If there's a choice of no star, I will definitely choose that. This is the most horrible restaurant and dining experience I had in Europe in the summer. We went there because we walked for quite a bit and this place is right around corner and faces the river. But we soon knew that the location was the only thing good there. Perhaps that's why it can treat customers like shit (sad truth). After we sat in, the man who arrange seats and later we knew was their "manager" pretended he didn't see us when we signaled to him we were ready to order. We waited for over 15 minutes to have someone with menu and can order for us. It turned out it's the same man who was arrogant and rude. We ordered the small-plate salad buffet which supposed to be self service during lunch time, and supposed to be buffet when you take whatever you want for only one time. There's nothing in the restaurant suggesting there are any rules or standards other than the plate itself. So we chose the small plate and put the food in. When we were almost finished eating, the manager yelled to us in a shockingly rude way to us, "you should pay the price of middle-sized plate!" I was quite shocked because our food was what a normal small-sized plate can hold (otherwise things would fall off), and you may say it's a little over the small portion a french style restaurant offers, but it's definitely not worth the price of middle-sized plate which was almost double the price of small-sized plate. Obviously this is not a french restaurant. It's an italian one. I tried to calm myself, saying to him "well, you said it's a buffet. as I understand it, a buffet is I take whatever I want as long as it can fit the plate. When you said it's too much, well, how much is too much? you don't have any standard here. well, the food didn't fell out, I put what a small plate can fit. how come you can just charge me for whatever you want?" I didn't finish, and the man again cut me off, this was where it totally pisses me off, he said "anyone who has a brain, knows, you can't take as many food you want..." This is way too outrageous how he could treated customer like this. How dare you?! I sincerely believed the man/manager was a downright racist. He treated customers based on skins. As much as I was so angry and I could feel my hands were shaking when I heard this, and I could just told him to f*ck off and walk out straight, I still held my temper, and told him, "ok, you had a brain, now you tell me, what I order, and what I pay. I'm not going to pay for what I didn't offer. I only pay for what I order. If you have a rule, how much food to put in a small plate, say it before I even put things on my plate. you don't have it in the menu, or tell customers, and you overcharge people after they finish eating, you are deliberately deceiving." He's an asshole and I only wanted to get out of the place as soon as I can. I don't want waste any time with him. The man first brought me a receipt with the overcharged price, and after seeing how I responded, he continued to argue but knowing he's the one who doesn't look good in front of all the customers. he returned with another receipt.
This manager is the most racist and rudest person I've seen in the whole europe. I don't want to say that this experience ruined my whole feelings of Lucern but i think it did. It should be a calm and friendly place but now it's so tourist like and things are outrageously expensive and services are poor. All they want is taking your money and their inner selves are saying, give me your money and go back to your f^cking country. I'm definitely gonna blacklist this restaurant because the way he treats customers. He didn't apologize at all. I think what he needs is "some brain", if he has it at all. read more
