Heat pumps are complicated machines. Unfortunately, the HVAC industry is filled with people who just want to rip you off. You'll have a loose wire on your thermostat and they'll try to sell you a new HVAC unit for $12k. Or you'll get someone who doesn't understand how they work in the first place. Michael D'Angelo is your way out. The guy knows his stuff. How do I know? Because after getting strung along for weeks with my aged HVAC unit, after getting over charged and jerked around, Michael came and really REALLY studied the problem. He called the manufacturer for my unit, did a ton of research, came back over and over until he found the problem (a stuck metering device and a badly installed, damaged pipe). He did surgery on the unit, got a specialist welder to work with him, and got a brand new pipe installed to replace the damaged one inside the unit. It was like watching a couple of brilliant surgeons at work. You couldn't ask for a nicer, more conscientious, better informed, more honest guy to work on your system. Whether you run an office, or a factory, or it's for your home or condo, Mike is your HVAC guy. I was so happy with his work I even made him a present. I am super impressed by Michael's professionalism. My renter noticed a burnt rubber smell blowing out when she had the heater turned on. I called Michael on Monday and he came to her rescue the very next day and arrived promptly(5 mins beforehand)as promised. He diagnosed the problem within 10 mins and called me with the solution. He explained everything in detailed to me over the phone and gave me a quote. He even performed some extra work to ensure that the system would run smoothly. My AC went out on one of the HOTTEST days of the summer and I was in a panic! The home warranty company my landlord had me call came out and refilled the coolant and said it should be good to go.... It wasn't. I was so thankful to find Mike!!! He came and checked the system and said the last tech totally overfilled the coolant and he drained a lot of it. He went up into my attic and found out the main culprit (totally forgot what the part was that he needed), fixed it right up and my AC was blasting ice cold again!! I had a issue with my HVAC system not having a (C) common wire with the correct voltage of 24v to power two nest thermostats in my home. My home has dual zones up and downstairs. The thermostats kept giving errors and my system wouldn't work. I called another company and they came to check my setup in the attic and after seeing the age of my system they told me they couldn't help me and that they don't know how to provide proper power to the common wire from the zone board. I almost gave up but I called D'Angelo and was connected to Michael. Michael right away knew exactly what i was talking about. Without even seeing my system he knew how to wire it and fix the issue. Michael came and gave such great service. Helped me understand my system and worked meticulously one wiring my system and getting each thermostat zone common wire the correctly 24v needed to power the Nest thermostat 3rd and 4th gen. My AC needed some work and Mike came out as soon as he could to take a look and it ended up being my condesation pumps. He serviced my AC heads and changed my attic fan...and now everything is working smoothly and the price was very reasonable. My thermostat showed "system off". A friend tried to work on it almost all day and it turned out that furnace was fine and it was a thermostat problem. My son bought a goggle Smart thermostat to replace the old one. Unfortunately, it wasn't communicating with the furnace. Michael had to do some rewiring but had it working in no time.
