no constant CLANG CLANG CLANG like other Mongolian BBQ places which I appreciate! read more

I am so happy I found this place...the issue is it's six hours from St. Louis. This joint reminds me of the great Mongolian BBQ's you would find in California and Oregon. A must try if in Cincinnati. read more

On a trip to Covington and saw this place on the map so I read some reviews and decided to give it a try. If you are expecting BD's Mongolian BBQ you will be disappointed. If you just want some fresh, made to order grilled bbq then you won't regret it. Choices for mix-ins are limited. You have more authentic choices like water chestnuts, bean sprouts, bok choy, bamboo chutes and some others. "American" mix-ins like onions, green pepper, pineapple, carrots, and others are available. Meats: four choices that I can remember (there may have been 5). Beef, Pork, chicken, shrimp. Sauces: no variety. They have someone standing at the end of buffet adding the sauces for you. It's just a mixture of flavors to make it taste, well, like Chinese food . The most customization you have is spicy vs not spicy (of which they just use chili oil) and if you need to omit a certain sauce for allergy or preference they can since they are all separate. Garlic sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, sesame oil, chili oil, sugar water, and one I can't remember at this time. Either way all of the food was super fresh and tasted great! Dinner bowl is $14.95 and a lunch bowl is $9.99. Additional bowls are $5. Each bowl comes with your choice of white/fried rice and soup (hot and sour or egg drop). Bowls are much bigger than BD's so you get a lot more food. I can make a meal for three at BD's and I'm sure I could have made at least a meal for 4 here if I would have tried. Not trying I had plenty to eat and still took a whole serving home. If I was in the area I would come back again. Store is super clean, well decorated, staff was friendly and the food was delicious. read more

Just tried out this new restaurant this weekend. You'd really like this place since you can choose exactly which veggies, meat and sauces you want in your dish. Then you can watch them cook it before they hand you back your meal. What could be fresher than that? Plus, what a deal! Not only do you get your meal, but they also give you a bowl or either fried or plain rice and a choice of two different types of soup. We were lucky that we got to try a few pieces of their crab rangoon for free that day. All that for $10 and if you are a hearty eater, the second bowl is only $4!! Relaxed, casual atmosphere and the waitstaff are all friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back. read more

Walked in it was a little empty but probably due to holiday weekend. Food is you try and pile as much as possible in bowl raw then they cook it for you. I think next time I will ask for more garlic as with all the oils they put to flavor n cook it was a little bland for me. Lunch came with some de rice and soup. Egg drop soup was flavorful and good. Fried rice was well rice. Lots of food for lunch price. Will go back again. read more

We have been wanting to go to Da Han for a while as close friends highly recommended it. We were impressed by the warm greeting and folks who truly want you to know what they have to offer you. The greeter lady helped all four of us find the veggie and meat choices, and explained the sauces to us. It was very much fun going over the huge number of vegetables one could choose for their bowl! At other oriental restaurants I am always left wanting more of this or that, such as pea pods and baby corn - not here! Got them all! The cooking was quick and we were at table in a jiffy! All four of us were happy and filled when we left, vowing to come back soon! My one change next time would be to ask for the cooking to be even quicker, so the vegs were a bit more crunchy. Be back soon! Dr. RS read more

We went and 3 of us rated the experience 4 stars while 2 of our party said they would give it 3 stars. When we arrived on a Friday night, It was fairly empty. The customer service was excellent. The food area was clean. There was a strange smell in the women's restroom, however. I was hoping the rice and the hot and sour soup were 5 stars and as good as other mentioned but they were just average to me. The bowls were tasty, I asked for extra sauce which made the difference. I would return if I had the taste for the bowl again. read more

Fresh veggies, good selections of choices, several different sauces, very nice staff, fast service, and good portions.

We arrived for dinner on a Thursday evening around 5 and the place was empty. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a smile, sat at a table, and since we had never been there before, provided an explanation for the menu. You fill a bowl with whatever veggies and meat you like and then they recommend a ladle of every sauce except possibly the hot oil (unless you like spicy). My daughter's bowl was about half full and the waitress tried hard to get her to put more in it. She doesn't care for spicy, so the nice lady did the ladling for her without the hot oil. Then she proceeded to do mine after adding some more chicken to my bowl. They definitely want you to get your money's worth. The grill was quick and within minutes, we had our food. They also serve your meal with either white or fried rice and choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup was a little cold for my liking, but the flavor was good. There was something different about the fried rice, but it was okay. I'd prefer the white next time. The bowls were really good - the sauce was such a unique flavor that probably keeps patrons coming back. The restaurant is a little dated, but clean and very spacious. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Checked Yelp to see what is around work and BANG! Another great recommendation on Yelp. Had many 5 starts and a lot of reviews. That is obviously a great indication of a good place to eat. I wanted a place for an informal work lunch for the holidays but I'll be back. Clean place. polite staff. Great selection of meats (beef, dark chicken, white meat chicken, pork for lunch) and veggies and noodles to include in your meal. Lunch came with soup. Their hot and sour soup is very good. They have booths and tables for large groups. And what a bargain. Nice lunch prices including soup for $10. read more

There is so much I loved about this restaurant. It is clean and beautiful -- very spacious, with the tables spaced far apart, great decorations on the walls, and a high steampunk-style ceiling. As soon as I came in I was greeted by the server, who immediately seated me and took my drink order. It wasn't a matter of looking over a menu --there isn't any, except a list of the appetizers on a small table stand: You're getting the Mongolian Barbecue. She instructed me on how to load up my bowl from the buffet table -- you're encouraged to fill it very full, and put in all the flavorings. In fact my companion's bowl wasn't full enough and the owner brought it back out to tell him to fill it up more. The meat is in thin lunchmeat-like slivers, most probably to cook faster, and some of the ingredients (like the shrimp) is already pre-cooked, probably for the same reason. You then walk the bowl to the cylindrical flat stovetops, and watch the fun. The cook expertly fries your selections, squirting a lot of water on the ingredients as they cook, as they're being steamed while being fried, and then maneuvers the finished product into the bowl with an entertaining flare. Regarding the taste of the food, well, it was a good expected version of Mongolian BBQ. I wished there was more flavor in the sauces, or that there were some more interesting options (say, some more veggies, or tofu or walnuts). But overall, a healthy plate of food delivered in an interesting way, in a pleasant, clean casual environment, with friendly, attentive people! read more

This by far is maybe my favorite restaurant find since moving to the area. It's rather unassuming on the outside but we passed it going to Costco and since we were hungry one day we decided to give it a try and we try to go every few weeks now! The staff is super friendly and attentive. When we went the person waiting on us also helped us decide what combination of sauces would get us a favor we liked, which was super helpful. People have mentioned BDs my sister and I love HuHot and this is not quite that. If you've been there it's all you can eat, and smaller bowls. We liked it because you could try lots of different combos since the bowls were smaller and you could go up a few times. However- the service is what does it for me here. They are all friendly and the food is all fresh. We always get a bowl with rice and a soup. And get an order of scallion pancakes. They are the best scallion pancakes I can remember having. 10/10 would return and recommend. read more

I had eaten at this restaurant when it was Ta Han Mongolian BBQ. It had closed and I was really excited when I'd heard that it was open under a different name. I was not disappointed. The food was excellent and the choices for my bowl was quite varied. I took their recommendation to use one ladle of each of the different sauces to be used in cooking. It was so good. One of the sauces is quite spicy so use sparingly or skip. I like spicy and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Our server was very nice and attentive. She seemed to know the best time to check if we needed anything. Really appreciated her skill. I will be returning. read more

First of all, the service here is crazy fast all the way from seating you to getting you your bill. The servers are very kind and will make sure you get everything you need. Second and most importantly, the style of this restaurant is so amazing and I would highly recommend. You basically get a bowl and fill it with a huge buffet of stuff that is uncooked before they cook it in front of you on this giant pan. The best part is that they want you to fill that bowl all the way up. One of the servers even told me I should get more meat in the bowl even though I thought I gave myself a generous serving. Overall though, the service is quick, the restaurant is nice, and the food tastes great so please consider going here if you're looking for something to do on a night out. read more

Good and a really fair price! We tried to go one day but unfortunately it was a Tuesday and I think they're closed. We were out with the kids today and decided to check it out. Bowls are $5 for kids and $10 for adults at lunch. We did not notice the appetizer options until after lunch so a bit bummed since I would have tried a scallion pancake. The veggies looked super fresh and not dried out. I also saw them refilling throughout lunch which is great. The kids got broccoli, pineapple, noodles, beef and chicken. I went veggie heavy with bok choy, carrot, peppers, jalapeños, bamboo shoots and baby corn with dark meat chicken and pork. They recommend a ladle of each sauce. I did as suggested but added extra garlic and hot chili oil. I could have done with more hot chili oil but I know for next time. Also I was pouring soy sauce on my bowl and it splashed on me and the floor but the server was very kind about getting me a napkin and wiping the floor (sorry again to make a mess!). Adults also got a soup and we got one hot and sour and one egg drop. I thought they were both super flavorful and great tasting. My husband loved his bowl as well. You also get the option of white or fried rice which we mixed into the bowls. My husband finished his bowl. I took home about half. And we combined the kids leftovers as well. Drinks were water. After they cook it there is a container of teriyaki available you can drizzle on. Overall cost was $30 before tip. Great quality and flavor, we'd definitely stop in again though I'd probably just have the kids split a bowl (they're 2 and 5). But toddlers are always a crap shoot as far as how much they eat. read more

Not much to look at from the outside, but inside it is sparkling clean and well decorated. Food on the bar is all fresh and abundant. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Service is attentive. Wait staff kept urging me to put more in my bowl as I was gathering ingredients. Rice and soup comes with the meal. Will definitely return. read more

Look. I have gone to Mongolian BBQs in three states and two continents. Lets me tell you my pro tip. Press the mean flat! They roll it up so it takes more room up in the bowl so as you pack things on top of it press down and get more meat in there. I mean... eat your veggies, but you need a good ratio. read more

I LOVED Da Han!! Such a fantastic and fun experience! They manage to do buffet style that is perfect and clean. You take whatever you want and put as much as you can fit into a bowl. Then, when you're done you take it to the end of the buffet line and someone will ask what type of sauce you like. They put it all together and off to the grill it goes to get cooked. The cook it Super fast and it's amazing. The bowl is a great size and definitely filling. It's 9.95 for lunch and 14.95 for dinner. An extra bowl is $5. read more

I used to love BD Mongolian restaurant and missed it since they have all closed. I recently discovered of a Mongolian Grill so wanted to try it out. I must say, it is not BD Mongolian Grill. Although it is based on the same type of cooking, I wasn't impressed. They do have a decent selection of vegetables. Their protein options were interesting. First off, the shrimp was pink which indicates it has already been cooked. Then you move to the beef, pork and chicken options and they are all shaved selections. All of these protein options did not impress me. Then after you build your bowl, you move on to the sauces. Not a lot of choices and to be honest, they didn't appear fresh. You don't put the sauces in a cup as is typical but you have to put the sauces over your bowl. This means that the bowl will be cooked in the sauces which was a turn off to me. When they put the ingredients in the bowl on the grill, they cooked it all over the place instead of keeping it isolated to one area on the grill. This means the possibility of it contaminating with other's bowl ingredients and sauces. Once done, the cooked ingredients were overly sauced from cooking in the sauce the whole time along with the shrimp being pre-cooked made then now over cooked. I wasn't impressed with this experience but they did have a very friendly staff and the included hot and sour soup was tasty which is why they got the three stars. You may want to try it for yourself and see if you have a different experience. read more

I absolutely love Da Han. The return from closure has been one of the few highlights of 2020/2021 from a restaraunt perspective for me. They've kept most of the old style setup, and changes a few things up. The saucers are still in large containers and you're still encouraged to absolutely ladle it on. The results have been fantastic and everyone who I have recommended it to have been blow away by it. This is an absolute recommend. read more

I was so excited to see that Da Han (formerly known as Ta Han) was back! Years ago I worked in Springdale & would come here for lunch a few times a month. I've missed it over the years. I tried BD's Mongolian Grill once. My husband got food poisoning from the turkey & I missed the authentic build your own sauce. It just wasn't authentic Mongolian BBQ. So we've been without for all these years. This place is great because you choose your ingredients, decide how much of each item you want & build your custom meal. It's a buffet of fresh raw ingredients & shaved meat that you place in your bowl. My husband's bowl looked nothing like mine! At the end, you add the sauce. One scoop of each is the recommended recipe. I forgot that I used to skip the hot oil, so mine was a bit spicy for me (I am a wimp). Meanwhile my husband was scooping up the chilis from the bottom of the hot oil. Again, you build what you want. Then to the flat wok where they dump your bowl & cook it right in front of you. It's fun to watch them work. You also get a bowl of soup (I chose hot & sour, it was DELICIOUS!), a bowl of rice, steamed or fried. And right now you also get 2 crab rangoon which were delicious! Check this place out! Have fun building your own bowl & customizing your sauce. Next time for me, no hot oil & more garlic. And next time will be very soon. read more
