Pesto, spicy salami, penne vodka pasta

We were able to snag a table around sunset by the water and we were so grateful. There was a one dish and one drink minimum per person which I thought was strange and it wasn't mentioned to us until after we all ordered waters. Food was yummy- we got the spicy salami pizza and pesto pasta. My favorite part was the to-go purse they made me!! Server was awesome!

The restaurant is located right along the water. They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating right along the river. The place was very busy the night we were there and the service was a little slow but thats to be expected based on the crowd. We started with the Caprese salad which had fresh mozzarella, basil and plenty of tomatoes. I got the chicken penne and my wife had the spaghetti Bolognese. They were both fantastic.

A little bit difficult to snag a outdoor seat next to the river but well worth it. The pizza was delicious and very affordable. The service was friendly and attentive. And the ambiance is spectacular when you are dining outside on a summer evening next to the river.

5+ star for the view, and service! We went during off peak season in September and there were plenty of outdoor seats for lunch. Our table was right next to the water with a gorgeous view of the bridge. Our waiter was friendly and accommodating! The pizza special was very good, with a nice thin crust. The spaghetti was pretty dry - maybe it was the style of cooking - but we added olive oil and that helped a lot. Overall I'd say it was 4+, but I couldn't justify giving 5 stars since we weren't that fond of the spaghetti.

The food was very tasty. We weren't expecting to get such great Italian food in Switzerland but it was delicious. Ivan was our server and was fabulous! We only speak english and Ivan's english was great which was really helpful. He was very friendly and a great waiter. Will definitely be back if we are in Lucerne again!

We squeezed into this riverfront place for dinner after a day of touring Luzern. The kids liked the magherita pizzas they got as kids meals; they came looking like a bunny with two ears of crust added above the pizza. I had the carpaccio with arugula and romano, plus tagliatelli with pesto. Both were average. Nafisa had risotto with lamb; the lamb pieces were excellent but Nafisa would rather have had more lam b and less risotto.

Is with Geraldo our wonderful host.

Had just about an hour or so in Lucerne and had to find somewhere to eat. This restaurant is right on the water and has outdoor seating as well as 2 floors. We had to wait for dinner to be served as it was only at a certain time. The menu was not extensive but they had a decent amount of Italian fair. The prices were a bit steep compared to what I'm used to back in America , but we were also made well aware that prices in Switzerland were higher. I got the canelloni florentina which was flavorful but over 20 so over $22 usd for a small baked dish of pasta. No salad, no bread. Again I know this is customary for Europe but it's very different from America. The biggest sticker shock was paying almost $3 for a juice glass of tap water. Our waitress was nice and the food tasted good. The place was a little dated in decor but overall not a bad spot if you're in the mood to try something other than local cuisine.

Service is the worst in the entire Europe I think.. Should avoid this horrible shop by all means. You don't deserve this.

We were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside and were quickly shown to a table. Since we had had a long day we weren't starving, and asked if we could split the buffalo and mozzarella cheese appetizer and the tagliatelle with black truffles main pasta dish. No problem. We started with a glass of prosecco and bread with olive oil, salt and pepper and two other dipping sauces. We didn't ask for anything and our every need was anticipated. Our starter came timely and was delicious. Our pasta was split into 2 portions and I couldn't eat all of my portion and gave the rest to my husband. The truffle sauce was perfect and not overbearing. Service was outstanding. Our water refilled frequently. The manager / maitre de greeted us as we left amd asked us how our food was and thanked us for coming in. Honestly, one of the best meals and service I've had in a long time.

We quickly learned that portions are huge, and very little English is spoken at these smaller places. No worries though...after stumbling through ordering a beer (easy to order) and a Chardonnay (a little different) we ordered a large salad and a pizza to share. Service was excellent once we overcame the language barrier, and the large house salad (Gruner salat), and a combo pizza (stagioni) for 10.50 and 23.50 Francs were excellent! The staff are very pleasant and accommodating...we found one waitress who spoke English. This is definitely a popular place for families and locals and can be very busy. First off, there were four of us, two adults two kids and they insisted we must order 4 pizzas. Ofcourse the pizzas are huge and as a result there was a lot of wasted food. Maybe this is a Swiss thing that anyone occupying a seat must spend a minimum amount, but if so, what a sucky way to run a business. Next when it came time to pay, the guys says "you must pay cash". Now I wish he had told us that earlier, not sure what we would have done had we not had cash. This was the first place in all of Switzerland in our 2 week trip here that demanded cash. But there was a reason for this as we'd find out soon. The bill was a little over CHF 100. I handed him CFH 110. He prompted gesticulated "ok? Ok? Finish".. clearly indicating that we wanted to keep the change as a tip which he did! Overall shady service designed to cheat foreigners.
