Ok for snacks, drinks only. I'm all for supporting restaurants but my $7.50 bowl chicken rice soup so bland. Waitress would not exchange it. Food so expensive. $17 Burger just ok!. Had to order another tiny tiny mac n cheese at $5-nothing special. Mac is so so tiny!!! Little bowl that is toddler size. My kids needed 2 each. Every little upgrade tacked on. Service terrible! We sat 1/2 hour no menus. Be honest, we personally did not receive menus and guest neither. I had to get up and get it myself, which wasnt a big deal. Sorry soup is terrible and I'm youngerish. We got up on a Sunday for brunch at D.C. Cobbs and it was worth it. I ordered the vanilla French toast which was just okay. I would ask for some butter and syrup to make them a little richer. The vanilla flavors wasn't very strong. The biscuits and gravy was a hit and adding a little Cholula hot sauce gives it that extra spice. My husband is a simple breakfast person and it was good! The bacon was nice and crispy. Their hashbrowns are also good too! Then I tried the build your own mimosa which was super fun and made a passion fruit pineapple mimosa with some fresh fruit. Then moved to a an Irish Nitro. That is a must order. It's a great way to end your brunch. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere here is warm and inviting. If you're stopping through or make the drive, you won't be disappointed! read more

We have some great burger places in McHenry, DC Cobb's is in my top 4...and that is saying something. The food is great and its kept clean. This place can get busy and slow..but that can happen at great restaurants. The staff is friendly and they genuinely seem happy to be there. The main focus though is a great burger, made the may you want with your choices of, bun, beef etc..and fantastic sides. Sweet potato fries are great..not underdone..like some others. Atmosphere and music/music videos were fun too. Might be a little loud for a business meeting..but I've had plenty here with no issues. read more

Best restaurant in McHenry, in my opinion... So happy this little gem is here. From its unique decor (and by unique, I don't JUST mean lack of neon beer signs and NASCAR posters like most McHenry establishments), to its tasty small plates, this eatery has it going on. Their eggrolls are delish. The max & cheese is the best. Salads, desserts.... I could go on. You get the idea. It's great. I like the variety on the menu. Endless burger options. Some pre-sets to choose from or you can create your own. However, I don't need to pay $14+ dollars for a hamburger. I loved the dynamite shrimp, but that's another $15. I understand meat and seafood prices are high during these Covid times, but I can enjoy an $8 burger and I don't need to spend over $50 on a lunch for two. Burgers were good, hence the 3 stars... but still too pricey to justify any of my subjective taste preference for this burger stacks up to others. read more

Not impressed the few times I was here. Sandwiches are good but service seemed slow. Not in my top 5 places to eat in McHenry.

Their food is great but the simple fact that you can't place an order ahead of time is ludicrous! I work down the street so coming in to place an order & wait for my food isn't an option. Because of this massive inconvenience, you get TWO stars. If you've gotten screwed over by people not coming in and you've prepared food, charge them on the phone, ahead of time. Simple as that. This gives the impression that you're looking for people to come in and they'll feel obligated to buy a drink while they're waiting. I called BS! Went for lunch yesterday and the food was awesome and so was our server! Fantastic service our server Blake was amazing!! We had the Reuben, veggie wrap, and southwest chicken club and all were really good and so were the fries! Will definitely be back! We had to wait well over an hour to be seated. We came at night at 7. They told us at first it would be a half hour . They served us an appetizer that was still half frozen. Ordered two items. Caesar salad and mozzarella wedges. Wedges were good but the salad wasn't so good. It's pretty hard to mess up a Caesar salad but somehow they managed to mess it up. On the menu it says housemade croutons. No way were these croutons housemade. The dressing tasted more like ranch and there were tomatoes in the salad, which normally isn't standard. Woman who brought good out was nice. But for 26 bucks I'd appreciate better quality. read more

We had a fantastic experience here! This was our first family experience out during the pandemic for dining. They have tons of outdoor seating and open air seating around the edges of the restaurants. The staff was all friendly and courteous of the conditions (all wearing masks and gloves, distancing, etc.). Our food was great as well. The Monster Baked Potato was awesome!! Nice place, for a but very small and way at too expensive. Very limited Menu. Hope you like Burgers cause that's about all they have!! I normally don't consider costs as long as their somewhat reasonable, but we're talking $14 avg for a burger. Oh you want to upgrade from fries to anything else like tater tots, add $2 or $3. So most burgers with tater tots are $16. Their Burgers aren't worth that much. Save a bunch of money and go a few miles away to Bulldog Ale House. Burgers are every bit as good with way more beers on tap. Save at least 1/3. However, I will say their burgers are excellent. So if you don't care about spending $20 with tip for a burger and no drink, and can get into this place, yes it is a nice place. Plus a great outdoor deck recently done with a nice sunshade. I really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere is pretty nice, good selection of beers and drinks, except wine (which was just sad). The food was okay. I ordered a chicken sandwich with a side salad. The chicken and the gluten free bun were dry and weirdly hard. Our server was nice but sooooo slow. At one point my husband got up to get his own drink from the bar. The place is so busy and I'm happy for them but I think they have a lot of kinks to work out. read more

I tried this place a few weeks ago and though I've been to the Woodstock location, this was my first time trying the McHenry one. The menu is full of delicious options, it was hard for me to choose. I ended up ordering the buffalo chicken wrap. It was delicious and not too messy which was great! Finally, we have a place in McHenry with great food and even a better atmosphere. They have the best whiskey options (half priced one Wednesdays) and the best staff. I enjoy dinner and a drink there. I really would like to give Cobb's a good review as the environment is fun and typically the food is good, the service... not so much. I always find myself waiting an unnecessary amount of time to be served and receive my check. And the last time I went on a Tuesday night for the slider special, the patties were small and dry, pulled pork was good though. Overall my experience typically brings good food but the service will usually ruin my dinner as the table begins to frustrated. read more

A welcome new addition to the river front- this trendy burger restaurant - bar was a perfect spot to grab lunch. We really wanted to sit outside, however the outdoor patio was under construction when we were there- looks like they were adding some patio shelter and also a roof top area! We started with the Shrimp off the appetizer menu which were a perfect combination of crunch & spicy, followed by the grass fed "McHenry" Burger & fries. My burger was good, I do, however, wish that they offered goat cheese and a topping option. My husband ordered the Italian beef rolls and raved about them. We hope to return when the outdoor area is finished and if our experience is as good I will be bumping this to a 4-5 star! read more

Great setting and decor. Not enough tables especially outside. Great bar area. Menu is diverse. The open air concept is cool but too many flies inside actually everywhere. Need a detractor for that. I felt like the whole time I was swatting flies and I was inside. Fresh beef burgers. I went with the grass fed groundhog burger for $15 and avocado egg rolls. The kids burger was good as well. Chicken nuggets are Dino nuggets just be aware. Large steak fries are ok, not my personal favorite. A medium burger is cooked more medium well. No pink whatsoever. It was still good. Service is good. Thursday night and I waited about 5 min so they turn the tables fairly well. This is a much needed addition to the lousy restaurant scene in the area so please mr Mchenry mayor please keep the infusion coming. This is good. I would come here again. read more

We moved to McHenry a year ago and first came to DC Cobbs for my husband's 40th birthday. Then a few weeks later to celebrate our 21 year olds birthday. Everytime we come in, we are welcomed by everyone with cheers, high fives and great smiles. Josh and Dan along with their amazing team: Sam, Bella, Cheyenne, Caitlyn, Andrea, Bri, Matt, Aleah, Gavon, Anthony just to name a few have become some great friends of ours! The menu has a vast selection of burgers with catchy names and fresh ingredients or create your own . You can choice from several different proteins buns, sides and extras.
