They sent one truck and it wouldn't work (I failed to mention the car was AWD) BUT, he checked out the car and came back to meet me the next morning and was very gracious with his pricing. Our car got stuck on a dirt road while attempting to turn and almost went in a ditch. Called D&P at 11:30 pm and they sent a tow truck driver within 30 mins who was very helpful and safely got our car out. He made sure to guide me in the driver's seat while towing the car out and followed us back out to the main road to make sure we got out safely. The whole thing was done in an hour and luckily we avoided any damage to the car or people inside. Good value for the hourly charge of $250. read more

Unfortunately, we had to cancel, but Kim continued to assist us with a gameplan to assure that our daughter was able to get to their destination safely. Honestly hands down one of the best businesses to be operating in the state of California. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this business succeeded when all others failed (including AAA - I'll get to that later in this review), and the tow service provided was fantastic. Don and the team he works with are professionals in every sense of the word. Let me paint you a little picture. A week ago I decide to drive from Mammoth Lakes to the other side of the Sierra by way of Highway 108 (since I don't have a reservation to drive through Yosemite National Park via Highway 120 with this new reservation system wherein you can't drive through the park during peak hours of 6AM - 4PM). My truck, twenty years old, 253K miles on it, makes it across the 108 and down into Groveland, CA when the temps are hovering around 100F. Needless to say it was a hot day. I'm on the 120 heading east past Buck Meadows when uh-oh - the temp gauge hits peak HOT and I know I'm in deep trouble. I pull off to the side of the road, white steam blasting out of my radiator, hissing like crazy. I call a roadside mechanic while I wait for the engine to cool down. They take an hour to arrive, did all they could to fix my aging automobile, but diagnose the issue is potentially a blown head gasket. Great. So I call AAA - who are usually fantastic, not this time. I then embarked on a three hour odyssey with multiple calls back and forth to AAA to try to get a tow company out to my location. The sun sets, I'm still on the side of the highway in the woods. Apparently with rising gas prices the tow company that USUALLY services this part of California dropped their working relationship with AAA and there are ABSOLUTELY NO tow companies willing to come out and tow me out at that hour - now 10PMish. I'm stuck for the night, on the side of the highway. AAA has been no help whatsoever. I decide, as I'd really like to sleep in a bed for the night and not on the side of the highway, to try to nurse my truck nine miles west into Groveland and stay at a motel for the night. Well, by some miracle my truck decides it can make those nine miles and I roll into town (probably inflicting more damage on my poor truck but let's just say after the entire multi-hour debacle with AAA I didn't want to sleep in my car). I call AAA the next morning and they connect me with this company. Don, the company founder AND driver for me, rolls into Groveland around 6PM after doing a handful of crazy tows beforehand and coming to my rescue knowing full well no other company will come out to tow my truck. Twenty-four hours later from when my truck initially broke down and I'm now on my way and Don tows me down to Visalia CA (I have the 200 mile tow AAA plan). Heck, he even shares his life story with me and all the epic ways he and his company have saved other stranded travelers in the Yosemite area. I make it safely to Visalia around 11PM. D & P Towing got me out a really tough spot, when they didn't have to (they don't normally tow from this part of CA). AAA needs to get their act together in this area or a lot of people could potentially be stranded. I had it pretty good - I was able to roll into town and sleep for the night. I can't imagine trying to get towed right now being farther out if the company AAA usually works with isn't currently towing from this part of the mountains. Very disappointed with the service received during really really trying times!! I was on my way to Bass Lake on Feb 24th'2023 and was stuck in the snow just before it was getting dark. I was traveling with my family including my mom and teen daughter in my Sedan (bad decision on my part) and finally got hold of some kind CHP Samaritans who rescued us from the car and transported us to the nearby resort. My car was left abandoned and because there was no signal, I could not get hold of my insurance company or AAA. Finally, CHP volunteers told me that they got hold of a local towing company and I was super relieved. The lady I spoke to told me that they are going to charge me $225 an hour and I was okay with it. Considering it was just 6 miles away from the resort, I thought it was going to take them 30-40 mins at most. I got the bill, and I was charged a whopping $787.50!!!! Apparently, it took them 3.5 HRS, I mean really!!!!! I did not have any option but pay because I was helpless at that point. I tried requesting the driver but of course they also knew I was helpless. All I can say is, THIS IS NOT FAIR!!!! I appreciate you guys helping us out, but you should not take advantage of people as well. Rather, you should go above and beyond to help, that is what makes the difference at the end of the day. Because of the towing the plastic below my front bumper fell off and the driver told me that they were going to remove it before they left, THEY DID NOT and left. I tried calling them several times but to no avail. SUPER DUPER DISAPPOINTED, and I hope folks reading this get a lesson from my story and do not fall for the same trap. Ideally, I should be writing a rave review right now, instead this is how we ended. By the way, the distance from where it was towed to where it was dropped was exactly 6 miles. Follow-up response - Well, first of all please do not say SORRY when you do not mean it. 1) You guys did not transport us as it might seem from your comment 2) I had chains but was still stuck and hence sought help 3) Do not advocate us to count our blessings, we are thankful definitely, to all who helped including your driver but as a business owner please be open to honest reviews as well 4) I had a tracking device to my car and the end to end time from when your driver reached my car to when it was delivered was 35 mins. 5) Your operator should have told me in advance that it would take more than 3 hours or at least given me an idea of the cost upfront. I was one of those many cars trying to get out of the Yosemite Valley after Thanksgiving holidays. The roads were open for a short time while we all tried to safely navigate the icy roadways. There were many areas where cars were sliding into each other as well as into snow banks. I was driving my brand new Tesla Y, it was very slow going until my tire chains came loose and cut through my break line! I was more than fortunate as I was able to plow into a snow bank off the road. I called Tesla towing service, they said it would be quicker if I notified the Highway Patrol so they would know where I was. Highway patrol came and said they were completely overwhelmed with the mess we were all in and gave me the name of D&P Towing which would be closest. As there were so many vehicles on the road that needed to be towed, it took awhile, but D&P brought the flat bed and between the two of us and the Google App to help, we got my Tesla onto the truck without incident. The driver then drove me to a hotel and took the vehicle to his shop to keep it safe. The next day they were able to drive the vehicle to the Tesla dealer in Fresno to replace the break lines. The driver was amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and went way over the expected. I couldn't recommend this company or the driver more. read more
