Went here for my birthday. It was a wonderful experience, the place is crowded, but nothing crazy. I love their outdoor seating option. Our food was mind blowing wonderful. So much flavor and choices! The fish bowls are fabulous and go down real easy. Our waitress was so friendly and paid attention to all her tables. She stopped by each table to chat for a bit and make you feel welcome. More people showed up and they were able to clear a table to make room for them. Overall there was not one thing I didn't like about them. Food, drinks, seating, atmosphere and staff are all wonderful. read more

The only reason why we tried this food was for the mai tai fish bowl. I clicked fish bowl online and got some nasty blue drink instead. I let the girl know that my drinks were supposed to be orange not blue. I asked if I could have the mai tai one and she said the manager said no. It's sealed... Really? Maybe on your menu to order online you should list the ingredients. Then when I looked in the bag half of my food was missing and someone had to run the rest of it out to my car. We were at DC Cobb today (Easter Sunday) in the mid afternoon for drinks and an appetizer. My husband ordered a Corona no lime, server brought a Corona Light with a lime. This happened a second time as well. A Corona was $6.00, and the restaurant next door is $4..50. I ordered a Mai Tai which took 10 min to get the drink, and the drink was served in a small cocktail glass. I asked the server why it was not servered in a tall glass, she indicated that would be a double. The cost in the small rock glass was $7.00 and a double is $15.00. That is ridiculous. I have ordered this drink in other bars and was NEVER served this drink in a small spirit glass. In addition to that, we were sitting on the outside patio and had to endure listening to another patron, who is very loud and dropping the " F bomb" every other word for over an hour. Another customer got up to talk to the manager.The manager was standing around listening to this for the entire hour and did nothing until the customer approached him. The servers were listening to this and nothing was done.. Extremely disappointed in this experience and we arw happy to take our business elsewhere. read more

My friends & I have frequented this bar since they opened, & usually have a great time. Lately I've been hearing bad things, I went there Saturday & had the worst experience. My boyfriend & I had a $60 tab & tipped well, after we closed out, I still had over half my drink left & was sipping on it. Less than 10 minutes after we paid, we were approached by a bald man that very rudely asked if we would be ordering more drinks or leaving. It was the most uncomfortable & humiliating experience. I was shocked, & I'm sure it showed on my face, but we were still rushed out. I doubt it was because there was a need for tables, since there were others who had been there longer than us, & a plethora of empty tables. It was honestly embarrassing & I don't ever want to go back. As a former server, I try to be understanding when it comes to service, but never have I ever been treated so rudely as I was at Cobbs. read more

We were willing to wait for the great food, however... seating is limited, and maybe we aren't hipsters or young enough to be seated by the wait staff? The last two times we tried to go here for dinner, we ended up going elsewhere due to the wait times, although it was during peak dining hours. Unfortunately, our money will be spent somewhere else. So many awesome burgers to choose from, the Jailhouse is my personal favorite but I have never had a bad one there.

This has to be hands down the best addition to Mchenry. My boyfriend and I stopped in one day to try the burgers and were blown away! To start though we had "dynamite shrimp" and it was so so good. He drank a Stella and I had their "pineapple upside down" which literally tasted like a piece of pineapple upside down cake. We love this place and can't wait for the warmer months so we can sit outside! read more

Terrible. Nothing like the joint in Woodstock. They sell drinks at last call and then walk around and take them out of your hand 5 minutes later and make you leave. The bartender made obnoxious static noises over the PA to piss off the guests and clear the joint out right at 2 am. I get your closed but don't sell drinks right up till two and then take fulls drinks out of peoples hand and rush them out the door. total joke. I'd never return, simply because of the terrible staff. This place sucks compared to Woodstock. Maybe it'd be acceptable for lunch... read more

I've been here numerous times since it opened, either just to have some drinks and watch a game or to grab a bite to eat with family and friends. It's been a great experience every time!! There's a burger on the menu for all tastes. I should know, I've tried almost all of them. My daughter and I both really like the Mac n' Cheese here and can't get enough. My husband I stopped for lunch after having passed it many times. So glad we stopped. The menu had a huge selection at fair prices and the service was amazing. We both had the tacos with a side of macaroni. Portion was large, came quickly, and we were checked on several times by the waitress. We are now fans. Nothing negative whatsoever! read more

I will say, I'm happy that this restaurant has come to McHenry. The food is delicious and it's great that it has a seasonal menu that changes throughout the year. My only problem was the last time I was there, my date and I felt completely ignored when we went to seat ourselves later on in the evening. Decided to check it out after hearing good things. Had a Woodstock burger was very good ordered Medium was more of a well but not horrible. Wife had the Dick Tracy burger was also good. We had a fantastic experience the first time we went to the restaurant in Woodstock. We were so excited when they came to McHenry. We went when they first opened and could not get the myriad of servers to come to our table. We did not go back for a VERY long time. Tonight, we tried it again and gave them the benefit of the doubt. My husband ordered the Thanksgiving Burger which was described as "Homemade half-pound ground turkey burger piled high with homemade mashed potatoes, made-from-scratch stuffing, fresh gravy, and homemade cranberry sauce, served on a bakery-fresh brioche bun with a heaping side of creamy mashed potatoes, stuffing, & gravy." Sounds delish, right? Well when the waitress asked how he wanted his burger cooked, we got nervous. Ummm....turkey should be fully cooked. A turkey burger should include turkey not beef! Then she asked what sides he wanted. Based on the picture and description, we thought he would get mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy. She said that those were on the burger. That is not what it describes nor is it what the picture shows on the website. He had to pay extra for a side of truffle fries. This is NOT what they advertise. Made a reservation early in the day for 6 of us to eat at 7:00. Super helpful gentleman on the phone. Got a call at about 5:45 that they could take us anytime prior to 7:00 because I originally was looking for more like a 6:30 reservation. Got there at 6:30 and the Hostess was very friendly and got us a table immediately. We had Chey as our server and she was fantastic! She was very attentive and forgot nothing. Sodas and beer came fast every time we needed one. Food came quickly and was delicious! We asked for a slider door to be opened up because it was a little warm inside & they quickly handled that request. From start to finish, they treated us & our experience like it was very important to them. We appreciated everything SOOO much! We love to go out with our kids and have a great experience. I love coming here and hanging out. The burgers are fantastic and the spread of beers is always on point. My biggest complaint is that the DJ that karaoke on Sunday is kind of a jerk. My friends and I wanted to sing a couple country songs and the DJ literally rolled his eyes at my friend and told him that he hates country music. We waited for at least 10 minutes before the waitress came by the 1st time (and the place was pretty empty when we got there), took another 10 minutes to bring a round of drinks and then argued with me about whether or not I had asked for water (which I had). Will NOT be back. On a personal pet peeve - why is that restaurant / bars (like this place) that are so proud of their vast drink selections only bring ONE beverage menu to the table?!?!?! The food here is outstanding and I love what they did with the building. The number one thing you need to try when you go is the tator tot nachos. Out of this world good! Other thing to mention is the rooftop area, I was a little disappointed in how small it is. Barely any seating, no bar, and not really any food allowed up there. DO NOT GET THE PASSPORT! They charge you $5 for the privilege of trying all their burgers (20) and getting a stamp. On our second visit, we were told you could only get 1 stamp per visit even though we ordered 5 different burgers. What a scam! This is for a sweatshirt so you can advertise for them. The service wasn't good. We waited 20 minutes just to see the menu. The food is good, but overpriced. If you want a better burger, try Bull Dogs in Wauconda for half the price. Food was pretty good, but the service was a bit lackluster. I waited an hour for my burger and I asked for no guac but the waiter brought back a bun with guac on it. Luckily, he brought back a bun without guac on it in less than five minutes. This was probably the only superb thing about the service at this restaurant. Just recently opened so it has time to improve. We went with some friends Thursday night after dinner for beer and drinks. There were a few tables with diners, a few folks at the bar, and a generally comfortable atmosphere. Nicely decorated space with a mix of low and high tables. Terrific beer selection and bar food similar to Woodstock location. Tried to order hot tea and were told they only have that at lunch time. Returned on Saturday for lunch before a movie with adult kids. Had to wait about 10 minutes for a table in the bar area. When seated I ordered a porter that the waiter thought they didn't have (despite it being on the beer menu and Untappd); he returned with a small glass for me to taste because he didn't think it looked like what he thought the beer should look like (it is brown like Guinness not yellow like Miller Lite). I assured him that is indeed what I wanted and he brought me a full snifter. We tried to order hot tea and he insisted they don't offer hot tea. We informed him that on Thursday both the waitress and the manager told us that they only had tea at lunch; he said they must have lied. We then pointed out the location on the menu where it lists hot tea; he said maybe they are planning to add that later. Nevertheless, the food is good and the atmosphere for a Saturday afternoon was fine. If they would drive to Wal-Mart and buy a box of Lipton's and teach someone in the kitchen how to boil water they would have had an extra $6 in revenue this week, plus tips, but we'll probably be back anyway. All I can say is it's about time McHenry! Finally we have a fun place to hang out that also serves AMAZING food! It's hard to pinpoint my favorite thing about DC cobbs. Everything from the food to the atmosphere to the service is excellent! You walk into this place & it's like nothing you've ever seen (especially around here) the design is so unique and cohesive you can tell they really put a lot of thought and effort into every last detail. Now for the food. I have been here 3 times and each time has been better than the last! The first time me and my husband both got burgers (which is what they are known for) he got the the hurricane with the bison meat and I had the popeye with the turkey burger. both were fantastic! The portions are huge and I love that you have so many options besides just regular old ground beef. I have to say my personal favorite is the Mac n cheese! its RIDICULES! Best I've ever had with so many toppings to choose from. We will definitely be back to try more. Can't wait for the patio to open! read more
