Was sent a coupon for my birthday and I went and reserved a table. When I was told it would be two hours I said Im not going to wait and when I went to leave upon walking outside a bouncer grabbed my wrist and wouldnt let go of me telling me I couldn't walk out all the while spitting food on me. I was wary about going to this location since the food and service at the Woodstock location is terrible, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the opposite here. We ordered a very simple lunch meal- BLT with a side salad- and both were so fresh and delicious. The buttered sourdough bread was sooo good! The service was much better as well, although our server didn't stop by very often. She was friendly and got our orders right, which is more important to me. It's A Good Place to Meet Up* Downtown McHenry has really grown over the years, with the addition of some bars, new coffee shops, and little boutiques. I was happy to see that DC Cobb's also got a face lift, and didn't loose there cool and chill vibe. This place is right on the river, with a patio fitted for summer/winter/and fall seating. The patio windows roll up an down for a breeze and soaking in the nice weather, and there are over head heat lamps for when it gets chilly to keep you comfy when you still want to sit outside. I can't eat much here with being a vegan but the impossible burger has always been good and with the "Build Your Own" option I can put a ton on it! There drink specials, and specialty drinks are always tasty and with this place always being busy there service has always been good. This Resturant-Bar is on the corner just before the river bridge, so there's street parking or you have the option to use the huge parking lot directly across the street. They like to have live music-Dj, and with the bar being directly in the middle of the place it can get load. The ladies bathrooms are small, which is always annoying but at least they have one LOL! Each dining experience gets better. Tina was our server and she was very pleasant and courteous and checked to see if the food was good and if we needed anything. I had the Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese and it was perfect it had a little bit of a kick but wasn't fire breathing! I recommend this restaurant highly and return definitely! This pace has a pretty cool atmosphere. On the river and has three different rooms. The service was pretty good as we had a lot of people and they did a good job of helping us out. The food was decent. We got the tachos which actually were not good at all. Steer clear and try a different appetizer. We also got the jalapeño poppers and those were great. Our kids got burgers and they said that they didn't have much flavor to them (our kids are pretty experienced with burgers). My wife and I split the BLT and soup. We got the cream of chicken soup and it was really tasty. It had way more flavor they any other cream of chicken soup I have had in the past. The BLT was really good and I would recommend that as well. I think if in the area we would try this place again. It ended up being extremely expensive which might steer us away in the future. read more

Hit or miss. Some nights there are really great bartenders and ambiance with the music. And other nights I wouldn't go in there. Food selection is vast , and some of the options on the menu like the burgers and the wraps are good. Tacos could be a little better. Good drinks but sometimes not good prices to match. I want to give DC Cobbs 3 1/2 to 4 stars because the waitress that waited on me for my take out order was super nice and attentive. We ordered two bison burgers with fries which were delicious and I also ordered two appetizers mozzarella triangles were just Ok. But what I couldn't believe was the fact that they had Mexican street corn I had to order it. I really wish I hadn't it was the most horrible tasting thing I'd tasted in a long while. I'm all for putting a spin on certain dishes but these corn on the cobs tasted like they were marinated in pure lemon juice and then rolled in mozzarella and tanjin seasoning. Maddie our waitress was amazing. She made sure we always had drinks, and we we all finished at different times. We felt bad because she would bring one drink and then we ordered another. She kept a smile on her face at all times and was just an all around happy person. The food was very good. We've been a few times now and it was the excellent service from Maddie that prompted me to write a review. She was so sweet and truly made sure all her tables were taken care of. She followed up many times to check on drinks and then food even though they were very busy. Every time we have been to DC Cobb the staff has been so very welcoming and personable. They take their time when they are at your table, they know the menu and make recommendations, and they always seem make sure we have everything we need! I've been missing out! I consider myself a burger connoisseur, so I'm feeling a bit robbed that I'm just now finding out about this place. I had the, Dick Tracy, and It was HOT STUFF!! A full pound of perfectly cooked burger smothered in caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, Bacon, and Swiss cheese, all served between two grilled cheese sandwiches. Yes that's right, you heard me! The food was ok. We were greeted then the server walked away and said she will be back. Came back gave my friend some attitude after she tried to order a drink off the menu, I guess the menu is not updated. We asked for waters and the waitress comes back and dumps 4 waters on my friend causing her to have to leave and drive 45 min to go get a new pair of pants. Only an apology no other excuse. We stayed ate our food and paid our bill. Completely awkward eating experience after. The only reason for two stars was the wings were decent. Music goes from 80s pop to 50 cent. Very random. Just for the sheer fact that I enjoyed my Hell or High Watermelon here gives it a positive review from me. I rarely talk specifics on beer but here goes: I never thought this beer had any of the watermelon notes it claimed it had. I even mentioned that to our server and she assured me that if I didn't enjoy it I could switch it out. I was skeptical, because I've had it on draft and in cans and just didn't get that 'watermelon candy' flavor everyone else seemed to get but I got it here! Maybe it was the pretzel sticks, we got to start with. I don't know, but DC Cobb's got me turned around on my opinion of a beer I didn't think too highly of. Main course wise I got the Windy City with fries, it's the burger with basically an Italian beef on top. I asked our server again what kind of protein and she said that the regular patty would be good because the toppings kind of overpower the other ones. I appreciated the honesty and she was right, having another kind of patty wouldn't have really helped, the burger was just ok. My only real gripe would be that the sours/fruited beers are a little lacking. They definitely lean heavily towards IPA, which are fine and all but it would be good not to just have something that blows out my palate all the time. read more

Always a good stop for food! This place is always busy! Expect to wait for seating during busy hours. The food is really good. We love their crazy burgers. They have monthly specials too. Staff are always helpful & friendly! Their burgers give you different protein options. This didn't affect us this time but one time we came in after kitchen closed for drinks and an appetizer. The appetizer would be a little something to nibble while drinking but that isn't an option. I'd like to suggest you have a small app menu after 9. We'd come more often to hang out with friends. I don't know how many times you should try a place before you give up on it but I can honestly say, what ever number it is, it's today for me. I'm writing now strictly about take out, which has never been a good experience. They won't let you place an order over the phone and are unhelpful and rude. The website to place an order is troublesome and could / should be made more user friendly. But what really, really pisses me off the most is that the order is never what the menu says it is. An Asiago Chicken wrap that comes with a number of ingredients became a wrap with lettuce and chicken. I'm tire of complaining about the meals and nothing comes of it anyway. I mean, they are in the business of taking an order of what they have created on their menu. HOW DIFFICULT is it for them to match what THEY created to sell??? That would be all they would need to do. Why is that so impossible for them? It's not as if I asked for anything special. I just ordered what the menu had on it. Every and I mean every time we've orders, we've had the same experience. I don't blame the inexperienced and less than pleasant staff. I blame the owners and managers who's job it is to instill the values of good service to your patrons. I have no doubt DC Cobb's is a good place to get drunk, and at that point, your taste buds are already dead and you no longer remember what you've ordered. But, the time will come when people have had enough of poor service and decide to go elsewhere. I made that call today. You know, I get it that you want us to dine in. Then we'd order drinks and maybe desert and the tips are much more. But you won't get me when you don't care enough about me on my take out order. read more

Food.....Excellent! Dion't sit on the rooftop if you plan on eating. Takes a long time to get served. However, the waitress was very good. Note: If they ask what type of meat on your burger(grass fed or corn fed) be aware the grass fed id upcharged $5.00 for the same burger. They don't tell you this and we couldn't find it on the menu. A lot of sides are additionally charged. Watch out for this. Other than that and reluctance to dine on the rooftop. We'll be back. The burgers are only second to Tracks in Cary. read more

Normally, DC Cobbs is a wonderful and delicious place to eat, however, this last time it was quite the opposite. First off, I understand that this is a burger restaurant and is not very vegetarian friendly, but I have never had an issue before. I ordered a BLT with no bacon and the meal I received was absolutely horrible. In between two soggy slices of bread was one singular piece of lettuce and 2 of the smallest tomato slices I have ever seen. For $14 I would've thought they would have put a bit more lettuce and tomato if I didn't get bacon. The fries were good and so was our waitress. The bingo was fun and the place was busy, but I don't think I will be coming back. read more
