We've been coming to D-BAT Austin multiple times, not just once or twice, and unfortunately the experience has been consistently disappointing. The staff doesn't really help when there are issues. The pitching machines also don't work properly. One pitch goes way up, the next one goes straight, and the dashboard where you're supposed to adjust the height doesn't seem to work. This happens almost every time we visit. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because it's an indoor facility, so at least there is a place to practice when the weather is bad. read more

Would not recommend. Went twice in the last week and both times the guy at the front looked and acted like he didn't want to be there. It wasn't at all busy, and the pitching machines were not really functioning properly, which frustrated my son both times we were there. He was even commenting on how it was pitching too high, among other things. The second time we went, I said something to the same older guy at the front and was told that there wasn't a problem with it before (read a review from another person a month ago with the exact same problem, but carry on). And while calibrating did fix the height problem it was still hitting inconsistently out of the strike zone. I am not returning. There are plenty of other facilities in the area that have better customer service and don't gaslight you into believing the pitching machines are perfectly fine when other reviews say otherwise. The people who work there don't need to greet people like we're in a clothing store, but a "hi, welcome" can go a long way. read more

For softball, seems like a great facility. For baseball... yikes. The machine cages throw old, black baseballs. Most are ripped at the seems creating unpredictable trajectory starting at 60mph. I grew up playing select baseball in central Texas and I have never used a machine that threw out black balls... I genuinely feel bad for the kids trying to practice with the machines at this facility. It also seems like the staff there doesn't really care. "We just replaced the baseballs." And "it's the machine making them black" are the responses I got. LOL if it's the machine... then fix/clean your machines! And considering they are black and ripped... I highly doubt they were "just replaced." Maybe the owners are unaware of the issue??? But if you're looking to bring your kid to a machine cage to practice baseball, go somewhere else that can afford to put white/new baseballs in the machine. I'm an adult who just went in to hear the sweet sound of lumber smacking a baseball and left feeling bad for the kids and parents wasting money trying to hit garbage balls. Save your money, go to another facility. read more

We are wanting to focus on the basic mechanics and fundamentals of softball and Cassie did just that. She was able to connect with my daughter and they both had fun. D-Bat runs summer camps and we took advantage of that a couple of times to give the grandsons something to do when they stayed with us during the summer. This summer has been pretty different. The kids are getting older and are very vocal about what they prefer to do and camp is not high on their list. Not just D-Bat camp but camp in general. I've been planning an activity every day for my 10-year-old grandson who was with us this week and booked some private lessons with Aaron at D-Bat that were scheduled yesterday. The boys both play in Baseball Leagues and their parents have utilized this facility frequently so they hold a platinum membership there. One of the big perks is you can go and utilize the batting cages anytime you choose and it has already been covered in your membership. For other activities there are discounts available usually 20 to 30% off regular price depending on your membership. This was a huge savings for us when we booked 4 half hour sessions. It happened that the time available was back to back so grandson had one hour of increasing his skills in batting and also an hour pitching and catching. Both of our youngest grandson's really enjoy baseball as do their parents and grandparents. We rarely miss a game. Anyway I have to say I could not of been more impressed with Aaron and his style of educating, showing and then having the child execute form, stance and swing and stressing the areas where improvement is needed. He is consistent in his instructions and uses a normal level voice in what can be a noisy environment. This really encourages the kids to listen. Aaron is up on the info of some star baseball players that everyone is aware of, and shares with the kids little tidbits of things that they have done to improve their game and become experts at what they do. He stressed that if you do something over and over the same way, you can become an expert at it too. I was a little nervous about having two hours back to back in terms of attention span but grandson did an excellent job paying attention, listened, and responded and had some great success hitting under Aaron's guidance. From what I understand all the instructors have very good skills but we would highly recommend Aaron based on our experiences with him-both recent and in the past. He is a high-quality instructor! The facility itself is very nice. They are set up to do private lessons as well as have areas where a congregate of kids can gather and be instructed in playing games and such, during the camps and other group activities. They hold in the camps in summer and on school holidays. They use really good equipment to protect themselves and to make sure that the kids don't get injured either during batting and/or pitching and/or playing a mock game. The entryway has some very nice baseball related merch for sale and a desk where you check in and pay for the services you have chosen. There are areas around the cages where they have benches and bleachers for any observers. They have a good amount of hours daily so that you can come at your convenience if you just want to practice batting in the batting cages or if you want to schedule a private lesson with one of the instructors. I found their website very helpful also, and I actually booked the activities we chose, through the website and received a confirmation text. If you have a Baseball or Softball player in your life, drop in and check out the facility. We don't think you will be disappointed! read more

Received a D-Bat discount via email when I registered on their Web site. It had a coupon for a percentage off batting cages and lessons. Signed my daughter up for a one hour batting lesson. She swings well but needs pointers on how to improve power. Lesson was at 7PM. We arrived early, paid and went to sit by the batting cage where lesson would be taught. At exactly 7PM the instructor started slowly walking from the front office to our cage across the building. When she got there she still had to get a bucket of balls, unlock the cage, get a batting tee and, after seeing my daughter swing...get a "quick bat" for one-handed training. All this took time. The instructor kept looking at her watch every 3-4 minutes like we were a bother. She also kept texting on her phone instead of watching my daughter swing. When the balls were all hit, my daughter had to pick them up in the cage. This, while the instructor texted on her phone without even bothering to pick up the softballs right at her own feet! If my daughter was lucky, the instructor would kick 1 or 2 her way. Ridiculous! I spent a fortune on that one hour class and all the teacher did was give a few pointers and put the softballs on the tee. She even texted while doing that! With about 20 minutes left in the class, she started talking to another (male) instructor in the cage nearby. She spent more time talking to the guy than to my daughter and when that person started to leave, it was like our instructor couldn't wait for class to be over to follow. In fact, she ended class 7 minutes early! I explained that there was enough time for my daughter to hit another bucket of balls. She asked my daughter if she wanted to continue but my daughter looked at me with rolling eyes (meaning why bother) and we called it quits. I would be even more upset if I had paid the entire $80 for the 1-hour session. It was a complete ripoff and we felt cheated. My daughter learned NOTHING and told me I should save my money and teach her myself. This was our first experience with D-Bat and this is how they reward our patronage. Really? That's how you run a business? The instructor must be the owner's daughter or niece because I can't think of any reason they would have someone like her, there. Hubs and I went to D-Bat to hit some balls and let out some aggression. :) We went on a week day during work hours, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. It was a good time. I like that they use reloadable cards and not tokens for the batting cages. Also, it's indoors, making it enjoyable even in the summer heat. I also dig the assortment of settings that their machines offer. You can choose baseball or softball, and anywhere from 40-70mph pitches. Good times. Currently, they have an offer on their website where you can sign up for 75 free pitches (5 tokens). Hubs signed up and so did I, so we got about 45 mins of free fun. We had such a good time that he purchased 100 credits for future visits. Fun for the whole family. read more

I went to D-Bat Baseball recently after hearing about it from a baseball coach. It is in a newly constructed building off 130 in Pflugerville. The place is expansive. You enter into a lobby/pro shop and can get program info/pay at the desk there. We used a swipe card issued by D-Bat to run the machine, not sure what other options there may be. Also it appears that they have private training and group classes. When we entered the batting area we were surprised by how big the place is. We used a batting cage with automatic pitching machine and a pitching cage. I noticed there are cages marked just for softball as well. There are benches along the outside of the cages. Also available is an area with a TV and bleachers on one side of the room where more people can wait. A few vending machines are found by the bleachers as well. The batting/pitching room is very clean. It all has a very polished air. Parking is easy on a newly paved private lot at the front door. I plan to be back to D-Bat Baseball. read more

Summer days are here. Its that time for ball games and back yard batting practice with mom and dad. And of course a quick trip down to the batting cages to prepare for an upcoming tournament. Those were the days I loved and the days I miss. And I can't believe it took me over a year to find a great batting cage set up. Pros: -$1.00 for 15 swings is a steal. -The facility is super nice and clean. -Staff members are super friendly. -Some tv around the establishment focused on sporting events. -You can pick whatever style pitch you would like to see and the speed. Cons: -Only four pitching machine cages, so on a long weekend day you may be waiting a while to get your reps in. -The cages feel a bit small, so you really don't see the distance of your hits. Overall-if your craving to hit the cages this is the place you have to be! Cant beat the pricing for an hour of fun! read more

Was looking for a batting cage in North Austin the other day and I came across D'Bat on Google. A buddy and I came here to get some practice in before our softball game the next day. From looking at the website this place looked pretty nice and the prices were very fair too so we decided to give it a shot. I forgot how affordable batting cages were due to the fact that I haven't been to one in about 10 years! I had a great time though; lots of fun. We ended up getting the pack of 10 tokens for just over $12 from what I remember. Overall this place was very nice. The machine got clogged on my first round but we were able to get it cleared out okay. Overall this is a great batting cage facility. I just wish they had a few more lanes with automated pitchers. I will be back soon to get some more practice in! read more

My husband made an appointment to take class with a trainer here. The class was scheduled for 6:30pm and it was an hour class. We got there a few mins before 6:30pm checked in with the guy up front and paid. He told us the cage # to go to. This was our first time so I expected a little more direction. He said the trainer would be there. We walk to the cage and it's locked.. We wait. No one comes and at this point it's way past the appointment time so we go back up to the front and let the guy know there's no one there. He goes to the back.. Come back, looks at his computer and goes back again. He comes up helps another customer then tells us the trainer will be there soon. I ask if we need a bad or balls and he says no. We was to the cage again and the trainer gets there. The trainer was nice and apologized. Then he asks if he have a bat my husband says no so they walk up to the front to get one. They do some drills and then a customer comes up and tells the trainer that they have the cage now at 7pm. The trainer tell the customer he got started late and asks if he can finish and the customer can then have it till they close. The customer said no because they have that cage and the one next to it and have a long drive home and they scheduled it for 7pm. So my husbands training ended. The trainer apologized and said he would not charge my husband for this and he would reverse the charge. We walk to the front and the trainer sits with the guy up front and point to the computer and it seems like they were taking care of the refund so my husband thanks him and the trainer apologizes him again and lets him know he won't be charged. We did not get the refund, the charge was not reversed. This place lacks in customer service all around. read more

I love this place. It is very well kept and very clean. The pitching machines throw baseballs and softball. I hit baseball and it is nice to be able to choose the speeds. 50/60/70 mph. Pitches are over the plate most of the time. It is nice to not have a consistent machine I think. The 50 mph pitches almost have a change up/curve ball motion so that is cool. Prices are very reasonable. $20 for 20 tokens, each token gets you about 15 pitches. read more

The instructor listen to what I told him we were having issues with and had him work on several drills to help fix his mechanics in both hitting and pitching. The drills he taught us is something I can work on with my son at home in between sessions and also things I can take with me to teach my team that I coach. Truly a good instructor and great session. We love DBats for the batting cages, rentals, and lessons. The birthday party packages are less than desirable and what we were told when we signed up is not what was delivered... The pricing for what you get makes it VERY expensive. Look closely at the packages and get it in writing. I was VERY disappointed that they didn't try to rectify the misrepresentation of the birthday package!! We ended up spending $400 total after choosing the $250 package. 2 large pizzas and 2 2 liter sodas does not feed 13 kids. So we had to pay $250 for the package, $15 for each additional kid, then we had to pay the pizza place for 2 additional larges and 2 more 2 liters ($40)... Because DBat doesn't pay for anymore pizza even though they charged us $15 for the additional kids... Heck the biggest package they have is for upto 20 kids and there are still only 2 large pizzas for that group...anyways that was our experience.. read more
