Street Side Dining, Good Food and Drink We let time get away from us one night and needed a place for dinner at 10:00 pm. Not too many places in McHenry that are open late and we remembered DC Cobbs. While they do have street side dining, it was a bit cool that night so we sat inside. As a beer fan, I like the large selection of tap craft brews and no charge samplers help making a selection easy. I chose the Vanilla Bitch Slap, a red ale infused with vanilla for $6.00 a pint. Quite tasty! For my meal, I opted for the Cobb's Totchos from the appetizer list. My wife chose the Classic Cheeseburger topped with sautéed onions. The totchos, easily enough for two people, come out in a basket loaded with lots of tater tots topped with liquid nacho cheese, pico de gallo, gaucamole and sour cream. A variety of proteins can be added so I selected chorizo, which was not oily or too spicy. My wife's burger, probably 1/2 pounder cooked perfectly and juicy with a nice pile of caramelized onions. She selected a Side Salad to accompany her burger and it was cold, crisp, colorful and tasty. Service was excellent. We think you'll like it. read more

Stopped in for an early dinner and ordered off of their new Diablo menu! I had the Diablo salad and it was phenomenal! Mixed greens with chicken tinga, pico, cheese, avocado, sweet corn, onions and cilantro. Comes with their Southwest ranch but I opted for regular ranch! It was so good! My fiancé had the Diablo tacos with tots and said it was great! Our server, Kamryn, was super friendly and on top of things as she always is! I love that Cobbs is always introducing new menu items because we come here a lot and love trying new things! The vibe of the restaurant is also a huge factor for our visits. So many areas to sit in, front patio, bar, main restaurant and water patio. Our favorite is the water patio! They even have a rooftop bar for the night partying! read more

Amazing location, after a nice river walk there's nothing more refreshing than a house margarita and delicious burger! This is a must visit for anyone in town. They have house made beer & margs and much more, super delicious! The servers are on point & kind you will be seated quickly and treated respectfully. Everything was really good. Bacon wrapped Jalapeños were very good. A little pricey but worth it for an occasional treat. Fries crunchy and tasty. Pulled pork a bit messy, pretty impossible to eat without using a knife and fork. I think tho they should get rid of the paper on the metal plates. Cutting into food on them with such messy food is kind of yucky and leads to possibly eating some paper ! Otherwise I would have given 5 stars Service was great, and helpful. I have visited DC Cobbs a few times for lunches and have had a consistently very good experience. The staff provides a good service and food is okay excellent every time. I ordered a Gumballhead to start and do like the drink and beer selection. For my lunch I had the Jailhouse burger with the impossible burger. They do have some good vegetarian options. I haven't ventured out beyond the burgers as the Jailhouse is out of this world the jalapeño bites and Smokey sauce is excellent. Don't let us scare you off to much ... it's hot but not insane. Truffle fries were good but a little greasier than I like this time The covered patio is great despite rain or shine as a side note. The roof closes when it rains which is nice . Absolutely recommend... weekend can be busy though as a heads up. read more

** Update **** We were refunded for the kid's items on the menu which I considere be an incredibly thoughtful gesture on the part of the management. Not every restaurant is willing to above and beyond but doing so, shows their commitment to the customer and to provide great service. Every restaurant will have it's off moments but a restaurant that shows a desire to win a customer back is definitely one I would like to support. Thank you Luba for the gesture. We will definitely be back soon to give this place another try.**** I was there on Sunday 4/23. My son got a pretty dry burger and when we mentioned to our server that he didn't like it and our desire to order a replacement item, I was charged full price for another kid's meal ($10) for this $1 quesadilla that was brought out. No sides or anything else. Felt like a rip-off. No attempt was made at finding out why he didn't like it the dry burger. Also, the portions are quite small for the prices. My beef was good in taste but again a very small portion for $17. Considerably pricier than comparable restaurants. The restaurant was not busy. Our server Jessica was overall super friendly and attentive though. She was the best part of our visit. I would definitely think twice about coming back. read more

What a cute little place to have lunch. It was a rainy cold day when we went and they seated us in the patio area with a heater. Service was pretty quick. For the appetizers, we ordered the Cobb's totchos with chorizo and omg it was so delicious! The tots were nice and crispy. For the entree, I ordered the jailhouse burger as a turkey burger which was also good. What I loved the most was the sweet potato fries with the cinnamon dip it came with!!! Can they serve this everywhere! When eating the sweet potato fries, it was like having a dessert at the same time. Love it! I'm going to have to come back when I'm in the area again to try the other items on the menu. read more

A frequent spot of mine while traveling for work in the area. Food: They have a solid beer selection with some nice choices of craft brews. The food is awesome, their claim to fame is the burgers - they have A LOT of choices. My personal favorite is their buffalo mac and cheese wrap. All the food and drinks choices are good and you'll be satisfied with almost anything you order here. Service: The service here is always good - i have never waited long times for anything or had any issues with my meal. The servers are always friendly, helpful and good looking, what else can you ask for? Atmosphere: This is a cool spot that always has some sports games on the tvs or music videos. Its a good vibe - like any bar it gets pretty crowded on the weekends and its located in a good spot next to a lot of other good places to go. I love the outdoor area they have located next to the river - you can watch the boats come up and down the river and during summer months its wonderful. Pretty sure they have heaters outside for the winter too - i love a good indoor/outdoor setup. Definitely would recommend coming here if you're in the area, its a gem. read more

The host staff and server were very friendly and efficient during the entire meal. The menu is quite varied, I really struggled between one of the items from the burger menu or going with something else and I ended up with the Chicken Bacon Ranch Mac & Cheese, something I definitely had never tried at a restaurant before. I like chicken. I like bacon. I like ranch. And I like mac and cheese, so how could it not be good? Answer: It can't not be good, I loved it. I also added a side of sweet potato fries, really the most underrated food of all time. They were very good though they also contained the only misfire; an odd, watery dipping sauce that was not described on the menu or identified by the waitress. Nice atmosphere, wait staff very nice. Seated st 2:15 got drinks right away . Ordered turkey burger and bison burger. Turkey $2 up charge - Bison $7 up charge .
