Awesome service! I have D & P in Dundee, MI. This is for my internet. I am so impressed! Xfinity always had outages, but D&P does not! And I'm on a 2-year promotion that is much less than xfinity charges. D&P told me when I signed up that areas differ on whether they have upgraded, but they said my area (around Rawson) would be in a pretty good upgrade area. They were right! I have really fast internet. The office staff is always very efficient and friendly too. I would highly recommend!!!! read more

We had D&P internet for an amazing 2 years... The reason for the crumby review is because we moved a total of 4 blocks from our previous address and they said they couldn't transfer our service and to get different provider... Yes! Our new residence wasn't in there coverage area even tho we had called before we moved and they told us they would put lines in... In spring time! We feel like they didn't want or need our money any more. So I say this I will never ever get D&P again... I will not recommend the service to family or friends! I will tell everyone to get Comcast at least they want customers. read more

UPDATE 2015 I must update my prior (2013) review. That review was written before I really knew much about our options in this rural community. We are barely outside the city limits and our options are (a) Frontier DSL, (b) satellite through something like Dish, (c) "fixed wireless" which I think D&P Communications is the only game in town. D&P sets itself apart from the others with transparency and honesty. When they say my service costs 70.99, my bill reads 70.99. In contrast, Frontier charges my mother in law ~25% in a long list of unexplained fees. If you get quotes from Frontier, they will not include the fees in the prices they quote and will even flatly say their policy is to not discuss fees. Furthermore, the D&P installation crew came out and told us we couldn't get 8 mbps, and that 3 might be more realistic. When we did get the service we averaged 5 mbps. Frontier? I believe them to be fundamentally dishonest and intentionally misleading. My mother in law's "6 mbps connection" through Frontier is throttled 24/7 to 1 mbps download/0.3 mbps upload. That's too slow for Skype (!). The problem with D&P is that they are expensive. Their 8mbps/2mbps package is $71. That's pretty steep in my book. Then comes the reality, buying internet in Adrian is like the South Park episode with the class mascot election between the Giant Douche vs. Turd Sandwich (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UthMHjoNyjA). There *are no great options.* Frontier's business model is to prey upon people who will pay any amount for internet, then they bait and switch, throttle connections, and hide fees. Satellite is really too limited in terms of data allowances (a concept ripe for corporate abuse & surprise bills). In the end, the honest company gets my money Yay! I'm a fan. 4 stars. They are too expensive for 5 stars. But consider the competition weighs in at 1 & 2 stars. =============================== ORIGINAL REVIEW (2013) I was signing up for their service yesterday when the "give us your SS number and all personal information" screen came up. I filled everything out and before hitting the send button I notice the web page was UNSECURED. So I called their customer support number and someone from the Adrian office answered (cool, a local!) and told them about it. The lady was really nice and said I had to come in anyway to sign an agreement, even if I did sign up online. The next day I went into their office to finish the deal. On the phone and in person their customer service seemed top notch. The lady I spoke to even surfed the actual connection speeds of my neighbors and found the fastest speed I could expect was 3 mbps. Cool, honesty from an ISP. That was too slow for our purposes, so I passed. I suspect this company is way, way better than Frontier (a pair of dixie cups and a string is better than Frontier) but they may be slower for rural folks than the over-the-airwaves services like D&L Communications. (2015 edit: D&P is an over-te-airwaves service in rural areas, I suspect they are slower than Satellite services). One thing they insisted on was that they don't slow down connection speeds during the day. This smells like BS to me, but they were emphatic about it. (2015 edit: this claim turned out to be true.) I had dial-up service with their predecessors (netperson.net and TC3net) for many years. I always paid for a year in advance. When D&P took over, they wanted to bill monthly. I called and asked if I could pay yearly in advance. They agreed and I sent a check. Their representative even told me to ignore the monthly bills because their system was not set up for annual billing. In June, when the year was up, I wanted to renew, but they had raised their rates some time during the year. I cancelled the service, but they said I had to pay a balance because of the rate increase. I wrote a letter explaining all this, and that I had always paid in advance, that they had no right to run a balance on my account without my permission. I paid for a year and I should get a year of service. They did not respond to my letter. They just sent another bill (and added a $7.50 penalty). I imagine they will keep sending bills (and adding penalties) and then try to ruin my credit rating. I guess they figure they can try to bill for anything they want. Unless you are willing to spend money for a lawyer, there is not much a person can do. I won't deal with this company again. read more

Since were in the rural area, D&P is really our only option. We purchased the 4.0 Mbps package, but have never seen anything close to that. We're mostly between 1.0-1.5 Mbps on a good day. Upload speeds on a good day are usually .5 Mbps but you'll see days with .03 as a high. We'd love to get rid of D&P and fine an actual high speed connection, but I don't see that happening for some time to come. read more

Unreliable Connection is the #1 complaint from me. Unexplained disconnects ranging from a few minutes to a couple hours on a DAILY (and no I am not kidding) basis and never anything said on their website about why or how it happened? My employment works through them as well and it is the same thing, so I know it is not my residence that is the problem. They KNOW they are the only game in town for rural areas so it is either them or Frontier, which I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, so you are stuck with a crappy provider. internet and cable itself is great, no concerns. However, customer service leaves something to be desired. I have looked at website, Facebook page and Twitter whenever there's an issue to check if there is an outage before contacting company or checking all my equipment. They do not post any updates, makes one wonder what they're hiding. Save customers the hassle and just let us know when there is an outage and provide an update when it's fixed-please don't make us jump through hoops read more

The People who work their are fairly nice, some more so than others. Internet speeds that they provide are mediocre at best, for ten dollars more than their highest package you can get 3x the speed from other providers. They provide fairly reliable speeds, but at the cost of constant, and I mean constant, outages, Daily occurrences where everything in the entire house is disconnected form the internet for periods of 5 minutes to 30 minutes. Keep in mind I called them on multiple occasions and they claim nothing is wrong. I can't speak to their phone or cable service. Pros: -Reliable service, When it is working. -Speeds you get are what you pay for. -Fairly friendly people. Cons: -Service outages are a daily occurrence. -Hours for support, or to contact any human body are terribly inconvenient. -Their "High Speed Internet" is actually very very slow speed internet compared to others, in America. -Your "Total Amount Due" on a bill is not actually the Total amount, it only reflects the amount they require you to pay that month. If you have any outstanding amounts other than that they will sit on another portion of your bill in small print on the third page, until you find it. I have posted multiple reviews, to help others see the pros and cons, I got disconnected as many as 6 times. read more

Fantastic! D&P advertised 110 MBPS download. I am getting - through my router 107 MBPS. Upload speed is 23 MBPS. Can't argue with that can you? Compare to Frontier DSL which was 3.5 MBPS download (they promised 10 I think) and 0.25 MBPS upload. Pathetic! They started out with at about 8.5 MBPS and then after a couple weeks I was lucky to hit 4 MBPS! This was after they begged for me to stay with them! Well finally I switched. I wish I would have done it sooner! D&P came out, installed the equipment quickly an efficiently. The installer was knowledgeable and professional. They arrived around the time they said they would - a little earlier actually. I'm so happy! I'll update later if anything changes but, freak'n awesome so far... read more

D&P is the true leader in rural business and residential internet service. While the speeds may have lulls at times depending on interference with the towers, they offer exceptionally reasonable prices for great service. Every interaction I've had with their customer support has been phenomenal and they're dedicated to helping out the members of our community. Do not fall for the tricks that Comcast employs. I made a yelp account just for this company. This is the biggest joke of a communication company I have even seen. If you think about getting there wireless internet I would suggest staying with dial up connection. We where paying $60 a month for .5 mbps 99% of the time. There only 1 redeeming quality is they had nice customers service but! They are the most clueless IT people in the world. If unplugging it and plugging it back in does not work good luck takes over 72 hours to hear back from level 2 support. All and all don't buy anything from this company if you need wireless internet because there is nothing else go get a Verizon hotspot half the price and with the 4g lte network out here now 20x faster and more reliable then Tc3net internet read more

I had been with TC3 for 14 years before they were bought out by D & P. When they took over my speed went slowly downhill, I would call and they would tell me it was frontiers phone lines and there was nothing they could do.... two years we have been complaining to them, two years they would lie and say it was on our end. Frontier came out last year and replaced the entire line to our home, put it underground and did everything they could to make sure their end was good, still D & P insisted it was not their fault. It has been so bad we could not even down load our emails. Useless, Well D & P we are done with your lies, we are done with your poor service, we are done with your people that just plain do not know how to service their customers. Today we got Frontier Internet and guess what..... it works just fine, their phone lines are just fine. The problems were not on frontiers end, it was your problem all along D&P and we paid you good money for several years for NOTHING! this company provides the worst internet service ive ever seen. speeds slow down to dialup speeds or less constantly. there customer service personal lie to there customers that its on there end . facebook page proves the lies being told to customers.(facebook-D & P Communication Outages) when i complained to supervisor , i was threatened with shutoff and was also accused of trying to get out of the bill. phones drop calls and random phone calls of loud buzzing noises. if you want to stream any video forget it not happening here. right now my download speed is .80 mbs and i pay $90 for there higher speed. its been like this for years. also expect no compensation. read more
