I ordered the fish tacos very good. You could tell the fish was fresh fresh ingredients. The beans and rice were great.

Tupelo Honey is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is always full of flavor, but my absolute…read morefavorites are the fried green tomatoes and the fried chicken. The fried green tomatoes are crispy, flavorful, and so good, while the fried chicken is juicy, seasoned perfectly, and has that delicious Southern comfort-food taste. Every time I go, I know I'm going to leave satisfied. Definitely a must-try if you love Southern-inspired food!

Tupelo Honey is a fairly decent place located in the downtown area of Omaha. I've been here many…read moretimes because of how good the food is. That's the main thing that brings me back. Ok the other hand, the service is rather iffy & unpredictable. The chicken & waffles is my go-to for each visit, and they have many types of delicious sides to choose from, with my favorites being the biscuits & berries, goat cheese grits, and also the fried green tomatoes. I have zero problems with the food that they serve here, they always do an excellent job at preparing whatever they need to prepare & the portions are always satisfactory. As for the service, there are days where you will receive perfect service while on others the service is not so great. Some days you will be attended to in a timely manner, while there is other days where there isn't anyone available or willing to seat you somewhere. I've also experienced instances where they didn't attend to our table to take orders until I made a complaint. Most of these instances were during days where the place was virtually empty so it's not because of the place being busy. I've also ordered take out from here before, again some instances are perfect and there's other instances where they don't tell you if a certain food is out of stock via text or call so if you ordered something that isn't in stock, you're forced to wait for them to prepare something else once you arrive to pick up your order. They also don't always include syrup or butter in the takeout bags for chicken & waffles. One minor thing I'm also disappointed about is how the portion of grits has lessened over time, going from being served in a bowl to instead being served in a small cup/mug. Overall, I certainly don't return for the service because you never really know if it's going to be a good day or a bad day for that. It's always the food that brings me back. I do want to like this place, and I do to an extent but again the service is always unpredictable. I'd still say the food is worth coming here to see how it goes.

I had some time to spare in between doctor appointments, and I stumbled upon this gem. I found the…read moreperfect seat back in the corner and had a nice view out the window. I enjoyed the feel of the place and loved the live plants. I looked at the menu, that I grabbed on the way through and decided upon a vanilla latte. You go upfront to the counter and order. I was very tempted by one of their pastries, but I just decided to have the latte until I could decide what I wanted to eat for breakfast. Everyone was so nice and even brought a carafe of water to my table, since I was hobbling around with a cane (I'm waiting for my hip surgery). I was so delighted to see a beautifully decorated latte; in a simple white shallow mug, delivered direct to my table. I ended up ordering a light breakfast...one egg over medium, and some sourdough toast, with butter and their lovely jam. Everything was done perfectly, and the jam was divine. I will definitely be back again and next time I want to try some of their delectable baked goods with my latte.

This place taught me a thing or two about vegetables, which delighted all of our senses, and I highly recommend trying a variety of their small plates. This is worth a few minute detour. If you live here, well then, lucky you! Our servers carefully detailed the menu and let us taste a new wine prior to ordering. The dinner service manager is knowledgeable and passionate about the dining experience. When we ordered the radicchio salad, I was skeptical that it would be bitter, but was curious to try it. My husband and I could have fought over it--it was that good! The cauliflower was roasted perfectly, and sat upon a sweet and spice infused puree called mahummara with crunchy pine nuts. The complexity of spices compelled us to try another bite, and then another... Roasted carrots are tender and sweet. Paired with cool yogurt and chili crunch, they ascend into another level of deliciousness. A tear of fresh bread across bits of remaining sauce, and then (not a minute sooner) "we are satiated, thank you!" and the server can take the plate. The restaurant is adjacent to a theater that shows unique offerings and they will sometimes coordinate events with menus. We liked the simple cafe style tables and openness. Ample parking is available in back.
