Had a bad experience! Ordered on line my card was charged no food showed up for delivery. Essentially lost not just my money but my family was left starving at 9 PM after being on the road all day. I can't tell you how DONE I am with this place. It's awful! The subs are wildly expensive, and no one there really gives a flying frig about making a quality sandwich. My steak sandwich was burnt to a crisp to the point it was barely edible, and my wife's thanksgiving sandwich didn't include cranberry sauce or come with gravy on the side. I don't know why I keep doing this to myself but I find myself coming here once a year hoping it gets better. And it gets worse. This place is pretty odd in that they have 6 people working here at one time, everyone seems busy and nobody stands idle yet the food still takes 20 minutes to arrive from the tike you order until your bag is brought up. This visit, we're talking 25 minutes for a single steak and cheese. The prices are shockingly expensive. A large sub costs $12 now and honestly, the large is about 3/4 the size of a Subway large sub. Steak & Cheese is what they hang their hat on ... and it's not good. The bread: It is spongy with no substance or flavor. It completely sucks the taste out of anything else out of the sandwich. Also, the bread is 75% of the sandwich. In places like Philly, where they know a thing or two about cheesesteak, it's usually more meat than bread. Or at least 50/50. The meat: Here, the meat is more like a condiment. It is spread through the bread liberally. I'd even prefer if they used shorter bread and stuffed the meat in. They have a sandwich size called 'The pounder' ... which is a pound of meat. (Likely pre-cooked weight ... so actually more like a half a pound in the sandwich.) They put this on a giant 14 inch long roll ... so you again get all bread and little flavor. If I were to order this again, I'd say to give me the same meat in a pound sandwich and put it in a medium sandwich's roll. The meat is also kind of blah and flavorless, which is hard to do when covering something with melted American cheese. Given the sandwich took 20 minutes to make, it came out dry and chewy. Cook it 5 minutes less! Overall, this place is just a train wreck. I'd literally rather have subway, which is one step above high school cafeteria food. For the price, you should get something better. Hopefully I'll come to my senses and not expect anything change. Long waits ... gross food ... bad value. read more

Far better than other sandwich shops. it's clean, staff is friendly, and there are discounts everyday. Reward points help lower the prices also. My grandsons love getting off the bus and seeing Mimi - it means small sandwiches for snack. read more

Well, we ordered 4 large subs the other day take out. 3 of the subs were fine, the 4th a teriyaki we received a small (?) Last night I did a pickup online take out order from the Auburn location and no one informed me & I didn't learn until I got all the way home that there was NO Pastrami. I wasn't told ANYTHING about it when I picked up my food. The Order Slip that was in with my food order is Noted "NO PASTRAMI". No one said a thing when I picked it up except "You are ALL set". I grabbed my bag & proceeded home. NO SANDWICH! I Paid for it ALL online ahead of pickup. I realize they are understaffed, but a simple phone call would have solved the problem. I'd been here several times before when I used to live local many years ago. Still a great place to get lunch! Called in an order from the car on the way through and picked it up 15 minutes later. Had a medium Tuna with provolone and she had a Greek Wrap and it was enjoyable. Service was fast when we arrived. They lost a star by not paying attention to the little things (not enough feta when asked for extra) and not putting the dressing on the side. Parking can get tight here when busy, but there is plenty of parking a short walk away. I'll be back on my next trip through the area. read more

Lunch Jan 26 Had the Lobster Roll and Lobster Bisque . The Lobster Roll was on the proper split top toasted bun and was mixed with some mayo. It wasn't very big, but it was tasty and hit the spot! I really got into the cup of Lobster Bisque. It was thick and creamy and I was surprised and how good it tasted. Living in Tampa where sandwich shops are basically the National Chains, I enjoy D'Angelo's when I visit the northeast. 2nd visit to a D'Angelos and both have been above average! read more

When my lovely wife and I venture out this way this is our go to Quick fix for fresh made grilled to perfection sandwiches. Their Italian sandwich with hot pepper relish is top shelf. The # 9 is my better half's go to sandwich. This time we went outside our norm and selected three different large bowl dinners so that we could enjoy plenty of leftovers. Lol well I selected the Southwestern chicken dinner and let me just say this "Yeehaw! If you enjoy spicy food then this is the bowl to get.My better half had the # 9 steak,peppers and onions in a large bowl. Superb! This will feed her for three days.Our third selection was the Teriyaki chicken bowl.Excellent! So what I'm saying is that D'Angelos isn't just about sandwiches it's also about what's in the Bowl for folks that don't want to fill up on bread. Jesus said that man cannot live on bread alone. Every time I try ordering a sandwich here it wrong. Case and point today 10/26/18 at 6:00 pm. Called in an order for a turkey bacon with no tomatoes, go pick it up it has no bacon and loaded with tomatoes. This must be the hardest sandwich to make because every time I order it it's wrong. Staff needs major training on putting a sub together. Ordered a hot veggie with lettuce and tomatoe on a sub. It was served to me with the grilled veggies and cheese mostly outside of the sub. Should have taken a picture. Besides that the bread was obviously not fresh since it broke apart as i tried to pick it up and tasted stale. If charging so much money for a sub I expect it to be fresh and put together well enough to pick up and eat it. Will not be coming again sorry to say. read more

I usually go to the one in Webster but it closed. I got an e-mail today with an advertisement of 2 medium sandwiches for $10 so I ordered two for pick up over the phone. I entered the store and they said my sandwiches were ready. Then I told them about my coupon and they told me they don't honor online coupons and only honor cut out coupons from newspapers because they are a franchise and not a corporate store. This seemed crazy to me seeing as how there is no way that I would know that so I asked how much they were going to charge me instead and they said $17.95. I told them to keep them and that I wouldn't be back. The guy just smiled and made no attempt to make it right. Great customer service indeed. read more

Absolutely terrible. I should have walked out when I saw them cooking raw and almost done chicken on the same grille and using the same spatula. I called them out on it and they threw out the cooked chicken. Then I got my tuna sandwich and it was basically mayonnaise on a stale roll, inedible. I left it on the counter and walked out, should have asked for a refund but just wanted to get something to eat. The Subway in town is closed, these guys need to visit one to see how a sandwich shop should operate. read more

I have to admit it, but this was our first visit to a Dangelos in well over 5 years. If you have read any of my other reviews, I have a weird dietary restriction that makes eating out sometimes a challenge in just getting what I want the way I want it with no care for how much I'll be charged. This place was amazing. We told the 2 guys working how long it was since we last ate there and we needed a few minutes to decide. They both were cool about it. I finally ordered the BBQ Bacon Chicken sandwich but without the bread and add every cheese the had, except swiss. The cheese amount was lacking but everything else was great. My husband ordered a chicken rice bowl and loved every bite. Pretty good considering he was not a Dangelos lover. Never once did I receive a bad attitude or comment or any negativity about my order, which is rare sometimes. Great experience. After going to this deangelos 2 mins from my house for years I went there 4/30/2014 at 6oclock after a very long day I was greeted actually I was not greeted by 2male servers and 1 female server they seemed very uptight and we're more concerned about how fast they were going than anything else after waiting 20 mins and watching people that came in after me already eating I asked the female server about my sandwich and was immediately hit with a BAD attitude no one new who took the order or where it went they seemed annoyed that THEY had screwed up when I finally got my sandwich 30 min later it was completely wrong at this point I was all done I calmly asked for my money back and the attitude I got from the female server was unbelievably rude and also in the half hr I was waiting I saw 4 other mistakes and very unhappy people I am a business owner and if any of my employees were treating my customers like this they would be fired immediately I will never go back to this location again! read more
