I recently had knee surgery and cannot climb ladders until my knee recovers. As life sometimes goes (luck/karma/divine intervention...), my home developed a water leak up towards the second story where the chimney and overhang meet. The roof has a 10/12 pitch and the last roofer did not put in the proper flashing to keep the water properly diverted (I knew I should have roofed it myself, lol). The previous storm brought lots of water into the area and the water leak developed into a major leak that entered my home between the sub-flooring and hardwood. The floor damage was sudden and quite extensive. I urgently needed immediate repairs to my roof and siding to stop the leak. I was unsure if I could get a solid professional to come to my aid and I needed someone I could trust and one that wouldn't take advantage of my dilemma. I also needed someone that would complete the type of work I demand-a tall order to say the least. That is where FB friends and Sound Siding enter into the picture. The first recommendation we received did not pan out. To be honest, it was weird. My original focus was on hiring a handyman as they are willing to do small jobs. I do not want to bash the individual but he seemed to typify what my worst fears are about contractors-flaky at best. Next, I remembered a previous acquaintance that owned a siding company that does residential and commercial work. I had a very high opinion of his honesty and work ethic. My only question was his availability and was the job too small. I gave the owner a call and explained my dilemma. He offered to meet me the next day. So far so good. Upon his arrival, we reviewed the situation and he offered to do the job-much to my relief. He had two individuals show up and start that very day. He was able to add another for the next two days and the job was rapidly completed. Their work was/is top-notch and I am in full agreement with what they needed to do to complete the job properly. Some carpentry dry-rot and roofing repairs, in addition to siding, needed to be completed. All done to my satisfaction, in record time and at a reasonable price. I could not have asked for better. His crews were very courteous and professional. They also did an excellent job of cleaning up the debris before they left. I would definitely hire them again.

They saved us money by being competitively priced and without cutting corners. Tony walked my husband and me through all that would need to be done to insure that our house would be safe from any further water damage. The previous owners had a deck installed without flashing and a dryer vent incorrectly installed costing us time and money. I'm telling my friends and family about this company. I have such peace of mind knowing that as we find more things wrong with our house, Tony and his crew will do it right the first time and only charge for what is done. I would like to share my experience I had with Jason at Gillette Construction…read more Our house is under contract with a buyer whose inspector wasn't sure what he was looking at on the sewer scope. All he knew is that there were "a couple of cracks and holes" in the line, but that was it. We needed to have a professional come and perform a second more thorough scope and my real estate agent set us up with Gillette Construction. Let me preface this with some background: our house is in the Historic District. It was built in 1892. And if you've ever had an old house, you know that they are individual works of art ... and pits of despair. I THOROUGHLY appreciated Jason's knowledge of how historic homes sewer lines are ran and how well-versed he is with Tacoma's residential laws regarding sewers and easements. As it turns out, we share a line with our neighbor and that intersection is at least 10 feet below ground. Additionally, the intersection of our residential line to the City's main is literally 25-30 underground. This is some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle level stuff that Jason said he had never seen before in the City and he had been working in the area for over 10 years. Unfortunately, at the aforementioned intersection with the City's main, there is a large crack due to an unknown circumstance. This should be a repair for which the City foots the bill and Jason has really gone out of his way to contact the appropriate personnel as well as send that person the photos and video of the scope on our behalf. I honestly cannot say enough good things about our experience with Jason at Gillette Construction. He spent a whole afternoon meticulously documenting, scoping, photographing, marking the line layout and generally trying to allay my deep fear of this crack derailing our entire real estate transaction. We haven't heard back from the City yet, but if nothing else, we will definitely be hiring Gillette Construction to repair our sewer line for us. Jason is a consummate profession and a credit to the company. Call them! You won't be disappointed!

Bertha Construction did a great job for us. We wanted to fix up our basement bathroom and laundry…read moreroom. In the bathroom we wanted to replace the shower, vanity, and toilet. This involved removing some interior walls to make the shower larger. We also wanted to replace the flooring. In the laundry room we wanted to replace the cabinets, utility sink, and flooring. We also built some soffets and a false wall to hide some exposed pipes and give the room a more finished look. Margarito, the owner, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful during the process and was very easy to work with. They finished the job in a timely manner and did a great job of minimizing the mess and disruption and cleaning up after themselves. The cost was very reasonable and very close to the original perliminary estimate. The workmanship was excellent. I would definitely recommend Bertha Construction for a home remodel project.
