Went here for hair service because I wanted a change. Asked the guy on the phone to put me with someone who wasn't afraid to brainstorm with me and help me figure out what I might want. He put me with Stephanie, who was delightful. She was very forthcoming with opinions without being pushy. She threw out a couple of ideas, and I decided I wanted to try an Ombre (sp?) color. She was very patient with me when I asked her to kind of teach me how to easily style it. I feel like she took very good care of my hair. We had a little problem with how the color came out the first time. It was dark outside when I left, so I couldn't see the color well. I got up the next morning and got out in the sun and OMG COPPER! I called later that day and scheduled a fix with her, along with a couple of changes I wanted to make from what we originally discussed. She was great about it, saw exactly what I meant, and of course the color correction was free of charge, and I only paid for the changes I wanted to make. They seem a little pricey, but I will happily pay extra for someone who will stand behind their work and treat my hair well. I'm not comfortable recommending the place as an establishment, as I've only dealt with Stephanie, but I can definitely recommend her. read more

Would give no stars if possible. The place wasn't open! Went online, booked an appointment, show up, and the business is closed. Nothing on the site says it's closed, phone number would ring once and go to a voicemail left a couple of messages, still nothing and hell even at the door it has the sign set to open but the doors were locked and no one inside. If I knew it was closed I would have never booked, and the worst part of all is the fact that you have to book with a credit card. Waiting to see if I will get charged for a "no show" or if anyone is even monitoring their bookings. Frustrated because of the rain and the fact I wasted my time. read more

I really wish Yelp was around when I used to be a patron of this establishment. Please avoid this place if at all possible. I was somewhat of a regular six years ago - even used them as my stylist for my wedding in 2006. This place is run by owners who are unprofessional and could care less about their clients. For instance, the owner's wife (who is also a beautician), styled my hair for my wedding. I consulted with her *prior* to my styling session as to the exact look I wanted. On my wedding day the stylist proceeded to cut bangs and style my hair in a manner I had never expressly authorized. When I objected she reassured me that "she knew what she was doing." Yep, needless to say, I was so upset by this. My hair looked awful and I never returned. Mind you, I had been a regular client prior to this experience. I even overlooked their repeated indiscretions regarding wait time, overcharging for services, rudeness, etc. Fair warning. read more

Worst massage experience ever. No one greeted me for ten minutes. The entire massage was rubbing lotion on me then squeezing my skin. The massage therapist then cut me short 30 minutes. In order to use the gift certificate I got for my birthday the owner said I had to write three nice reviews about his establishment. The gift card expired within a few days of when I tried to book my appointment. It was initially only good for five months. Most reputable establishments offer a year before expiration. The owner asked why I hadn't come in sooner and I explained to him because I had surgery and was focused on recovery. He then asked why I didn't call to notify him. (Seriously?!) I explained that after having surgery, booking an appointment at the salon was the furthest thing from my mind. I was focused on recovery. That's when he offered me a deal. He said that his establishment had a lot of bad reviews and that if I wrote a nice review on three different sites then I could use my gift certificate. I had to print out the reviews and hand them to him when I showed up for my appointment. Because of their availability, I had to book my appointment on a weekday. I told them I'd be coming from downtown and that it'd be cutting it close. Robert who answered the phone, said no problem and that he'd book my appointment between 5 and 5:30. (Robert is apparently the owners son who is nothing like his parents Sher and Fatima Atiqi who own the salon. He obviously learned manors and customer service from outside his household.) The day of my appointment there was an accident on the freeway so I was running late. I gave the salon a courtesy call to notify them. Sher answered the phone and told me to hurry. I got to the salon about 10 minutes late and was the only customer! There was one walk in the entire time I was there. They closed the salon after the hairdresser finished with me. Initially I was scheduled for full highlights, but because of time, we did partial. Because of this I had $90 left on my gift certificate. I had been told prior that I could use the remaining balance on products. Fatima told me no and that because my hair is so thick and because it took so long that I couldn't use the remainder of my balance. Now I usually get charged extra for having thick long hair, but this was AFTER I had been rung up and charged for having thick long hair. The owners of this salon put me through the ringer to use the gift certificate I got for my birthday and then I had to fight them to use the remaining $90 balance. Worst birthday present ever. I feel sorry for the staff that has to work for such horrible human beings on a regular basis. I will never go there again. read more

Manicure and Pedicure - Westhimer and Bltw 8 location I would say I had the worst experience ever. The manicurist did not speak proper English and made a very little effort to understand what I wanted. She cut my toe to blood. And she had dirt under her own nails. So sad I noticed that by the end of the session. Then I had to stop the staff cleaning and mopping a room right in front of me. Unimpressed with my facial. The products used I felt like I could have bought myself for a much cheaper price. Staff for the most part is friendly and the facility itself is nice. The place has potential but there are a few things that could be worked on. Things seem very disorganized. I was told two different prices. Then I was told the facial I requested was not available after the fact that I already arrived. They had 24 hours to let me know they didn't have what I wanted. It would have been nice to have been told that over the phone instead of arriving and being told you didn't have the facial I wanted. Then I had a c-section and could not get a massage for quite a while due to not being able to get around easily. I scheduled an appt as a gift for my son and daughter in law for a couples message, pedicure, shampoo and style. I went into the spa to set everything up to made sure there were no misunderstandings as to what I wanted to happen. I was very specific that I wanted a couples message both of them in the same room for the message and was assured this would happen. The day of the message my son his wife and my husband were very early so we had drinks at the Kubla Khan's right next door. I gave them 2 stars because they said they enjoyed themselves although they were in separate rooms for the messages. When I called the spa today to ask about it the father of the owner that I spoke to first tried to say it was because they were late, since I was right next door with them I knew that wasn't the case. Then he said they were really busy that day. Who cares I scheduled the appt well in advance made sure they knew what I wanted and was charged for it. I hate being negative. Seriously. Soooo....I scheduled a following-day appointment for a spa manicure, spa pedicure, and hot stone massage. I got there on time (which...if you know me usually doesn't happen b/c I run at least five minutes behind) in the morning. Upon entering, it pretty much just looks like a hair salon--nothing too fancy. The receptionist had me fill out the information and let me know that the person in charge of my mani & pedi was running behind. So there I am, filling out paperwork and listen to her call and ask the beautician if she was on her way, but per the rest of the conversation it sounded like she was informing her that she had an appointment at the spa that day. Apparently these people are on an on-call basis. So my lady finally arrives, apologizes for the delay and she goes on to confirm what I had figured earlier--she was barely informed that she had an appointment to attend to that morning. I was upset because I would assume that this should have been addressed to her the day before after I actually made the appointment. She was really sweet, but chit chatted soooo much that I think the quality of her work was affected by it. Basically, I could have just exfoliated my feet and done my own pedicure. My usual nail people (Westheimer Nails) do a waaaaaayyyyy better job for cheaper--Westheimer nails includes exfoliation, paraffin wax, hot stone massage, and moisturizer with their spa pedicure. I was offered water and while waiting, I looked around and noticed that the place was a little unkept and it wouldn't matter to me as long as the service was great but at this point, it wasn't. Let me move on...so my massage therapist finally arrives as well. Same story. She had found out 30 minutes before showing up that she had an appointment. What was up with this guy that sets up appointments...I was upset that he wasn't responsible enough to make his contracted beauticians aware that they had appointments. The hot stone massage was awesome though and I will contact Ira again, outside of this business for her work. She was excellent and took her time. Will I go back there? I bought a $185 gift certificate for my sister for her birthday. It was suppose to be emailed to her. She recently moved from the Houston area and I checked to see how her spa day went. She never received the gift certificate. I felt so bad since it was her birthday present. I called the spa and spoke with the owner. He said that had a no refund policy and there was nothing he could do. Now, he is the owner, and he could do the right thing, but refused to do so. He could also tell that the gift certificate had never been used. He was completely unwilling to do the right thing and refund the cost of the certificate which she will now never be able to use. This was a gift. It took the receptionist nearly 10 minutes to look for my appointment- until the someone stepped in to help. Then I went on to get a mani/pedi but because I had shellac on (which I had almost completely taken off myself) they wanted to charge me an extra $5 or $10 dollars. I asked whether I would still have to pay the money if I instead upgraded to shellac. The owner said yes, I had to pay the extra money regardless. This is completely odd to me. Most places I've gone to do not charge you money to take off shellac if you are going to put it on anyway (usually because it costs more anyway!) So I decided against shellac because I was annoyed. When I checked out of the reception, I had to confirm the payment. Again, thought this was odd because I'm not sure the person who paid would have wanted me to know exactly how much they spent. Then after I had paid, the owner walked up to the receptionist and asked in front of me whether he had charged the extra $5 or $10 for removal of shellac. Receptionist had not. They proceeded to charge me the extra money. Which annoyed me even more. Its not that I can't afford a few extra dollars, but its the principal. After I had paid and was on my way out, you call me back to charge me a few extra bucks? I did not leave this place relaxed. Overall, its a decent place. Would I return? Probably not. read more

there is nothing elegant about this place. I booked a few services online with my credit card. The first problem I had was the receptionist- who BLEW up my phone afterwards saying she needed my credit card information to secure the reservation. I told her they already had it online, but she said it doesn't matter since the computer only lets her see the last four digits. Then she tried to charge me $50 for a shampoo-and-style, which is ridiculous considering I have shoulder length hair. She finally relented to lower the price to $30, which is whats advertised on their website anyway. I asked my hairstylist to give me slight waves. After maybe 15 minutes of blow drying my hair outwards, she informed me that my hair is too straight to do that style and that she was finished. I pretty much paid $30 for a BLOW DRY. If that wasn't bad enough, halfway into their lame version of a "spa" pedicure, the technician working on me was informed by the manager that she was needed elsewhere. So off she goes, and a coworker sits down to finish the job. She did apologize for the confusion and was nice enough .... but this place is clearly disorganized, and the owner could care less about the satisfaction of his patrons. When I told him that I was not happy with my experience, his response? Don't tip then. And go somewhere else. I wish I had. I really do. I did leave 20% gratuity (my standard is usually 25-40) for each person who worked on me, because its not their fault the place that place is terrible. But I will never be back, and I hope anyone considering wasting their time at this place will read this review and think twice. read more

Don't go here if you want a say in you style or color. I've been here twice the first time was adequate decided to give them a second try. Decide in middle to get some highlights explained that I wanted a natural look with no roots to deal with in the future. The stylist mentioned a color touch up. I told her no I didn't want to deal with roots a second time. Again she voiced understanding when she was rinsing she started to brush something on my hair at the roots when questioned I was told it was toner. Now we go to blow dry she asks what I want curls it straight I say curls she proceeds to blow straight saying I want you to know how to make it straight. As it's drying it's getting blonder when questioned lots of excuses. When I check out I am told I'm begin charged for color highlights cut and blow dry. Horrible really regret my visit. read more

I went to this spa to get individual lashes put on, I told the lady I wanted something dramatic, she obviously did not listen, at the end I ended up with lashed that looked really natural to me, I did not say anything because maybe I would get used to it, you know, something different for a change but when I got home later that night my eyes were hurting, the glue got clump together so the lashes looked bad and some of them started to fall off, I wore them like that for a couple days , maybe it was normal but i couldn't handle the pain from the glue that got stuck to my skin and took them off. I'm not saying that all the services they do here are bad. Just don't get your lashes done here please don't waste your money.oh one last thing, the lady didn't even know she had an appointment when I got there which I think is extremely unprofessional, I'm in a similar business and I check my appointments the day before to be ready for my next day, just saying. read more

I made the mistake of coming here to get my makeup done a few years ago. I didn't have a yelp account but now that I do, I HAD TO WRITE A REVIEW. First of all, I was a senior in high school excited for my prom. I got screwed over by some old woman who didn't even know how to apply falsies! I wasn't allowed to look in the mirror while she was doing my makeup. I asked for a natural look but instead she used BLACK AND STARK WHITE EYESHADOW. Not to mention there was an excess of fallout so it looked like I had a black eye. Then she covered the black with concealer. It was horrendous. On top of the horrible eyeshadow, wrong color foundation, and bright pink blush, she was rude to me. She yelled at me. She lied to the owner over the phone in front of me. I cried on my drive home where I had to wear my normal makeup. I was late for pictures. Everyone else had gone to actual professionals and their makeup was flawless. Avoid this place. If I could only give 0 stars. I went in to get my hair done and I came out looking like I did a horrible bleach job in my own bathroom months ago. There were about five different tones in my hair. It was splotchy and the highlights looked like my hair had grown out and I had gotten my hair done a while back. I never thought someone with as much experience as they claimed the hair stylists have could have done such a horrible job. The worst part was that they made me feel like I was being foolish for thinking my hair was ruined. Everyone that mentioned something about my hair did not believe that I hadn't done it myself. It was THAT bad. They did not apologize for their mistake, they just kept saying it looked good. Well if a salon thinks this was a good job, I beg everyone to stay far away from here. This isn't the first time I have had issues with this salon in particular (they have other services) but I garuntee you this is the last time I step through those doors. I only give this place 4/5 stars because the general ambiance isn't that of a high end spa...but what they lack in "dazzle" they make up for in amazing therapists.Gwen gives, quite literally, the best massage I've ever had...and that's saying a lot. I pay tons of money to visit Trellis (for the ambiance), but the qualityof the massages I've received there aren't even in the same stratosphere as Gwen's magical hands! I purchased a gift certificate for my daughter's birthday, she had a horrible experience. As she had had knee surgery a month ago, she was looking forward to this, but when she got home, she said it was miserable. Very poor customer service, even emphasizing her surgery and back piercings... girl got her nail stuck in incision in knee; girl was pushing on back piercings and asking how you get those and she talked the whole time. As her Mom I was pretty upset, so I called the spa, some man answered and I asked if I could speak to the manager, he said "why" and I asked if he was the manager and he said "have a nice day" and hung up on me! I called back and asked if that is how he treats his customers and he said "you started talking about my business," which I informed him all I had asked was he the manager. I visited this spa with my girlfriend last week for her birthday. Instead of going into the Galleria over memorial day weekend, we decided to try something closer to home. BIG MISTAKE! This place was awful! From the very beginning they couldnt even get correct which one of us was doing what services. It was very unorganized! They asked us who was who at least 15 times, and still after that had our services swapped. The changing area was small and not very clean, and the robe we were given to put on wasnt a spa robe at all, it was a cape meant for hair cutting. Anyway, I had scheduled for a body wrap and facial. I hadn't ever had a body wrap before, and after this experience i dont think i will again. The lady had me lay down on some plastic where she put some mixture all over my body and then draped what felt like trash bags over me. She then put beach towels over the plastic, followed by a house blanket, turned out the lights and left me laying there for about 45 minutes. After that, I rinsed off in a shower and that was it. Most of my facial was decent, except for the fact that while extracting the lady pushed so hard on my nose that I thought it was broken. At the end when it came time to pay they informed me that I was upgraded to a different body wrap then I had scheduled for, and instead of the $65 one I asked for I was given the $105 wrap and never told before hand. When I asked about the special prices they were advertising on their website, they told me the prices werent valid for weekend appointments, but it neglects to say anything about that on the page. My girlfriend had scheduled for a 25 minute massage and aparently they kept her in there for 55 minutes and expected us to pay for the additional time. It was crazy! We paid exactly what they asked for, and needless to say we definitely wont be going back. read more

I was given a spa finder gift card for $50 and chose to redeem it at Delegance Day Spa and Salon as it was near my house. I didn't want to spend more than the $50 and was in need of a pedicure so decided to go with the Spa Pedicure which is $45. I guess for $45 dollars I was expecting a new pair of feet...but seriously I expected it to be relaxing and have a great end result. To start off with, the technician took me to their manicure/pedicure room which consists of three massage chairs and a little waiting area. By the way, the massage chairs was awful as it consisted of a very small vibration. I was the only one there on a late Saturday morning so that should have been the first red flag. There was no relaxing music just dead silence which made me very uncomfortable as I felt I had to either talk to the technician in order to break the awkward silence, or immerse myself into my phone...I chose the phone. To make the long story short, the session was only 30 minutes which included waiting for toe nails to dry (so this story had no choice but to be short). The technician was not really good at scrubbing and pampering my feet although I really hate to talk bad about her as she was really sweet. After leaving the salon I looked at my toes and they were horrible. Some spots were not painted all the way and it appeared that she was missing a coating. I complained to my husband all day about it because I couldn't believe I wasted my gift card on such poor service and of course he didn't understand. But when I showed my friends, of course they were able to see the screw ups. I normally get a basic pedicure for $20 from a nail shop that last as long as three to four weeks without chipping or anything. The process usually takes an hour and is extremely relaxing. I am so glad I didn't spend my hard earn money on this "SPA" pedicure, which must stand for "Simply PAthetic" pedicure, and do not ever have plans to return there.
