Valley Auto Care was highly recommended, but they also were (officially) closed - but I was able to contact Brian (the owner) and he said to bring it over, he'd meet me there. Two of his mechanics also happened to stop in - it's a friendly, almost family place - and they all got me up and on the road in (if memory serves) less than an hour. ANNNNDDD the charge was less than I had expected (far less than what I'd have paid at home.) I wish I had a shop like this here in Virginia! Brian and the guys are too-shelf (and honest). I'm keeping a list of minor stuff I need fixed for the next trip to Stillman Valley - seriously. Appreciate your work ethic and honesty Brian - I'll be back! *I'm baaaaack! Drove up again to see relatives over the Thanksgiving holiday. Of course my car died again (it's a 2000 Buick--1000 mile road trips are rough on it, I guess). Called Brian and got right in - bad fuel pump this time. Brian fixed it quick and (again) charged me a lot less than they would have at home. He also did a few other tweaks I needed while we were there. Thanks Brian, you are the best mechanic in Illinois! **BACK AGAIN - I basically seem to do tHis every Thanksgiving. Drive from the East Coast to moms here in Stillman Valley. Had some brake issues on the way here this time, and Brian worked me in and he and Mike did a great job at a fair price. Also they fixed three window regulators (hadn't been able to open 3 out of 4 windows for months). Thanks Brian, for the excellent service!

Not only does he complete repairs quickly and affordably but he spends the time with you to make sure you understand what he did and why. All of my family members go to Stillman Valley Auto Care and he treats them just like he would members of his own family. I can't say enough great things about this place.

(Holy cow, I just realized that I've had a draft of this review sitting unfinished for over 2.5…read moreyears. I'm a terrible Yelper. Anyway, better late than never...) So after an unfortunate meeting with a large piece of metal on a rural road, I rolled my poor Nissan Sentra over to the only auto repair place in Freeport that I knew about (thanks to its distinction as the "best repair shop in town," according to a local newspaper survey). Even though I hobbled in just minutes before closing time, they took their time to check out the damage and then gave me a quick assessment of the situation (which ended up with a gathering of employees staring at the underside of my car in amazement that something could have done so much destruction without resulting in a complete breakdown (or an explosion (seriously))). Ultimately, my auto was toast, and it couldn't be put back on the road without significant work. Dave, the owner, stuck around to help me figure out a rental car, and then actually offered to drop me off on his way home! I don't want to make it sound like this should be expected as standard practice, but this level of customer service -- even in a rare exceptional situation -- is pretty much unheard of. All in all, the work that they did was perfect, they went the extra mile personally and professionally, and I'm still happily chugging along 60,000-or-so miles later. I'm going to need some more work done again soon, and it's too bad that I wasn't able to take the Auto Repair Specialists with me when I moved back to the Chicago burbs.

He just threw a bunch of parts in it that never fix my car and then charge me 2700$ save your money after coming to him with my issues an actual facts from another mechanic and an invoice on what the other mechanic had to do. I try to go in there and have a nice talk with him and go about it a different way, but it was clear he didn't care about me as a customer at all in the years that I've been going to that place, getting my car fixed he just kept responding by saying I got your car started didnt I? He didn't care what I had to go through or my car broke down just a few weeks after I paid him 2700$ to fix it he didn't see anything wrong with what he did and I hope this doesn't happen to anybody else

It was clean, there was a tv and many seats for customers. I drove my car up the line went in to check it in with my keys and left. I came back after doing some errands and paid and went home. I ended up paying about $170 for just an oil change. Needless to say I don't drive that vehicle anymore. Other than that, great service, fast and stress free.

I had some issues with it (all body related) and my boys Julian and Nick took great care of me and my little red truck. They analyzed the issues and made repair recommendations, and came up with a quote that I could afford. They did three of the four repairs, in less than a day, at about 1/2 the quote price, and referred me to a body shop for the fourth repair, because that kind of work is not in their wheelhouse. I am so grateful for the guys at Butitta Auto in Oregon, Illinois. Following a previous visit, I happened to call the shop after they'd closed for the day. I didn't leave a message, but apparently my caller ID showed up. Julian was still in the shop and noticed the "missed call," and he called me back, just to make sure I was okay, and not experiencing another problem with my truck. That really touched my heart! I'm a disabled veteran, and vehicle reliability is key to my peace of mind and safety, when I'm out and about. They're honest, caring, trustworthy, and always put the customer's needs first, while ensuring the safety and reliability of the vehicle, to keep us safe. They also give a Veteran's Discount, which is greatly appreciated!
